It didn't look too...bad. All it appeared to be was a glassy plane, shaded every so often by a tree. Not that the place needed shading at the moment, for a sudden train of clouds seemingly appeared out of no where to block out the sun to the point where it almost felt like night. Almost.

Megra shifted her feet a bit uneasily--she had a thing about mud and dirty, murky water that was hiding from them. But who knew, one step and they would probably have their feet wet. Aah well...

"You ready, G'iz? I'm betting the flag is somewhere over in that part, where the trees thicken." it was hard to cover up, so it would be obvious to the other brownrider that Megra was nervous.

G'iz listened, and nodded, looking out onto the marshes with a grin. He had traversed the lands many times in his travles, and it was an interesting surrpise to step on a seeming solid patch of grass, and end up knee deep in mud. A surprise that little Pepith was already finding out, as the squeal she gave out in surprise had G'iz's head snapping in her direction.

It was almost comical how she was standing, her chest settled on the ground with both her front paws sunk into the mud, she was squealing in surprise as she tried to right herself, only to sink back down. "Calm down Pep, just spread your toes and take it slow." G'iz instructed, the little mocha brown, who listened and did what he said, carefully exctracting herself from the substance and skittishly skittering to his side. Mine, I do not like this...Mud...it is unplesant! She whined to him, eyes flecked with a bit of pale striations in fear, the boy chuckling and patting her head to reassure her. "Then we'll just need to find the flag quicker then."

The boy smiled to his brown, then the brownrider attached to his arm, then carefully steered them all to the direction Megra had pointed. His keen eyes roving over the thick of the trees for any flash of yellow he may see. "Pepith, can you search around the ground and middle? We'll take the higher points to look." He asked while still roaming his eyes to the brown, she chirping happilly with a quick darting nod before too looking about.

"Poor Pepith...we certainly have something in common!" Megra all but mumbled as her eyes stayed glued to the ground, having much faith in G'iz that he wouldn't navigate them into a tree while she was so attentive to where their feet went.

She finally looked up, to add her searching gaze to G'iz's.

"I hope it is not in a sharding tree...that would be kind of hard to accomplish," she said, lowering her gaze as they wandered in further. But no flag appeared to them, and they were force to wander even deeper into the marshes.

It happened so quickly that Megra didn't even have the breath to squeak--a step forward had her right leg plunging down into a pocket of muck that swallowed her up to her thigh, so she was forced to sit awkwardly. At least her other leg was still free!

"Ugh... ....G'iz, I'm stuck." her voice was tiny--not afraid, not stressed, but rather helpless. This was certainly not her kind of terrain! But what G'iz didn't know was that, if he attempted to yank Megra out, he would step back into a devious hole of warm mud.

G'iz blinked as he listened to megra, nodding carefully to her and smiling. "Hey now this isnt so ba-" just as he spoke, the girl sank up to her leg in mud, causing him to blink for a few seconds. "On second thought...this may suck." He finished out, noting her helpless tone of voice, and not liking it.

He turned to face her, having to manueaver around their combined wrists, carefully grasping her hands. "This'll be easy, just pull you out!" He said, reassuring her of what he was doing before he put his weight into his shoulders, and pulled. But he underestimated the ground on which he stood on, Megra came up easy, but in the prosess he sunk down to his knees, and with the momentum of pulling the girl up, he toppled backwards.

He groaned as he shook his head to clear his thoughts, an odd wieght pressing on his chest, at first he thought it was Pepith, worridly sitting on him to make sure. But when he opened his bright eyes, he saw hair...Dark blond hair. "Uhm...well this is interesting."

Megra was reassured, and forced herself to try and cheer up. But it would have been a completely different story if she had been having to do this all by herself...!

"Woah!" Megra yipped as she was pulled out, but G'iz sunk right into the ground and she was flung onto him. Her face burned brightly, blue eyes wide as she stared down at him.

"I-indeed it is," Megra stuttered, clearing her throat and trying to get up. In the process, her eyes saw something yellow by G'iz's elbow! "Oh hey, there is the flag! Maybe it fell from the tree and was sinking into the mud..." Oh yeah, mud. That was enough motivation to get her up to her feet, carefully grasping Gi'z's wrists and attempting to carefully yank him up one leg at a time.

"Hey Pepith! The flag is over here!" she called out, giving one last tug that had the poor, slimy G'iz free. Megra squeaked as she nearly stepped back into the hole she had recently sunk into, wrapping her arms around G'iz so as to keep her balance.

...Goodness.

She looked up with a bit of a sheepish smile, letting her unbound arm drop to her side. "....Yes, that was fun....next!" she tried to say cheerfully, but her blush would not leave.

G'iz grinned to her sheepishly, he would have rubbed the back of his head if his arm wasnt trapped beneath his body at an akward angle. He turned his head as she directed his gaze to the yellow strip next to him, blinking at it, then at megra, then back again. "Oh hey...the flag, whatta ya know." He exclamed as he took her offered hands, carefully picking himself out of the mud.

He shivered as he stood, the feeling of the warm oozing mud dripping down his shirt feeling odd at best, moving to pick up the flag just as Pepith came forward. A grin well in place on her muzzle, as she had watched the commotion from the distance. She dantilly took the flag into her mouth, the red corners of the other one sticking out like a beacon.

G'iz looked at Pep as she took the flag, but he gave a small yelp as he suddenly felt Megra's arms around his waist, blinking sheepishly to her as he now rubbed the free hand behind his head. G'iz tilted his head as she spoke, trying to brush it off, laughing a bit to her words as he looked for the best possible way out. "Yeah...next!"

((I'm just gonna mooch off your topic kthx XDDD))

Locreth looked over the marshes with some doubt. There was something about this place that made him uncomfortable, like he was being swallowed whole by something. His feet were already sinking into the mud, but there was something else. Would B'rian really hide a flag in a place like this? It looked like someone had already been here and left, however, judging from small footprints that hadn't yet filled themselves with mud again.

'I do not like this place, Mine,' he said, his wings twitching. 'I feel as if this place is engulfing me.'

"Nope, that's just me," came K'ay's voice, filled with strangled undertones. His entire lower half was missing, literally engulfed by the mud. While they had been standing there, looking out on the seemingly-grassy plain, K'ay had been sinking until it was too late. "Help?"

The dragon, strangely calm, lowered his head to K'ay's level. The boy wrapped his arms around the head and Locreth pulled him out with a sucking squelching noise. 'Be careful where you step, K'ay. You as well, Keyth.'

K'ay grunted and tried to wipe off some of the mud. His pants and part of his shirt were completely green-ish brown from the muck. "Yeah. Let's just get this flag quickly. It's the yellow one, right, A'taer?"
