Her killing spree was awesome. In arcade terms her score is UL! Not ultimate!, Unbelievably Low! Favorite character in any novel ever.
Haha, just wait til' you read volume 5.
Shinobu is pure awesomeness.
He's an intelligent bookwormish-looking guy, but at the same time he can do super jump kicks, find out anything from anyone and he rides a motorcycle (I like characters who ride motorcycles).
At the same time, he's not a perfect character either. He's always living up to his mom, and hates that he starts to develop feelings for his cousin (incest, lol), and generally finds no problem with hurting/threatening/possibly killing people to find out the truth or get his way.
So, EndofWords, what would you rank all the characters in the novels?
Here's my ranking (this one is pretty simple, least favorite to favorite):
China < Mayumi < Youichiro < Ayaha < Mother Superior < Tachikake < Hidemi < Shouko (HAHA SHE'S A FUJOUSHI) < Kira < Shinobu
Mother Superior is the only villain I liked. :S
Novel 1 had a slobby fat dude, Novel 3 didn't have a villain (Akira isn't exactly a villain), Novel 4 was a lolicon, and Novel 5 just had some ugly lady and her brother. >_>

Hmm, well, in slice-of-life manga, I guess Akira could be considered a "villian". Mine is similar to yours.
China < Mayumi < Youichiro < Ayaha < Tachikake < Hidemi < Mother Superior < Kira < Shuoko < Shinobu(now he is.)
Bwahahaha. I wanted to put mother Superior a bit higher(her name's freakin "superior"!) but Kira takes the place from her.
China was horrible, like the stereotypical anime softie. Think Colette from Tales of Symphonia er something.
"incest, lol." Best quote ever^ Novel 1 was boring IMO.
Yeah, but I don't consider Akira a villain cuz' she didn't get arrested/punished like the other villains.
I also agree with you that novel 1 was boring. I also hated that the characters acted REALLY out of character (Kenta being a huge dumbass for one thing, and Karin acting really stereotypical).
At least the later novels are more interesting. 3 and 5 will have you reading the whole thing in one day (took me about 3 days to read the other ones).

I bought volume 3 today. I was at Waldenbooks and I figured I'd pick up the copy that I accidentally special ordered, so I now have it in my possession.
I also purchased a rather gorgeous leather-bound Mark Twain treasury with gilded pages that features all of his most famous works. I know, COMPLETELY unrelated, but my biggest hopes for reading the Karin/Chibi Vampire light novels is to get me back into reading in general, anime/manga light novels or otherwise. So I figured I'd make mention of it anyways.

I love Mark Twain. Holy hell, yes I do.
I read The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn in Junior year. It was one of my favourite reading experiences during the entire year, by far.
I remember reading the first half of that book, and it really messed-up my grammar, lol.
I really do like the writing style of that book, but it's best not too read too much at a time...

"In June 2008, Tokyopop restructured itself, breaking into two subsidiaries under a single holding company, and cut its publication releases by more than half.[6][7] As part of this cut back, Tokyopop canceled the remaining releases of Chibi Vampire: The Novel after the fifth volume, due to be released July 8, 2008.[8]"
Just before the really good novels too (7 and 8). Damn.

I just got novels 7 and 9 in the mail today.
(Didn't get 8 because it was out of stock >_> )
I've only looked at the pictures since I don't really feel like struggling to read them (reading small print Japanese is kind of hard, you know...).
Not too many cute pics in Novel 9 like I thought there would be (although Karin getting snot on Kenta's uniform looked funny as hell).
And there's also one pic of this lady choking Karin to death which looks really scary.
Novel 7 had more cute scenes in it, though.
My favorite was Karin with this ring on her hand pretending like it was a wedding ring. Her face is so darn cute!
I would gladly scan these two novels if I had a scanner with me... I live with my dad now so I have to go out and buy a new scanner... ugh... ;_;
Also, yes, I'm still typing out Volume 5 and Volume 3 (kinda alternating a little).
I have no idea when they will be done. Going to school takes a good chunk out of my time to work on them.
