We are Looking for Translators for Japanese & Chinese.
Test for each language will be provided.

Edit by Digital_Eon: We are not currently looking for proofreaders at the moment. Thank you to everyone who applied, however.

Edit by Elchfaenger: However we REALLY could use translators! Jap, Chinese or Korean (the latter two if we find appropriate projects/raws)

Here is the proofreader test. Once you complete the test mail your completed work to wearefairytail@gmail.com.

**********************
In the following test you will be given ten paragraphs filled with a variety
of common spelling and grammatical errors that you will be faced as a proofreader.

Make all corrections DIRECTLY IN THE SCRIPT.

And most importantly (and cornily)
HAVE FUN! (because it won't last as a proofreader... MUWAHAHA... just kidding...)

Paragraph 1

Who would have ever believe that solving
meth problems counting sylables and doing memory puzzles would be a fun, and
addictive video game! Brain Age is certianly not a tipical game but its the
leader in nintendo's new philosphy of reaching out to a diferent audeince. By
rapidly doing simple math and other brainteesers, you'll learn your brain's
"age". the goal is get it downs to 20 - which isn't as easy as youd think.
Designed to to be played for just a momnts par day, "Brain Age" also includes a large
number of Sudoku puzzles for that times, when you'r not quit ready to quit

Paragraph 2

On the other hand harvick, and his wife DeLana, are the benevelent kings, and
quen, of the busch sereis. They owns an two-car Busch team and are trying to stay
true too the idea of of giving young driver chance

Paragraph 3

three holywood chimpanzes, said to have been punched and beaten to make
them preform will spend the rest of their life in a animals santuary in an
creulty law suite setlment an animal rights group, said thursday.

Paragraph 4

Computers simply canot divide by zero.
Try it on you're calculator, and youll get an eror message.
But, Dr. Anderson has come up with a theory that proposes a new number - 'nullity' -
which sits outside the conventonal number line (stretching from negative
infinities, through zero, to positive infinities)
despite being a problem takled by the famous mathemitician, Newton and Pythagoras,
without sucess, it seems the year 10 childs at highdown now no there nullity.

Paragraph 5

When Virtua Fighter hit the arcades, jaws dropped. The fighters lacked
any true definition by today's visual standards, but this was in 3D.
Over time, the series evolved into the most demanding of brawlers.
The button-mashing of Dead or Alive and Soul Calibur did you no good
in Virtua Fighter. You needed to know your combos, fight intelligently
and practice, practice, practice. Technically, Virtua Fighter was
responsible for Shenmue, as it was initially planned as a Virtua Fighter
RPG. To date, no other 3D fighter has equaled VF in terms of difficulty and depth.

Paragraph 6

Thats what i said, so, if he can't move how's he gonna sit down George.
I was an stand up tomato, a jewcy sexy beefsteak tomato! Nobody does vegtables,
like me! I did a evenin off vegtables off-broadway! I did the best tomato
the best cucumbr - I did a endive salade that knocked the critic on there ass!

Paragraph 7

As buddy the car saleman who finally finds a purpose and Steve the tightass
who needs to lighten up, DeVito, and Broderick might have the making for a
old fashioned odd-couple comedy but none of that is developed in an meaning way
Indeed their feuding is sily and doesnt logicaly escalate as the movie lurches
from one interlud too teh next -- none particulary big splashy or even all that
desructive reflecting production value as modest as a script.

Paragraph 8

When questioned, in the followup 92 percent of those girl said they engaged in,
some kind of un-healthy Weight-Control behavoir compared to about 68 percent
of girls whom strongley disagred that they wieghed themselves freqeuntly

Paragraph 9

Man is a imortal spiritual being, his experience extends well beyond a single
life time. His capabilities are un-limited even if not presently realized — and
those capabilitys can be realiezd. He is able to not only to solve their own problems,
accomplish his goals, and gain lasting happines but also achieve new highest states
of awarenness and abilite.

Paragraph 10

When it's time for a snowfall a stage hand pulls on a long hemph cord attached
to the contraptin high above the stage as if he were ringng an bel. The front
end of the pocket rise, and lowers and the snow are sifted through the slites in
the canvas. Gentle tugs causes a light dusting of the flame proof paper, more
vigoruos pulls can create a blizard. Gravity play an imported part, as well.
“We give it time” Blumenfeld says. “It falls probably 20 feet before the lights
hit it, and the audeince can sees it, by then its coming down symetrically”.

Question: Are you looking for more of a 'word-for-word' proof-read, or is paraphrasing okay? (Paraphrasing for the sake of grammar, of course. Or maybe just so it sounds cooler.)

Rephrasing sentences is allowed, and often necessary for translations, but it's best to keep things as close to the original as possible while still making sense. That's the original translation, after all...

Hello. I can help you guys translate Karin if you are a bit short handed. But the thing is that I translate Korean so I'll be translating from korean raws of Karin. The Korean language and Japanese language is quite similar in structure and culture, so there won't be many differences between the two versions. Tell me if your interested; i would love to help as this is one of my favorite manga biggrin.gif
