Reese pushed his way through the drunken crowd, “Really, this isn’t even necessary. What the hell would we do if someone attacked the village now?” he complained loudly. A village full of drunken idiots did not make the ideal defense. Reese stopped suddenly as a villager staggered forward in front of him and puked an ungodly blend of alcohol and ramen.

He sidestepped the mess and looked back, “Just be careful, all kinds of idiots come out ----” Reese ended the warning abruptly as he realized Keilani was no longer behind him, “Lani?”

When there was no response, Reese swung around scanning the crowd. Still, he couldn’t find Keilani, and his jovial grin faded to an extent, She’ll be fine… she probably met up with one of her friends from the academy or something, he attempted to reason. But even with that explanation, he couldn’t help but to worry a little bit; it had always been like this --- Keilani had a mean streak when it came to getting into bad positions. And as soft spoken as she was, she had no means of saving herself when things got tough.

Calm down. It’s a peace party. Nothing’s gonna happen, he rationalized again. It was a skill that only worked because it concerned his sister, the sole anchor holding his free spirit in Konoha. Hoping that he wasn’t making a big mistake, Reese resumed his walk in the direction of the many booths and activities that had been set up around the village.

Daisuke wandered slowly on the edge of the crowd, passing a few booths with food and games. He made himself as small as he could to avoid colliding with someone.
Why did I leave? he thought, looking around for a way to escape the deafening street. I could be in my apartment now, doing... nothing... oh that's why.
He looked around again.
"So... many people..." he whispered to himself. Maybe I should just go back home. I have no reason to be here...

Reese sauntered through the various stands set up; evidently he was searching for something. His emerald eyes darted from stall to stall as he sized up each one and watched the way various people moved. Stooping down, he picked up a large coin from the ground and twirled it from his finger. Easy money was always a good thing; but what he had planned for the night was sure to be something much better.

Losing track of Keilani had been a definite setback in his scheme since he had planned on using her for a portion of his setup; but ever the quick thinker, a few minor refinements had filled in the final gaps. A roguish grin signaled the final phase when he caught sight of an unoccupied stall. The sign hanging from the counter said they had already sold out whatever the stall had been selling. This meant, of course, no one was going to mind if Reese took it for himself.

The vibrant genin hopped onto the stool beside the stall and flailed his arms to get some attention, “Alright, step right up and witness something you’ve never seen before! What does the future hold for you? Know right now about things set for later! Consider this a once in a lifetime chance to get the goods of tomorrow to benefit today! Fortune telling here! Sacred tags here! Ward off spirits with our items! Cure a hangover with our cure! Anything with a chance, give it a shot!”

Daisuke looked up when he heard a very loud, familiar voice rise above the crowd. That boy from his class, Reese, was standing on a stool beside a stall, shouting something about fortune telling and a hangover cure.
He started moving through the crowd towards the yelling boy. Being near someone he sort of knew was better than wandering aimlessly around.
He emerged at the front of the crowd, a few feet away from Reese. This looks... interesting... he thought.

A crowd had already begun to move in on Reese’s stand; apparently he had mentioned something that interested them, “Oh that’s right, you need it, I have it. Everything you need to ward off bad spirits, break a curse, cure a cough, cold, or hangover!”

Reese took in a deep breath and closed his eyes; this was the moment that would pull all of this together. His thoughts dabbled a few paces before him, and once his eyes opened again, he pointed dramatically into the crowd towards the first person he recognized.

“You there!” he shouted as he pointed at Daisuke, though he showed no hint of recognition and hoped Dai would understand what was going on. Reese massaged his temples acting as if her were concentrating very hard and then said, “Hold on… Daisuke, right? The spirits are trying to tell me something… There was something special about this month… you… gained a status… you…they say you graduated from the academy. They want to congratulate you!”

Reese looked to Daisuke for confirmation; if this was played right, the young shinobi would have a line of people waiting to throw money at him.

Daisuke looked at Reese for a second, before it registered what Reese wanted him to do. Yippe, he thought. Now I'm tangled up with a con artist. He mentally shrugged. He put on his best surprised-and-awed face.
"How did you know all that!?" he asked, playing the part of clueless bystander.

Suyaku was watching all of this in a big crowd gathered around. He scratched his head- he never really had an interest for these types of things.

"Uhh, hey. Mr. Fortune Teller?," he gave Reese and odd glare. "Think you could give it a try to tell my fortune?"
