Food for thought

[Satoru]

Satoru followed Ryu through the village streets. The village people they passed tried to get as far away from him as possible when they saw his hitai-ate. It didn't bother him too much but still it was unnerving. 'Can't people get it in their heads that if I wanted to kill them then they'd be dead.' Satoru frowned. 'I mean really, I'm walking next to one of their jounin but still they fear me.'
Glancing over at Ryu, he asked "Are we there yet?" and crossed his arms, pretending to pout.

[Ryusuke]

"You'll survive a few more seconds, you're a big boy," Ryu said grinning.
I wish everyone would stop staring at us... him... they know me, and would know I'd never let a dangerous person into the village! he thought. Then they arrived at the Ramen Shop.
"We're here now, happy?" he asked, "and if you ask nice, the Ramen man might give you a ramen cup in the shape of a smiley face!!"
He grinned. Teasing people was fun.

[Satoru]

"REALLY!!!" Satoru asked in a high pitched voice. "Smiley faces are soooo cool." They started laughing. After a few seconds they calmed down and sat. "I'll take a bowl of miso ramen please." He asked the ramen man. The man put a huge bowl of ramen in front of him. 'Wow thats pretty big. Hope it doesn't...' His thoughts trailed off when he saw the prices. 'Damn! I'm going to be broke after this.'

[Ryusuke]

I knew I liked this guy, Ryu thought as he stopped laughing.
He started laughing again as he saw Satoru's face when he saw the prices.
"What happened to 'I don't come cheap'?" Ryu asked, as he finally stopped laughing.
He sat down beside Satoru and ordered some pork ramen.
"Small... please," he added, grinning.

[Satoru]

Satoru begain to eat his ramen like he had been starved. Well, he had been living off the land for a couple days, and that does make you want some regular food. 'Hmmm.... Maybe I can get this guy to pay for my food.' Suppressing an evil grin he turned to Ryu. "How good a fighter are you?"

[Ryusuke]

"I'm a fair fighter," Ryu said, slurping his ramen, "but I only got enough money for my own meal, so don't be getting no ideas! I'm a nice guy, but I ain't that nice..."
"But if it's a fight you want, I'm game," he said, grinning.
"After my ramen," he said, taking another big bite.

[Satoru]

'Guess I couldn't keep that evil grin off my face, oh well.' Satoru quickly finished off his ramen. "That was really good." He grinned "Which direction are the training fields? I'm just wondering." Reaching into his pocket, he was horrified to find that he had only enough money for half a bowl of ramen.

[Ryusuke]

"Over this way," Ryu said, standing and stretching.
"Hurry up!" he said, halfway out the door, "I paid for us both!"
He glanced at the small pile of money on the counter and then sighed in impatience.
"Today!" he said, and left the building.
