Reese yawned loudly and sat up squinting as he looked around. The fact that he was on the floor wasn’t the most surprising thing; in fact, it was actually quite common. What really disturbed him was that it was a floor he didn’t recognize. His eyes followed the foreign floorboards, straight to an unfamiliar wall, all in all coming together to form an entirely unrecognizable room.

The pounding headache wasn’t helping matters either, but Reese slowly got to his feet and stood up slightly off balance. Searching for anything in his memory that would help explain his situation, Reese walked to the window and looked out. The sun was already a good ways up, meaning that not only did he not know where he was, but also he had overslept and would be late to class. He walked to the door, hand guiding him along the wall and moved down a flight of stairs.

Noise from the dining room attracted his attention and he poked his head in after catching a mouthwatering scent. The residents looked up in surprise when he gave a hearty good morning and picked up a biscuit from the table, and then strolled out the front door.

Under the sun, Reese looked skyward and followed the path of a bird flying overhead, “Ah… I must really be late…”

He pushed the biscuit into his mouth before slipping into the busy street. Still racking his brain for a clue as to why he had woken up in someone else’s house, Reese’s gaze fell on the Hokage Mountain. He lifted an eyebrow, “Enjoyin’ the show?” he asked quietly. Feeling he couldn’t hold it off any longer, Reese began the slow walk to the Academy.

((OOC: Hope no one minds a double post, just wanna get Reese moving a bit until membership gets a bit more active.))

Reese paused and looked up.

Clouds were quickly rolling in, and the distant rumble of thunder could be heard over the village’s natural ambience, “Ah damn…” he lamented flicking a strand of vibrant red hair that was hanging over his left eye, “Late and soaked, that’s a good combination,”

A sly smirk revealed itself, “Bit of rain and lightning never hurt anyone…” he remarked, “If that’s the best you can do, looks like I win.” Perhaps tempting fate was never a good thing, whether or not you believe in it, things tend to go wrong. Call it overconfidence or Karma, some things just never go right when you need them. The rain began to fall in sheets, almost instantly Reese’s gravity defying hair took on a deep blood red hue and collapsed.

“I didn’t mean that…” the boy confessed as the rain continued to drench him. Still, Reese stubbornly refused to alter the pace of his idle walk. Already many people were off the street, choosing to wait out the storm rather than work through it. Reese knew he couldn’t let the rain bother him, regardless of weather, ANBU and jounin sentries had to remain at their posts. If Reese couldn’t do it, how could he expect to join their ranks?

A flash of lightning overhead brought him to a dead stop; a worried look had replaced the defiant smirk. His sister hated this weather and if Keilani were caught outside in a lightning storm, there was bound to be a problem. Thinking about his sister brought a strong pang of guilt deep into his gut; almost as if it were happening right in front of him, Reese remembered promising to take her out for some training.

Instead I woke up in someone else’s house… he thought sullenly. Reese wondered if maybe Keilani had forgotten about it. If she had, then he wouldn’t feel too bad about forgetting as well, Pffft, what am I thinking? Lani never forgets those kind of things.

Another flash of lightning, this time accompanied by the roar of thunder crashed across the sky. The rain fell harder and the road was quickly becoming a muddy pit. Reese’s casual walk slowly evolved into a quick jog, and then to a flat out sprint, as his mind wandered to the last time Keilani had been out in a Storm, That wasn’t fun,

((OOC: Sorry, this topic was more of a backstory than an actual RP. It was just intended to show how Reese managed to get to the Academy.))
