Hi

I received an answer phone message this afternoon from Anne Sutton at Washingborough Community centre to say that a glass door on one of the display cabinets has been broken accidentally (while the room was being used by a kid's club).
Would someone be able to pop over and take a look to see what the damage is, please? At this stage I'm not sure whether we need to conatct the manufacturer or simply get a glazier in.

Thanks
Matt

Just happened to be passing after all. One of the glass doors is cracked through. I'm not sure what the answer is so I photographed it for you. dry.gif

Hi Pauline.
Thanks for having a look at it, I didn't have time (or a car at one stage) to get over there last week. I was worried that the door had been completely smashed, so it's not as bad as I thought. I suppose that we can probably just get a new piece of glass fitted by a glazier - apparently the child's parent has offered to pay for it. I wonder what on earth they hit it with!!! blink.gif

Steve - do you live anywhere near Pam Weetman? She has the keys for the cabinets and it would be useful if we could get them back.

Matt

Sorry Matt, I've been so busy lately. I did also call in and look at the glass and then went off somewhere and completely forgot about it! It must be old age rolleyes.gif

I was of the opinion that a piece of glass would fix it but being unable to open it, I couldn't tell how easy it was to put a new piece in. On the face of it, it looked like a simple job.

The glass appears to be standard window glass but for the extra few pence in cost I suggest safety glass is used. It is a building reg for doors but I don't know if the cabinet falls into this category. It is clear however that it could have fallen out and caused a serious injury had it landed on anyone.

Pam is just across the road from us I'll get the keys.

Hi Steve, not to worry I can empathise with you, I've got so much to do at the moment and never enough time! wacko.gif

I think safety glass would be a good idea too. Let me know when you have the keys and I'll probably ask Ann Sutton if they have used any reputable glaziers in the past - unless anyone in the group knows of a decent person?

Sorry it has taken a long time to go across the road but I do now have the keys for the cabinet. unsure.gif

I hope you had a good time and good weather, abroad? I managed to get just about the only warm & dry week we have had recently in South Wales. cool.gif

Just let me know what you want me to do with the cabinet. If you want me to meet someone on site during the working day, make it first or last thing.
