[CLAMP Cafe]

Introduction:

This story takes place two years after both series (xxxHolic and Tsubasa Chronicle). The crew of Tsubasa has decided to settle down in Tokyo, and in order to live at Yuuko's she has given them a very odd job. Yuuko has opened up a Maid Cafe, and they are now to work there. Watanuki, now a first year at a local college, is also forced to work at Yuuko's Maid Cafe, which she called the 'Cresent Moon Maid Cafe'.

What else is going on? Fai is the head chef at the Cafe, Watanuki and Doumeki being two of the other chefs. When the Cafe gets packed, Yuuko likes to make Watanuki dress up in the Maid Outfit and wait on tables. (Other chefs, possibly Yukito, Touya... whoever)

Tomoyo designed the maid outfits. Sakura, Himawari, Chii, and Tomoyo are some of the girls that dress up and wait on tables. Tomoyo is the hostess as well. Kurogane is the only waiter that do not dress up in the maid outfits. Kurogane is a waiter becouse of an incident in the kitchen a few months ago, and when they decided he would be waiting, there wasn't a maid dress in his size, and Yuuko didn't feel like spending the money to have it made.

((Because this rp was so cool when it was on Gaia...))

Yukito looked at all the spices in the aisle before him. He had to restock, or there was no way they'd have enough to make it through today. He knew because he stopped by the cafe already this morning and found it to be low. Good thing that he woke up early and had some time before others arrived to get the items.

He was greatful to have such a good job, and to have met such interesting people. He'd been surprised when he saw Sakura and Syaoran working there, instantly mistaking them for the two he knew. But once Yuuko explained, he noticed the difference and Yue picked fun at him for not noticing sooner. Because the guardian was perfect and knew.

Doumeki Shizuka was walking into the kitchen of the Crescent Moon Maid Cafe. There was a back entrance for employees to come in. He looked on one of the back shelves for aprons, and began to put it on and tie the straps around his waist as he walked toward the front part of the kitchen. This part was open slightly and the registers were at one end of the counter where customers could order. He could see Yukito was already here.

"Yo," he said greeting the early worker and began cleaning the stoves.

Kurogane leaned against the wall, staring out the door of the cafe. He held his waiting tray in his white-gloved hands and tapped his shiny black shoe absent-mindedly. The large crowds would not arrive until the afternoon, when the cafe would fill up with high schools girls and some boys (mostly boyfriends).

Kurogane was somewhat like a bouncer for the cafe. He made butler suits intimidating and set a standard for the customers that were allowed to enter. Any man that looked even remotely like he would molest any of their adorable female waitresses, mysteriously disappeared after seeing Kurogane who always stayed close to the door when he was not waiting tables. More than once, Kurogane had revealed his handicap, which was more of a strength than a weakness. People tended to run when Kurogane removed one of his white gloves and revealed a shiny metal hand. There were all kinds of stories about what that metal arm could do. That was another reason why shady male characters shied away from their cafe.

He glanced inside of the cafe, watching the girls clean off the table tops even though they were mostly already clean. Kurogane still could hardly believe they had all ended up in the same place together. He had become extremely attached to all the workers at the cafe even though he was as grouchy and moody as ever.

Yuuko normally didn't stop in on the cafe so early, but she had something important do this time. (More often than not she'd just be around to tease her employees.) Her black gloved hands carried her urgent business in a medium-sized shipping package, the tape on top already broken.

She aproached the front entrance and greeted Kurogane. "I'm glad to see you keep the ruffians out, but be careful you don't scare off the delicate flowers that keep this place running," she said with a devious smile.

Kurogane completely ignored Yuuko's statement in favor of glaring at her with all his force. "What are you doing here, witch?"

She raised an eyebrow. "Is that anyway to treat your employer?" she asked, but it was meant to be rhetorical so she instead changed the topic.

"Kuro-pi, be a dear and carry this box in for me?" she said cheerfully. "I'm sure it wouldn't be much of strain on the new arm of yours; mine are getting tired," and she faked her weariness as she held it out for him.

He kept his glare burning but took the box anyway. Yuuko was such a faker. Still, Kurogane truly was grateful to have an arm again. He liked doing things like carrying boxes and lifting heavy things now that he knew what it was like not to be able to do such things.

"Don't call me those stupid nicknames!!" He barked. Everyone got attached to those names because of Fay, but Kurogane still protested against them whenever he got the chance - unless it was Fay saying them. "Where do you want this?"

She ignored his yelling just as easily as he ignored her teasing.

Yuuko looked around the shop noticing customers hadn't arrived yet, as expected. "We'll set it down on one of the tables towards the back," she adjusted her purse with her now free arm. "It would be too crowded to open it behind the counter," she explained.

She followed Kurogane into the cafe, waving the girls over to see what was up.

"What's in here anyway?!" Kurogane complained as he moved towards the back of the cafe and set the box down on a table. Knowing Yuuko, it could be anything.

"It's nothing weird, is it?"

She chuckled at his last comment, "Well, it could be a bit weird supposing who you gave it to."

Yuuko stood over the table, flipping open the box to reveal it's contents. Pretty much all you could immediatly see was an abudant amount of frills and lace. "I was so happy to see the good craftsmenship when this came yesterday evening," she said rather happily.

She looked back at Kurogane, "It's just a little something for the girls." She picked up her voice so it could be heard in the kitchen, "And Watanuki too, if Doumeki would approve."

Kurogane was horrified when he saw the contents of the box, thinking there was something for him in there. He showed visible relief when she mentioned they were for the girls and Watanuki (who might as well be a girl anyway in Kurogane's opinion.)

"Why do we have to dress the girl's in these things anyway?" Kurogane asked as he picked up a lacy object and turned it over in his hand distastefully. His little princesses, Sakura and Tomoyo, shouldn't be prancing around in these kinds of things. Yuuko was such a bad influence on them...

"Because the outfits are cute, Kuro-chan." Fay said, walking into the cafe. He was a little late, but made up for it with bags of items that they were running low on in the store. He had caught the tail end of the conversation and had decided to put his two cents in.

"You just have no sense of what looks cute, and what does not." Fay grinned as he walked over to the group, setting his bags down on the counter. He glanced into the kitchens, chuckling a bit when he saw Yukito and Doumeki diligently at work already.

"Yuko-san, however, has a wonderful sense of style, and her decisions should not be questioned."

Kurogane scowled when Fay came in to butt in on their conversation. While he was still as good as ever at making unhappy faces whenever he saw Fay, everyone, including the blond knew that Kurogane was only ever happy to see the mage everyday.

"Stop sucking up to the witch," Kurogane pouted, tossing the lacy thing back with the others. He went to look at the items Fay had brought in and began putting them away... because Kurogane was helpful like that.

"I'm not sucking up to her." Fay replied, "I'm just paying compliments where compliments are due." Fay explained while Kurogane began putting the various items in the bags away. Ok, so he was sucking up to Yuko a little, but majority of his words came from his heart, for serious.

"You don't have to do that, Kuro-puppy." Fay said, taking a few items from the bags and putting them away himself, "I can do it. You're being helpful, but it's not needed...See? Compliments where compliments are due!"
