This takes place about two years after the "Back To School" Role play Subaru and I did in the DouWata guild on Gaia (which was a spin off from "Summer Donuts") After writing a bunch of drabbles when the role play was at a hault, a specific drabble caught our eyes (well, Subaru's mostly). The drabble was entitled 'Canvas', and it took place some time in the future after the characters had gone off to college. So now we have decided to start the college rp.

We haven't decided if this rp is closed or open.. But we know the OCs best, so I will wait until I get to talk to Subaru again so we can decide.

"Shindou-kun! Shindou-kun!" Himawari yelled across the platform as she saw Shindou and Asaha approaching from different directions.

It was a rather cold November evening, and he was just meeting up his cousin and other friends to go to a new theme park. He had a sneaking suspicion that the outing was Matsumoto's idea.

They had all recently started going to a university in Tokyo, and somehow the self-proclaimed 'Core' members of the Kyuudo club from their days at Cross Private High School had stuck together. Along with Watanuki, and Kunogi. Asaha wasn't really sure how it all worked out, but he was really glad it had, even if all his friends had been paired up and he was still alone. They were good friends after all.

Asaha swayed to the side, looking into his backpack at his cell phone. His mom wanted him to stop at the market on the way home that night. He still lived with his mom, but his cousin already had his own apartment, he only got it a few months ago, but still.

He waved to Kunogi.

Shindou walked across the platform toward his cousin, a smile on his face.

"I'm ready to go then, what abou you?"

"Oi, we're going to be late," Doumeki monotoned, pulling his jacket on and looking for his shoes. Weren't they at the door earlier.

"Kimihiro, did you move my shoes?" he asked as he continued to look for his shoes.

"I didn't touch them," he answered, calling from the kitchen where he was finishing the last of four bentos he had decided to prepare for the group.

A few seconds later, he came out with a small backpack holding the food and a blanket, setting it beside him as he sat down in the doorway.

Two years hadn't changed Watanuki dramatically- he was a bit taller, but still shorter than his boyfriend. His hair was now cut longer, drifting around his cheeks and in his face, touching his shoulders at the longest. His eyes seemed a bit smaller compared to his face, but they still had that nice, exotic lift at the corners, only accentuated by the one golden eye.

He pulled his own shoes on with a sigh, and then his jacket- he couldn't really remember how it had gotten on the floor- Doumeki's shoes were under it. Probably the lug's fault.

"Well, there you go."

He turned his head at the sound of preening, smiling faintly as a long furry snake-like creature wrapped around his upper arm and neck, rubbing its head against his cheek with a soft whine. "You know you can't come today, Mugetsu."

Watanabe Jun and Matsumoto Ito showed up together- it wasn't particularly surprising. Having been friends since middle school and neither having too much money, they shared a room in the college dorms. They walked towards the small group and suddenly Matsu shoved his friend, taking off towards the rest in a run, Nabe hot on his heels.

He skidded to a halt next to the older cousin with a grin before Watanabe caught up, smacking him in the back of the head before slinging an arm around his girlfriend. "Just the ghost-freaks then?"

"That's not nice!" Himawari said with a slight laugh. She shifted slightly to hug her boyfriend when he reached her, a bright smile on her face as usual.

Asaha frowned, those two were always at it. He sighed, it couldn't really be helped.

"I wonder how long we will have to wait. They don't live that far away from the trainstation, do they, Himawari-chan?"

"Not really," Himawari said, shaking her head.

Doumeki slipped his shoes on, wondering if he should be the one carrying the backpack, then took it from the smaller boy, slipping it on his shoulders.

"There'd better be rice balls in there, with ume and salmon."

Watanuki shot Doumeki a dark look but didn't answer, pulling Mugetsu off him gently and setting him on the coat rack before slipping outside. He'd decided a while ago it wasn't really worth the effort. Shizuka would eat the damn things anyway. Besides, it was more habit now than anything.

Matsumoto, not caring particularly about what was going on now but just excited for a fun day, looped an arm around Shindou's shoulders and dragged the smaller boy against his chest, wrapping his other arm around his waist, resting his chin on top of the boy's head. "Nya~ I'm tired of waiting for those silly boys all the time. They should stop making out in dark corners and stuff."

Doumeki let out a slight laugh at Watanuki's glare. He had laughed a lot more since he and Watanuki started dating. He left a light kiss on the top of Watanuki's head, and put an arm around his shoulders as they walked down the stairs and out into the cold autumn air.

Shindou's eyes widened slightly as Matsumoto pulled him close, his face turning bright red. He put his arms around Matsumoto for a quick hug, but was soon trying to pull away. Matsumoto was alwasy doing stuff like this in public, even before they were dating Matsumoto was so touchy feely.

"Ito, I doubt that is what they are doing... Knowing Watanuki.. He probably was busy making us lunch because he hates the park food or something."

Kunogi giggled and Asaha rolled his eyes. He wanted to hang out with his friends at the part, but did they have to do that sort of stuff all the time? Fifth wheel...

"Whatever. Kimi-kun would make us food even if the park had the best meals." He nuzzled the side of the man's head, completely unwilling to drop his hold on him. Even at this age he was just too adorably uke for words, all flustered and flushed. He did so love the boy.

Watanuki smiled when he reached the group, holding a hand out in greeting. "Let's go; it's been too long." By that he didn't mean since they had seen each other. After all, they hung out regularly. Instead he meant since they had taken a day off together. Usually they got a few hours in, but someone or other would have work or class or something.

Watanabe smiled apologetically to his favorite mini-archer, ruffling Asaha's hair.

"Yo," Doumeki greeted the group, lifting the hand not attackhed to Watanuki in a sort of slight wave. They were just in time, the train was just getting in, and he had the tickets ready. Not that he would need them until the train started moving anyway.

He led the others in, looking for seats that were close together in the rather crowded train. There were a few families, some groups of high school girls and a few elderly people sitting in seats, or standing holding a pole near their group.

He found enough seats for all of them, a few were across from where some of them were sitting, but that was alright, in fact it was ideal. Better for them to look across then to be turning around to look at each other. He was sure his friends would most likely be obnoxiously loud anyway. Watanuki was already loud, Matsumoto would be pretty loud, and then get Shindou riled up enough to yell, and Watanabe, while not as loud, had one of those voices that carried no matter what the volume he spoke in.

Kunogi took a seat near a window, sitting across from Asaha. Shindou frowned when he realized there were only six seats. Someone would either have to stand or sit on someone's lap. He guessed the others would all end up getting sits before him and then Matsumoto... god damn..

True to the thought, Matsu leaned against a seat and took a look at the arrangement, cocking his head. Six seats... seven people.

He shrugged and flopped down across from the girl, pulling Shindou down on his lap carelessly.

Watanabe sat next to his girlfriend, rolling his eyes at Matsumoto's grin.

Watanuki stared at them with an 'I can't believe I know these people' look, sitting in the aisle seat.

Doumeki looked out the window for a moment, it didn't matter at all to him what his friends did as long as they didn't get into trouble.

"Ito!" Shindou yelled at first, but after some struggling, he just let out a sigh and relaxed against his boyfriend.

"I knew you were going to do that," he said in a lower tone, clearly aggitated.

"Then stop acting so surprised," he answered sweetly, nibbling on the boy's ear lightly.

Watanuki rolled his eyes, glad that there was a seat between him and the overly-amorous Matsumoto. It was... too much, for him. Holding hands with Doumeki was- all he needed, and all he wanted. To fall asleep on his shoulder, maybe. (Not now, of course.)

Eh.

"Ito.." was all he said in response. His face was bright red. The train began to move, starting off slow, and then accelerating, slowing slightly more as it went under buildings and bridges. It stopped at the designated stops. He couldn't remember which stop they were getting off, but he was sure the others did.

"Ito.. was this your idea?" he asked in almost a whisper, he didn't want to be too loud with all the people around.

He grinned at the boy but didn't answer. The truth was, Doumeki had thought it up and called him with the idea, asking Matsumoto to spread the word without including his name.

He knew that people would assume he had planned it- it was bound to happen, he'd been placed in that role ever since he'd gotten all of Kyuudo to eat lunch together all that time ago.

He shrugged lightly, sinking into the seat and turning his head to look out the window, arms still safely secured around the boy's waist.

Shindou smiled, relaxing more. The trip would probably be a while, and he wanted to at least be comfortable. Even if he gave Matsumoto a hard time about it, he really enjoyed being close, it was just that public displays of affection made him very self conscious especially after that day he had been stuck in the hallway. But he didn't want to think about that.

After a while, he fell asleep, unconciously cuddling against Matsumoto.

Asaha was still staring at the window, and at some point, Kunogi had fallen asleep as well, letting her head rest on Watanabe's shoulder.

Doumeki lightly squeezed Watanuki's hand. His only real sign of affection when they were out, though he did tend to put an arm around him sometimes.

The train made mores stops, and after an hour and a half, they finally reached their destination.

Watanuki read the book he had been assigned for Classical Japanese with one hand, the other firmly lodged in Doumeki's.

Every once in a while he'd glance at Doumeki out of the corner of his eyes (he'd abandoned his glasses some time during Freshman year, one contact lodged in his blue eye- the golden one had good vision, of course.)

Occasionally, he'd share a passage in a quiet voice, but he was never really sure if Doumeki was listening.

He tucked it back into the bag's front pocket as the train came to a stop, glancing about as everyone else was shaken awake by someone or another. They lingered until the other moving passengers left before sliding out, not in particular hurry.

"Right or left?" Watanuki asked, stepping onto the platform.
