Yes.

As I'm currently working on this, I just want to make a thread for it. So that I can get some input on ideas, features and such.

My plan is to make it much more advanced than IslandBiz 1, which was very simple and easy. This time I will use objects(OOP) for each citizen.

It means that every single citizen got their own set of features, and needs.
A floating economy based on income from citizens, also immigrants etc.
If you let many poor people move in they might not make that much money.

A short list of what will be simulated/calculated within each citizen.

- Food, they eat food to heal, and it costs money.
- Cash, they all got their own economy(also different income classes).
- Health, yep they can get sick. Virus/disease or just getting old.
- Age, well it explains itself tongue.gif
- Male of Female, pretty basic feature.
- Thoughts, they will react to tax adjusting. Government spending etc.
- Happiness, for females this adjusts how many child's they will have.
- Things to spend money on, home, car etc. This will affect happiness and income.
- Criminals, if people are very poor and un-happy, they might become criminals.
- Random accidents tongue.gif

Now that is just the basics of what I'm adding. smile.gif
Since it demands quite a lot of cpu to simulate like 250 000 of them, I'm thinking about making the game more like Tropico, just a smaller scale than IslandBiz 1.

So, any ideas? Do you think this will be fun/interesting ?

Sounds Exactly like Tropico, just you want to have a giant population.
I would have preferred a better, economic and political model in Tropico.

Kinda like even if you economy is good and a large % of people liked you you could still get rebels.

Well, giant or giant. I'm guessing a typical game would be around
5000 to 20 000 citizens maybe. Depends on how advanced I make
every citizen, and the amount of cpu power with a combination of gamespeed.

EDIT:

Right now there are more stuff going on in 1 citizen of IslandBiz 2, than the whole
game of IslandBiz 1 tongue.gif

It's been laying dead for a while. It was made back when I was using VB.NET too.
But I dunno if I have the projectfiles, but it's not planned to be converted to english.

I'm still fiddling with some of the GUI. General layout of it, color-scheme etc.
Also I've been hit by some flu lately, sour throat etc.

But I'm getting much better, and
next week I wont have any work. So I can use my time only on C# projects biggrin.gif

Yes, great ideas. I got so many ideas floating around, it's hard to choose
which one to start with tongue.gif But it's great with idea-talk/discussion etc smile.gif

EDIT:

I'm adding the menu right now, where you can select how big pop you start with.
Also how much cash to start off with. And a new feature for IslandBiz 2, you can
now choose from 4 islands, each got their own "abilities" like unstable weather,
climate, bonus for tourism etc.
