Terms of Service, Otherwise known as "Rules"

This is a work in progress. (Since I can't copy the ones we use on VH just now. *coughcough*).

All the applicable rules of VH go for this site too. If you cause trouble here, you may very well find yourself banned from VH as well.

Registration:

* You must register with the name of your character on VH.

* Registering with someone else's character name will get you banished.

* When VH returns, steps will be taken to verify ownership of your account before you're allowed to post here.

* Accounts that do not correspond to a VH character will be deleted without warning.


Content

You may not post writing, links or images with any of the following:
* Vulgar or obscene images or language

* Profanity (otherwise know as bad words, curse words, etc. You know what I mean).

* Defamatory, threatening, or abusive language towards any member of the site

* Advertisements for any product or site unless excepted below.

* Spam!

* Material not suited for children (anything over PG or not allowed on VH)

* Any information regarding illegal hacking activities or piracy.

* Personal information about you or anyone on this site or VH.

Much of the above is adapted from Invisionfree's Terms of Service. Meaning violations won't just get you banned, but they could get the site shutdown. Be good for all our sakes. ^_^

Also, while this site is called Off Topic, please try to keep your posts and topics at least loosely related to VH and/or Harry Potter. A couple dozen "What do you think of this band?" polls are a spammy waste of bandwidth.


Allowable Links:
As stated above, Advertising is not allowed on this site in general, but a few links are allowed. These include:

* Links to topics posted on VH (of course!)

* Links to doll base sites or other graphic resource sites.

* Links to journals or homepages or images for your VH characters.

* Links to Harry Potter news (but not to other roleplaying boards).


Forum Rules:

Most forum's will have their own set of rules depending on the purpose of the forum (games, dolling, graphics, etc.). Check the pinned topics in the forum for any guidelines before posting there.

One rule that applies to every forum: You may not post any material created by someone else and claim it as your own. In fact, you may not post it at all unless you have the original author or artist's express permission.


A Reminder:
Be respectful to your fellow VHers. Unlike VH, this site is entirely OOC (Out of Character). Be careful what you say to other people and how you say it because you don't have your 'mean' character to hide behind.

Banned members:

If you are banned from VH, you will be banned from this board as well. Period.

Banishment is permanent. I thought I should clear this up. Unfortunately, a few people who've been banned from VH have been given hope by the fact that this is a new board. That's not the case. Sorry, guys.

Did someone post something that they weren't supposed to (as in, they are banned, they use foul language, aren't PG, etc)?

Please PM or e-mail any situation that arises to Eos before sending it to Nemesis. She's busy enough. :) Eos (me) is going to be helping out moderating the Off-Topic section, so she doesn't have to.

A REMINDER REGARDING GRAPHICS

Any form of graphic (whether it be in your signature, or an avatar) which is sexual in nature is prohibited on VH itself, as well as VHOT. This includes sexually suggestive graphics, such as those featuring partial nudity, suggestive text, and provocative photos.
