Signs That You're Spending Too Much Time On Vh, Inspired by Abigail Freewell

YOU'RE SPENDING TOO MUCH TIME ON VH IF...

• You have the urge to write your VH charrie's name whenever you're signing something in RL.
• You start randomly clinging to others (see VH is down thread).
• Your RL friends get sick of your mad obsession with the site.
• You don't know what a life is.
• You spend hours on end making a Podcast.
• You name you child/pet after a VHer.
• You have no RL and no VHL and then suddenly they all pop up at once.
• You actually choose VH over your RL.
• Your friends stare at you like your crazy when you tell them its a Quidditch week and you can't do anything.
• You sneak over to your brothers computer and unplug his wireless internet card because its slowing down the internet (during Quidditch week of course).
• Spending time on VH, whether for dueling, Quidditch, or general RP'ing, is a good excuse not to leave the house at all for a long time, especially if you have a vacation planned.
• You no longer find lists of different signs of spending too much time, lists of things not to do while at Hogwarts and lists of things not to teach first years funny any more.
• You think unsual names like Lorenzo or Ignatius or Narcissa or Draco are sototallycool.
• You used to get excited about sorting, now you dread it.
• You used to play Quidditch until your Doctor tells you to cut down on the stress.
• You spend more time online at VH than you spend with your family.
• You'd rather be RP'ing than opening Christmas presents.
• You start to narrate your RL and things happening around you.
• You've started referring to non VHers as "Muggles".
• You start writing a book inspired off of one of your VH plots, with a main character inspired by your VH character and others.
• As soon as you log on and take a look at the board index you can instantly say a thing or two about every name you see there(which character from which house is ,who is their celeb...)
• People from RL start to remind you of people from VH, not the other way around.
• You check on VH for any duels/thread updates the minute you wake up, even when you have to leave for school/work in minutes
• The only thing that gets you off the computer is the sunrise (and in those cases, how can you not love winter?)
• You do all your VH homework and ignore RL homework and then realize it was the other way around.
• You work at a movie store and say "That's a move with <insert VHer name> and <Insert other VHer name>" Or if you go to pick a movie and say "OMG Its <insert VHer name here>
• You go to the HP book parties as your charrie!
• You RP outside of VH (as in RL).
• You see random people on the street who look like they might be on vh, and you ask them if they play ____________ (name).
• You have dreams about your charrie.
• You start to fantasize about meeting other VHers in RL (stalkerish, much?)
• You start using your charrie's name in other stories (guilty as charged, but my graphic novel character had the name Ananke first).
• You find out that your eyesight has gotten way worse over the year because you're always looking and typing on a computer screen, whereas it should have been more gradual.
• You respond when someone uses your characters name in RL.
• "Quidditch" is a valid reason not to make plans for a week.
• You go into a video store and look at movies just to find a look-alike for your character.
• You read magazines/tabloids to find a look-alike for your character.
• When you log on at school, see you're being stalked, and tell the two people next to you who really do not care (newsflash!).
• You use your Free Write time in English to write replies to RP's that you magically have in your backpack which magically came out of your printer that morning.
• You sneak onto VH during any of your classes while you're supposed to be doing research.
• You use JK Rowling as an author to do a biography on and check VH because it's Harry Potter and your teacher doesn't care because you've assured him/her that you might find something about JKR on the site.
• You find VH blocked on your school computers and realize you have no other need for a computer... So you sit in the library for a whole 40 minutes staring at the "BLOCKED BY SONICWALL" screen waiting for study hall to be over.
• You refresh the page every five minutes to see if someone replied to your RPs. Even though they are not on.
• You start calling your RL friends by your characters/characters friends names.
• You start acting like your character in RL.
• You make up a total MarySue character in your head and RP with them on Word when you're extremely bored.
• You start referring to all of your RL classes as your VH ones (ex. Science = Potions, P.E. = Flying, etc.)
• You blatanly ignore screams from siblings because you're trying to finish that RP.
• yYou want to apply for a teaching posistion, so you read nothing else besides the topic you want to teach, and the librarians just hand you the books as soon as you walk in the door.
• You go around looking for lists like this and start thinking of it like a "to do" list
• VH is down, you spend all your time on VHOT clicking the link for 'Return to Virtual Hogwarts' every two minutes to see if it's back up yet.
• VH is down, you type in www.virtual-hogwarts.org every thirty seconds to see if it's returned yet.
• VH is down you go around cursing people by saying something along the lines of "four-oh-four, be ye not found".
• (In accordance with previous entry) Someone uses those numbers in that sequence, you twitch uncontrollably.
• You say (in RL) 'OOC' or 'double parenthesis' when you want to make a comment to your self or just say something weird.
• You are reading this thread because there is nothing better to do on VH and/or it is down.
• VH is your homepage, even if it's not your computer.
• You see VH refrences EVERYWHERE.
• You start matching VH personalities with the people around you.
• You worry more about your character's love life than your own.
• You accidentally write your character's name on your RL homework.
• You're in a bad mood when your character is.
• You start moping around when your character has a tragedy.
• You're late for a date to make a Quaffle turn in quidditch.
• You proof read your RPs more than you proof read your RL papers.
• You rush home from work/school just to see if anything good has happened.
• The Death Eaters actually scare you.
• You don't pay attention in class because you're writing an RP.
• Your WP/QP/Post Count is higher than your IQ.
• Your boyfriend/girlfriend is jealous of VH.
• You enjoy your character's boyfriend/girlfriend more than your own.
• You have fights with your boyfriend/girlfriend about your character's boyfriend/girlfriend.
• You eventually stop dating your boyfriend/girlfriend because he/she cannot accept the fact that VH is important to you and won't stop annoying you about it.
• You cry and panic when the site is down or really slow.
• You quote your character in RL.
• You notice a girl/guy walking down the street and wish you had a camera or that the person was famous, because they would make a great look-a-like for your character.
• You start talking to yourself so you can appropriately answer a post.
• You develop split personalities, just so the conversations can go on.
• You get in trouble for yelling at your siblings to leave you alone while you're on VH.
• You rack up more hours thinking about/typing for VH than anything else, like schoolwork and whatnot.
• You make up ideas for new charries even if you're already up to your neck with work for your other charries.
• You wish one of your friends was famous so that they could be your charrie's celeb
• Your computer's history says Virtual Hogwarts, or VHOT for at least ten links
• You pine for VH whenever it's down.
• You will occasionally mispell "London" the city, as "Lundon", the VHer.
• Even though you're sorted, you saw the Get Sorted button and flipped out.
• Your RL friends know the names of your VH friends because you won't shut up about them.
• Your mother asks you if you're winning the Quidditch game at dinner.
• Even when you are having an awesome time with something/someone, VH's sorting coming out today is the first and foremost thing on your mind.

That is so true. I write my name as Charlie Barrett in summer camp these days, my friends get really annoyed at me about telling them how VH is really great, I don't have a life, and I call people muggles. <_< Some thing's wrong with me.

I don't think it really would matter, though, because my RL name is soooooo common.

Almost done it so many times, but I stoped myself right when I say, "Mu-" So, pretty much. It's quite funny actually.

You respond when someone uses your characters name. Oh god. There's this girl at my school named Skye. X.x One time someone like shouted across the hallway "SKYE!" And I was like "Yeah?" I felt so dumb. XD
