Ok if some of you missed it I re made Kitts front end.
Couple reasons, the front had some fatique and was showing a couple cracks from the last race. The shocks on Kitt are taken from our old cars back end and are 12 inch shocks not 10 inch shocks they stick up a lot taller.
Last Kitt's wheel base is only 95 inches long and Class 3000 Lite class allows you to have all the way up to 103 inches.

So do to all these reasons Pepper and I decided to go ahead and redo Kitts front end and fix all of these problems to the best of our ability. Just this side of buying new shocks that where smaller I came up with the best way to lower them as I could and also gained 1.5 more inches of wheel travel... now that is awesome.

So I was able to fix all three problems and Kitt is much better now.
Here is a before photo of Kitt.

And here is a after shot with her new lower front shocks mounts.. sorry still the bigger shocks but they are at least lower. New 103 inch wheel base and a double X brace system to hold the front together. Almost finished photo.

After everything was checked and re checked we took off to the desert to do some testing on Kitt to see how she was going to handle and act being longer.

We would need to revalve the shocks adjust the coils and see how she acted.
There is a place in Barstow we test so we headed back there to take some new video so we could compare it to older videos of us testing there back in the day.

Here is Kitt before running in this very big bowl like whoops... they are so big Kitt fits into them!
Here

and running the other direction

Now with the longer wheelbase, 1.5 more inches of wheel travel, lower shock mounts and the new Web Racing Cam we go back and test again.

First video

going the other way

And last the fastest section I could find with the least amount of big whoops to just see what a fast pass could look like and how fast it can be done.

I am not saying anything.... You be the judge!

Now that is what I call a job well done.

She looks a lot faster. But the question is how does she feel and how much faster her lap times will be. She looks good with her new nose out there on the track.

Well you know me, I dont know a whole lot about cars and Tut is the suspension guy, so I just get in and drive... laugh.gif

Even I NOTICED a huge difference in her handling. Her ass end was not squirly, she flew threw woops like nothing. thumbs_up.gif

I noticed instead of her going in and out of the whoops she went across them....Really saw the front suspension working great!

Im super psyched at her new front end. Tut did a great job as usual!! blowkiss.gif I really hope our lap times show a big improvement, cause lord knows I need to hold my points!! AHHHHHHHHH blink.gif

Wish you could have made it out I hope the concert was a blast! Cant wait till the sept Race!!! eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif

Hey no worries about not making it out for just some testing.. we can handle that just make sure you make it to the race that is most important and where you guys
are such a great help to us. Thank you.

As for Kitt doing better I have no doubt in my mind she is doing much better.
I would have been happy to just see a mile or two faster lap time and never felt a difference but I can tell you, you can feel the difference.
She is faster, smoother and soaks up even bigger stuff easier.
She goes through the little whoops at full speed! She can take these monster whoops in 3rd gear almost flat out and that is awesome.
She does not speed wobble or get sideways when on fast sections and we can now put the motors power to the ground and feel safe and fast.

I don't know if it will help us win but it will help us go faster and smoother so
that is awesome and a big step in the right direction to winning right?

I just want Pepper to be able to feel safer, handle Kitt better and not feel so squirrely out on the track and I think these changes have done that so I am very, very happy.
Plus Kitt needed no changes or modifications to the front end and was running dead on all day through whatever we put it through!
How cool is that to nail the front end first try. thumbs_up.gif

Well we look forward to seeing you guys at the race we have a few things that came up to take care of before the race.
The front main seal blew out as far as I can tell as it really lost a ton of oil. About a paper plate size puddle was on the trailer and ground.
A Bypass shocks is leaking and you can see the oil running down the shock on to the lower arm.
And last thing nothing big but she has a flat I need to fix.
Then just prep work and greasing and I think we are all set to really give her some serious testing at the next race and see how all the new mods do.
I am nervous of course but I am sure it will be fine.

Thanks again for all the input and support everyone

It is not Christine and I. We are not Kitts bad luck charm. (at least not the only ones) ROFL.gif It is Kitt. She is going thru her terrible threes. She is being defiant. Bad Kitt. gun_bash.gif

Anyways hope it isn’t too bad when you find out what exactly is wrong with the oil being every were but the in the engine. Scratch.gif

Good luck

Ha ha ha....We are going to try again to pull this motor and back to Eddie she goes...I think she was just a bit over full and when we ran her....she got a little pissy. Like you said she is in her defiant stage. We would never say you and Christine are bad luck...you have been great to us!! blowkiss.gif blowkiss.gif

She is going to be fine...a few time outs in the corner, and she will be back to good. The shocks are not her fault though...they are their own entity icon_razz2.gif (they one that is leaking anyways)

I think we will be around this weekend...give us a ring if your in the area...stop by!! always love seeing you guys notworthy.gif

Oops, Jason is logged in right now. Oh well! It's not him its me! oops.gif

I am so glad she is working better. I can't wait to experience her first hand in October! I am so excited! And we wish we could have made testing but we will definitely be there for the race. We still want to drag you out on the quad to run the track a little sometime before hand. We will put Tut on the back of the quad with Jason. laugh.gif

I sounds like she is definitely throwing a tantrum, but I have heard that good babies make the worst teenagers! We will have to send her to Miss Martee's Doggie Boot Camp and see if they can't whip her into shape. ROFL.gif

We will not be around this weekend. My old fart boyfriend's birthday is on monday and so we are going to the aquarium on saturday. We dan do dinner friday night if you guys arent too busy? Just an idea.

Anyway, she looks great. I will have to get a picture of her at the right angle for the hoodies I want my friend to make. And whenever you can get me the logo and sizes for hoodies I can make him start.
