Me and a small group pf mates (4 to 8 of us) are hoping to cycle the length of the river Rhine from Amsterdam to its source in the Swiss Grand Canyon, but none of us have much cash....
We were planning to do things proper tramp sylee with pieces of tarp, wildcamping in places we wouldnt be seen. Now we find that they're actually pretty damn strict about this kind of thing nowadays and if we were to get caught camping wild we could end up in deep doggy doo. Our once adhock dream now seems a finacial impossability. Does anyone have any advice about how we could still make this tour happen apart of raising several hundered pounds to pay for campsites? Or does anyone know about "camping on the farm", a kind of low end camping system i beleive. Does anyone know how widespread these are along the Rhine and about prices etc? I look forward to reading your European yarns! - Ed J |

I have done a few tours ....Austria, Slovakia, Poland, France, Spain etc and have intermingled campsites with camping wild....I have never had any problems with the latter, but then again I have travelled alone, so I doubt this would be of any use to you...But one thing, there are always out of the way places so I wouldnt worry over it, just go and experience.
