Banner made by me ^^

Based on the idea of Em (x~em~x), Lara (MissLCB) and myself (Sophie-Lou), the hug line is basically a thread where you can say who you want to hug, why and we can then get all random. Believe me, this is a sob thread where we can feel sorry for all the character who have had sad moments in Doctor Who (or Torchwood)...

Although the Doctor gets most of the hugs, it seems^^

PS: I couldn't get any hugging pictures from Doctor Who... so I put kisses instead, heh ^^

RULES

1.) Anyone can start a hug line ^^
2.) No one owns the hug line; the hug line belongs to everyones who choose to get into the line.
3.) Anyone from Torchwood/Doctor Who can be subject of a hug line.
4.) You must explain why you want to hug line someone (e.g: The Doctor cried and said he was scared in '42'. Martha was treated badly in 'Human Nature'. Gwen thinks Rhys is dead etc. etc.)
5.) You need someone to second the hug line by agreeing to join the line.
6.) Be crazy and random people--this was started by the craziest Doctor fans on this board^^
7.) If the character has more than one hug line, I will add (*) a star next to their name.

HUG LINES SO FAR

Jack - (The Doctor ran away from him; he got shot by Owen; he lost Estelle and Jack 41.)
Jack 41 - (He lost Jack and was going to die anyway.)
Tenth Doctor* - (He was scared - bless him!)
John Smith - (He died for a good cause, even if he was nasty to Martha.)
Martha Jones - (She has saved the Doctor tones of time and looked after him in a way very few of his companions have - certainly not any recent one.)
Susan Foreman - (Because she lost her grandfather - the Doctor.)
First Doctor - (Because he lost his granddaughter - Susan.)
Sophie-Lou - (Me, because I had a birthday and probably because I make them some of their banners...)
Professor - (Because he seemed all alone in the world and didn't understand why he was there.)
Sixth Master* - (Poor, naive anti-Doctor doesn't know that they are the only ones left it seems... he's cute too ^^)
Master + Doctor - (Because they are the Last of the Time Lords.)
TARDIS - (Because everyone loves a TARDIS.)
PARDIS - (Because everyone loves the TARDIS, and seeing it become a PARDIS makes you wanna hug it.)
Ianto - (Because his girlfriend died, and he makes good coffee.)

Although, i don't think anyone really knows what the hugline is, except us three...

But the Doctor gets the most hugs definitly, then i think its between TW Jack and Martha...

I hereby claim Captain Jack Harkness (The Real), to start my hug-line with others to follow...

The look on his face after Jack kisses him and that salute always leaves me in tears...He really looks like he needs a hug after that!! :wub:

Lol and you can't make your own hug line, it doesn't really work like that... but it's hard to explain now... i don't want to lol it takes too long...

Basically, the rules are that you feel sorry for someone or hear something sad - for example, the Doctor being scared in '42', crying out for Martha and so on... That deserves a hug, so you call for a hug line by screaming HUG LINE!

yeah, but you need to have more than one person to want to hug that person 'cos otherwise you can't have a hug line. Theres other smaller rules but you kind of have to pick them up. But us T.T-ers were the founders of it though hehe!

Me and lara were talking about it at lunch, it randomly popped up while we were talking about something completely different. We were wondering who came up with it? me you or Lara? Or was it just one of those things where all three contributed...?

All three of us really did it... I said that seeing the Doctor scared made me want to hug him, you said me too, Lara said she did as well... then it was a join the queue case... next thing you know, we're all screaming HUG LINE!

I just thought that was the most moving moment for the Doctor, as the Doctor, in '42' when he was crying out to Martha all the time, begging her to help him, crying that he was scared. He also got on to explaining re-generations too...

"Martha, when I'm about to die, there's this thing that happens..."

I know what you mean crying out to martha begging to her for help and crying cos he was scared... AWWW I WANT TO HUG HIM!!! thats the only time we've ever seen the doctor so scared he crys and so scared he actually admits to it. I think it was because it hurt and stuff, also because he didn't know what to do and also he was terrified if he gave in he could kill Martha and stuff... AWWW luff him!!!

I didnt like John smith at first but he's grown on me. Joan was right. He was braver than the doctor in a sense, dying for the greater good. But i guess the doctor wouldn't actually mind dying so much now, cos he's lived so long (NOT THAT THATS AN EXCUSE!!!) But Smith was alright in the end... he even got a hug from Joan when he started crying, she obviously agrees with the whole hug line thing....

And i loved it in 42 when the doctor tried to explain about regenerations and Martha wouldn't listen, it was almost funny lol.

Martha and Doc hugged... those two have hugged so much this series, mainly because Martha keeps saving his life. She agrees with the hug line thing, maybe we should let her join her gang. And give her a nice girly hug because she was so brave^^

i second that!! Yeah i noticed that, they hug every episode practically. But i don't actually mind i think its quite nice and it's the Doctor kind of saying thanks, and i know your still there even if i dont always pay attention to you, and i do appreciate it. oh yeah and thanks for saving my life lol. She does it almost every episode now doesnt she... honary hug line member hehe


Also this is slightly off topic but have you noticed the doctor has started to get a bt more darker and ruthless now rose has gone...?

No, but that's because I've seen the Doctor all through his lives. If you knew what the Doctor was like before then you wouldn't either.

I feel somewhat out of the loop as I am yet to see the Doctor, Martha and the new series as of yet but what the heck...

I had read about the Doctor becoming darker since Rose left too...same was said about Jack when he became leader of Torchwood... Coincidence or not?? I'll let you decide!! -_-

Can i suggest Rose to though for a girly hug? Because i know it's been annoying recently because of all the times she gets mentioned... but think back to when we really did love her and she got torn away from the doctor and then when they say each other again when the doc was just an image thingy and she said i love you and the doctor almost said - something.... She definitly needed a hug then, cos she had been very loyal and stuff, saving the doc countless times...


And maybe Gwen too, cos she is nice and deserves one but i can't really be bothered to put all the reasons but im sure you all know what i mean anyways...

I have see he second series and the third should be shown sometime this year, but I have a feeling it won't be the same without Rose... :(

If I'm honest, I think it's better without her... but that's because I prefer Martha. I feel she is a much more suitable companion for the Doctor because she is very intelligent and remarkably quick, and brave. You'll love her, don't worry.^^

Just promise me you'll look at her with a fresh mind. Too many people are nasty about her just because she isn't Rose. When you love the Doctor Who series as much as me, so much that you have watched episodes before, you have to accept that the Doctor just gets and loses companions. Heh, my favourite companions were Leela, Sarah-Jane and the original Romana... and now Martha^^

yeah... but can we give rose and gwen hugs please... after their hard work etc im sure they deserve a little one.... :lol:

I promise I'll keep an open mind regardin Rose vs Martha but I have a feeling I know who I'd pick as my favourite.

Romana (the original) is my favourite companion by far...she was not only pretty, but a true match for the Doctor as well...

Question: Do you consider Susan to be a companion? Why? Why not?
