To "skin" your topsite list, you will be using the Look and Feel section of your topsite control panel.

CSS Style Sheet
Most of your modifying will probably be done here. If you already have a working understanding of how CSS style sheets work, then this should be fairly easy for you. If not, W3 Schools CSS Examples is a great place for beginners to learn.

Every part of your topsite has been given a class that can be customized via CSS. The type of things you can customize with CSS are fonts, text size and color, background colors and images, text alignments (left, right, center), and the width of the page.

Custom Templates
For even more customization, you are allowed to create custom templates for your topsite which can contain HTML codes. If you already know HTML, great! You're well on your way to fully customizing your topsite. If not, W3 Schools HTML Tutorials is a good place for beginners to learn the basics.

The templates are named header and footer. They are pretty much self-explainatory; the header is inserted at the top of your topsite and the footer is inserted at the bottom. Using these templates, you can "wrap" your topsite with HTML codes. This allows you to expand upon your topsite and add more to it if you like. You can even make it appear to be embeded within the layout of your website. The easiest way to do this would be to make the header template the same as the top section of your website layout and the footer the same as the bottom section of your website layout, leaving the topsite itself as the page content between them.

Ad Blocks
Topsite Station is a free topsite hosting service that stays in business by embeding (a small amount) of advertising into the topsites it hosts. Though you cannot remove these advertisements (we have to pay the bills somehow!), you are given the ability to customize these advertisements to best suit the look and feel of your topsite.

Firstly, you may choose between showing one large ad block at the top of the topsite or two small ad blocks embeded in the topsite (above and below the navigation); whichever you prefer.

Secondly, you may choose what type of advertisements are shown. By default, it will display image banners when any are available, and text ads when no image ads can be shown. However, you may set your topsite to show only text ads if you prefer. You cannot select image ads only, as there may be none available to show at all times.

Lastly, you can select a color sheme for text ads that best suits your topsite. You can select a theme which compliments your style sheet or colors which stand out more; the choice is yours.

These options allow you to show ads that don't stick out on your topsite like a sore thumb; something many free hosting services do not offer!

Remember
You are not allowed to use any HTML or CSS codes to hide the copyright notice or advertisements shown on your topsite. Any attempt to do so may result in having your topsite deleted or disabled without notice!
