Ive been working now for 12 hours with little breaks (my eyes are seeing lines of code whe i look away from the screen tongue.gif) on bog. ive fixed many bugs, done some balencing, also added some various small little things that make the diference.

For 12 hours, you will probely see the below shots and think, hang on he must be slow, as most of the work i did today you can only see by playing.

So here is my work to show for the day.

Some battle shots, me agaisnt a ai, notice denethor now works propely for sf tongue.gif

So so good to see the Denethor SF bug fixed and finally seeing the proper banner carriers...
I've never actually played a version of the mod with the Amroth naval units so i can't wait to command one for the first time. happy.gif

Great work tom, looks top! smile.gif

they never made it to any version thats why wink.gif

Well currently they are pretty much the same as elven ships. I do hope todo more with navel units later on. Id love to think of navel warfare becoming a bigger part of the game, cus in bfme2 it was the biggest disappointment for me.

Well... there was never much choice... but i wouldn't exactly say it was dissapointing tongue.gif

O my bad... tongue.gif Anyway, would love to see naval warfare make it's mark in BoG. I'm all for that. wink.gif

i was disappointed because.......

couldnt set any sort of formation, so you could not defend your more vulrable ships such as transports quickly enough.
No diferent ships for each faction
No water based maps, that force navel combat
ships cross paths and go into each other
the ai never uses them
more often or not they are not worth paying or giving up cp for

those are a few, cant do a huge amount about any of them though unfortunatly sad.gif

Yeah fair comments, actually now i think about it, there is one thing i always get annoyed about the naval units...

When you are selecting your ground units... and you hold both mouse buttons to command them to all make a formation... well you can't do that with naval units... ea obviously didn't think of it... would it be possible to add?

Edit: lol you just said that tongue.gif would it be possible to allow your ships to fall into formations aswell... when you hold down both mouse buttons?

i did think of doing it before, i think back in the days of bfme2.5, cant remeber how succesful i was, but ill give it a try smile.gif

Well there may of been a reason ea did not do it, maybe too buggy, or maybe it will of involved them editing the path finding, which would involve them doing more work. 77_77.gif

Well it would be great if you could tom, being able to put your ships in formation would deffinitely make me alot happier and probably everyone else too. wink.gif

The ships have always gone through one another like ghosts... it's always annoying me too, why does it happen?

its just the path finding, or part of the game engine. Its ike with normal land units, they pass through each other its just not as noticable.

the only problem with a water based map, is that im ot sure if the ai could be made to work very well withit.

Probably not, it will only be multilayer maps...

Anyway, I can update my 2islands map (again) if you want to, that way we have at least one waterbased map tongue.gif

Thanks king tom, smile.gif i have probably done better in the past... but all together it took me about an hour to do, build it up and then take shots. wink.gif

I am also starting to shoot on a minas tirith that i have built up, which took me about 3 days to complete.

And the map is a custom map D_ber... it's a map called 'Helms Deep - Morning Light'... i got it ages ago back when i use to play rotwk online. But it's pretty much identical to the official version of the map, except on the morning light... it's a 6 player map and not 4. wink.gif
