Anouther update for today, ive been trying to sort out some maps. One of the maps i most wanted to be in, bog also was going to be the hardest one to make. Well ive sorted out a Dol Amroth map, it shall be the fortress map for SF to defend.

It at the moment is 1 v 2 map. Although i may make anuther defender slot.

Firstly here is the only way by land into the city, it is a narrow corridor defended by a gate. Which makes attacking by land hard as it will more then likly turn into a dead lock.

The city its self is built around the outside of the fortress. Once the gate by land is breached, the fighting will be forced onto the streets of the city.

Once the city has fallen, the attackers will have the advantage of plenty of open land and and base building space, allowing them to gain a much better economy. One of the attackers can also send transports accross from the north of the map, the defenders can not get ships to this point, so they must rely on their land units to keep them at bay.

The best way by far to getting into the fortress, is by sea. This will of course mean having to take on dol amroths navy, but once landed they will have to get through less gates and defences. By sea there is to places to land in dol amroth (excluding the one said above).

Here is dol amroths lighthouse, guilding ships into the bay.

Here are the 3 main entraces into the fortress by land. You have to get through the city to get through anyone on these gates.

From the inside of the city, the defenders can get their archers to better snipering points through the mountains, through diferent passages.

This small little walled area, is a place of safety, to heal. It is located behind the inner wall of the fortress.

Once the fortress is breached eventurly the defenders will be forced to retreat to the citadel. This is a raised aread with rapards for archers to rain arrows down on foes. It is where the imrahils hall is, and is wheere he takes his last stand.

The basis of the map was orginaly created by lotrloramrod, which i edited a fair amount and added a fair amount too. But credit must go to him for the begginigs of the map.

This update is just getting started, i also present a map made by whoozy awhile ago, which hes now finnished for bog. Its a purely naval map, desigened for online play. There is 2 versions, a normal conquest version and a point system one, where for every min (?) you hold one of the smaller ilands, you gain a point. First one to 1000 wins!

here are some shots he took.

Dont go anywhere yet, i also have some shots from kingtom, who got inspiration from anglia to make his own city/fort. Here are the shots + what he had to say about them.

The entrance to the mighty town of Belfalas.

Well admired for its authenticity and original architecture

But a small town for its big population and small army.

user posted image
So a training ground was built to create new soldiers for the vulnerable town.

user posted image
Many enter as local clansmen, but then they exit as fully trained soldiers.

user posted image
The training is carried out by Belfalas' professionals.

user posted image
The ranks are very simple, but soldiers may choose who they want to be.

user posted image
The training ground is well protected on the shores of the sea...

...To the fields of Belfalas

Finally, the port of Belfalas.

user posted image
Very small, but still a very beautiful area of Gondor.

user posted image
Trading ships come and go around the port of Belfalas.

user posted image
And the tradesmen know they are in Belfalas when they see the artistic monument on a small island.

Very nice maps! Great work kingtom!

As for the island map: Every 5 seconds you get 2 points when you control an island (you have but your enemy doesn't have units on it means you're controlling it) This will probably be changed a little as the map hasn't been tested in real competitive play yet.

Oh, one note about the dol amroth map: We should get someone to make a better palantir image. Thats also the last thing that needs to be done for my map. I can go and try it but rohad already did it a few times so he can probably help wink.gif

I'll do it, I have it fixed in probably like 5 minutes or so, a bit of tweaking might make it into 15 mins or so, but it'll work

Try to keep your questions to the question topic, and don't go off-topic in other topics. But anyway, I'll answer you:

We don't release updates for the mod, when a new version is released you'll have to download the whole mod again. Releasing updates might be good for the download size, but it will be very hard, and we might end up with everyone having different versions and that we're not able to play against each other anymore, no we wouldn't want that would we? tongue.gif
