While you are on the sixth floor, you can now hear footsteps going down the moving staircases with black flat shoes. Wearing blue, tight, jeans and light blue tank top, Melody had her brown hair up in a bun. Today it wasn't that messy, but she made the ends look spiky for today. For fun as you can call it. Her patiences was wearing down and she was in need to look for her best friend Willow. Her pet Comet was nibbling on a piece of banana, on her left shoulder with tail curled around her neck lightly, while she slowly walked...not wanting her pet to fall too.

"Willow! If you can hear me, I'm on the stairs!" Mel shouted loudly, but not to hurt her "baby's" sensitive ears, seeming desperate to find her buddy like a long lost pet. It's our last year here and we need to have fun! I didn't get to see her this summer because parents wanted me to stay home, she thought, annoyed. Her parents were afraid they wouldn't see her again since Melody wants to live and work in the wizardry world. They are so over protective and think the dumbest things. But at least Melody was able to send a few letters to Will so they didn't lose touch with one another.

Putting her hands into her pockets, she continued down the stairs...hitting each floor until she found Will. They have lots of catching up to do and also wanted to know if David planned to play anymore tricks on girls. They both hoped he, Will's brother, learned his lesson from the week of torment the two girls did to him a couple of summers ago. A small and light laugh escaped her lips from the memory. It was a bad, but also good, memory to have in your mind. But now that she moved on from liking David, she only held onto that flashback tenderly.

Willow was sitting on a bench in the hallways playing her guitar to herself quietly. Her finger nimbly struck the cords to Mr. Jones as she softly whispered the words. Griswald was curling around her giving a soft purr to the beat of the song. He is defiantly an odd kitten. He never grew once she got him, she always thought it must be the breed or he was a magical cat. He had a lot in common with her grandpa thus why she named him after him. His fur is a grey color just like her grandfather’s hair but then a few subtle spot of black which reminded her of salt and pepper.

She stopped abruptly and stood up even quicker making Griswald hiss at her because she almost stepped on his tail. She had heard her name and it sounded like Melody. She would always remember her voice since they have known each other for so long. She quickly grabbed Grissy and rushed off to where she heard the voice. She ran through the hallways coming closer from the sound of it. That’s when Melody let out the loudest yell for her and out of shock Willow lost her footing. She fumbled and landed on the ground her hands outstretched with her guitar in one hand and Grissy in the other. She had to make sure neither of them got hurt.

She slowly put her arms down as she groaned “Owwww, My head it rings!”

She got up and attempted to look over the banister however not being very tall she had to jump and grab ahold so she could see. Griswald stood beside her as she jumped. Directly underneath of her was Melody.

She smiled and screamed down “Oiiiiii! Mel!! Up here!”

She started waving her free hand but then lost her footing and feel backwards letting go of her guitar. She quickly got up and looked over the banister praying it would miss Melody.

After calling her "sister's" name over and over again, she heard yelling coming from one of the floors above where she was at. Freezing in place, she listened and then turned her head to look up the empty, large area that lets you see the staircases moving and the gray stone ceiling all the way to the top.

Finally, she saw Will looking over the stone railing of the floor above her. A large smile came onto her lips before she then saw a guitar falling down at her. With her blue eyes coming as large as golf balls, she grabbed a hold of Comet and pushed her and him against the stone wall...to get out of the way for it. Her small, black, side backpack got hit by the neck of the guitar and cut it open a few inches.

"Oye Will. You trying to kill me?" Melody said when she returned to her spot, to shout up at her friend before hearing a large crash below. Taking her wand out, she muttered a spell that fixed the cut in the bag. Sighing, Mel petted Comet's back while walking back up one flight of stairs to get Willow. "Don't worry about it girl. That can be fixed," she added while finally standing next to the laying down Willow.

Willow was still looking over the railing in shock. That was a guitar her grandpa left her and there is laid in pieces on the ground four stairs underneath them. She gently pushed herself away from the banister in shock. She slowly turned her body to Melody with her mouth a gaped. She slowly walked towards Melody. Everything that just happened running through her. She ran. She jumped. And then it feel. Why oh why did it have to fall. Couldn't it had been my wand?"

“Mel m-m-my guit-a-ar it’s smashed, Mel! My grandad’s guitar!” She sobbed as tears flooded out of her eyes and she hugged Melody. Their height difference made Willow’s head land right underneath her chest. She couldn’t think of anything right now. That was her grandpa’s guitar. If she was thinking straight she would realize that she could repair it with magic but the shock of it had stunned her brain. Why did she have to be cursed with such a short body. If I was taller I wouldn’t have to jump and I wouldn’t have let go! She looked up at Melody fresh tear about to fall out of her eye. She wished she didn’t cry just then and started to rub the tears from her face.

She hiccupped “I’m sorry Mel. I just a part of him that I didn’t want to lose…”

At first, Mel was a little bit shocked that Will just hugged her like that. But only for a second. They were friends and she knew that it was her grandfather's guitar. She hugged her friend tightly and replied with, "Shhh Will. It will be alright. Have your forgotten that we can fix it in a jiffy?" She laughed lightly as Comet sniffed the air for Will's tears. Then he slipped down between the girls', on their chests, and then licked the tears away.

"Comet!" Mel said as he then ran up onto the top of her head at the sound of her voice. Then Melody looked back to Willow. "Let's go down there and fix it," she advice to her friend as she then turned Will to face the moving staircase, to get onto it, and then helped her to go down them. "A quick spell will fix it for you. It was an accident. You can't help that girl."

Willow felt Melody embraces her with as hug as she sniveled and hiccupped. When she heard her refer to the Repairing charm she suddenly perked up since it all came clear to her. She hugged Mel even more as she squeaked “Mel you are the smartest witch it Hogwarts!”

She laughed as Comet’s tongue tickled her as he/she licked the tears away. She petted Comet gently sighing “Merci Comet.”

As Melody was about to slowly take Willow down the stair to her injured guitar Willow took Mel’s hand and half dragged her down the stairs. It felt as though her feet could not go fast enough to reach the guitar. She just prayed that the stairs wouldn’t move and that they would reach it in time. Just as she was about to him the platform the stair were about to move. Scared that someone else might find the remains of one of her most precious gifts she did what felt natural. She jumped over the gap her hand in Mel’s and Griswald in her pocket holding on for dear life. Thankfully they made with room to spare. Willow grabbed Grissy out of her pocked and cradled him in her arms as she sang “We made it! We made it!”

Everything that happened, just flashed by Mel like a lightening bolt. They were only a floor above the main ground floor where the broken guitar laid. She looked at Will, still had her eyes widen from the fact that they could of fell down and they would probably end up with a few bones broken. "Will! You seriously feel like killing me today, don't you?" She said that before then suddenly laughing and smiling while Willow hugged her cat.

"Okay girl. Let's go get your guitar. We need to fix it and then we can go talk. I missed you all summer," she said to her sister-like best friend and giving her another hug. Melody seriously was kind of bored during the summer. Half of it, she was outside with her parents and her older brother Mickeal visited them as well for a few weeks. But the other half, she was either cleaning the house or just on the computer. There as no computers here in the wizard world, but since she had muggle parents, there was so many technology now.

Willow held onto Griswald as she scratched the back of her head. She didn’t mean to scare or hurt Mel but when she got urges she just went with it without thinking. She laughed nervously as she said “Hehe sorry Mel but I didn’t want it to go anywhere. Who know what would happen to it if someone got a hold of it?!” The though absolutely terrified her. Only a few people were allowed to touch it or hold it because of the sentimental value it held.

She pulled out her 12" , Holly wood , Dragon Heartstring Core Wand and the warmth flooded through her hands and she said Reparo and the Guitar in front of her repaired itself. Its original gleam seemed to shine even more as the strings seemed to shine in the light. She stood up and linked arms with Melody as she jokingly said “Well Waters. Where do you want to go and chat? And about what darling? You better not be telling me you’re leaving me.” She got a stern look as she let go of Melody’s arm as she said with great conviction “Because if you did well then I would have to kill you”

Melody watched as Willow fixed her grandfather's old guitar and she smiled when it repaired itself back together. "Maybe he should of put a charm on it so it can't break like that for you," she said, joking around about how much Will can be a clutz. But she is my clutz, she thought with the smile still dancing around merrily on her lips. Then she stopped in her tracks when her friend was talking about leaving her.

"Me? Leave you? Damn girl! What did you, or I, do this summer that made you think that silly non-sense?" Mel then lightly tapped Willow's head with her right hand and then grabbed her left hand and started to pull her. "I don't care where we go. Let's just randomly walk around the school and see wherever we end up!" Melody was wanting to be random and have excitement now. Comet now hid in her bag because of them moving faster than he liked it.

For a moment Willow let sadness grab her but shrugged it away before Mel noticed. Instead she laughed as she scratched her head. Through the chuckles she said “I know what you mean. What is this? The fourth time I broke it?” She put her guitar back into her back which had a charm on it so it would be bigger than it looks inside. She then felt a finger tap her and her hand begin to be pulled the way she had pulled Mel.

She laughed as Mel pulled her. This year she was really come out of her shell. When they were younger she remembered Mel would barely talk to anyone since she was shy. Now though it was like Willow couldn’t shut her up! She followed her with her head tilted to the side. Grissy jumped into Mel’s bag so he could play with comet. She smiled as she said “So Mel how was de summer? Any cute boyz?” She giggled at what she said and kept walking.

Melody felt something jump into her bag and she looked back to see Wil's cat go into it to be with Comet. A smile glittered on her lips with lip gloss and she shrugged her shoulders as she let go of her hand...to walk normal. "Nothing really. Half the time parents wanted to go out and the other half was shut in the house. I wish I could of been at yours for the summer," she told her best friend forever as she slowed down her walking so that Will could walk with her.

"And no. No cute guys at all," she added with a sigh. She was boyfriend-less and date-less as well. But Mel also thought that school was to come first. You can't always find your love partner at school. "How about yours? Anything interesting happened to you?" she asked back as she then looked around the building with her eyes and then back at her friend. She did miss school indeed. All her friends and last year of it now! She hoped to be working as a professor at Hogwarts or a wizardry school when she graduted.

As her black flip flop’s hit the ground as the descended down the stairs. She placed her finger to her chin and thought for a moment about what happened this summer. “Well” she began, “David had some of ‘is friends over and one of them was pretty damn cute! When David left the house we had a little fling thing but nothing much other than that. I wish I remembered what his name was… Oh well he had gorgeous eyes!”

She laughed at the thought of it. She didn’t really remember his name very well but she defiantly remembers what he looked like! She looked at Melody and shrugged it really wasn’t that much fun at my house besides that. Parents were around to much to ‘ave to much fun.” Her parents were being all emotional feeling like this was the last summer with “the children”. With all that was going on they didn’t know what would happen and were worried that someone might attack them without notice. It kinda annoyed her that they didn’t think she could handle herself but she understood where they we coming from.

Mel growled faintly when Will had mentioned her brother's name to her. God I can't stand that boy's ass! she thought angry as she remembered what happened a couple of years or more ago. Knowing that fact that he is back at Hogwarts wanted her to go to him and strangle him herself. He is so full of himself and just like to mess with some girls, she also thought as she then shook her head. Just change the subject. All you need to do Melody.

"Wish we could of spent it together so we didn't have to be alone and bored," Melody said as she then looked around, noticing that they were now at the ground floor of the staircase area and heading to the Grand Entrance of the school to go outside. She didn't feel like going outside right now and feeling her stomach growl told her not to either. "Do you mind if we stop at the kitchen? I want to sneak in and get a snack," she asked Willow politely.

Willow one again let out a slightly chuckle but muffled it by clearing her throat. She was sure that any moment Melody would move her glare to her because she was laughing at her. Well it was kinda funny in here mind because it made her think back to the moment when they made his life a living hell. He really wasn’t as cruel nowadays but when he was young he was immature and didn’t understand his feelings. He probably felt something for Mel but being an immature 11 year old he just pushed it back and tortured her. Maybe one day she would forgive him but for now Willow could laugh about it.

She nodded her head to being with her would have been better but then laughed a little as she said through the laughs “I don’t know that guy was pretty fun!” The guy was truly a looker but still she didn’t remember his name. Willow had a photographic memory but sadly it doesn’t work well with anything unless she sees it or reads it. Maybe she would see him again. She heard Melody’s stomach growl and laugh realizing what she was about to say. Almost immediately after she asked her to go to the kitchen she said yes. They both began to walk toward the kitchen look for the portrait of a pear to tickle.

Melody made her right arm like a hook to her side so that Willow could put her left arm threw it like girls did in high school for muggles. Mel had taught Will about muggle traditions and expressions for friends and families that they did. That was one of them. Yes...Mel did miss her muggle friends, but she got to see them for vacations and summer break so she still had them and her wizard friends as well.

"I am craving for fruits right now. How about you, darlin'?" she asked like a rich muggle woman. She then laughed with a large and happy smile on her lips. She was indeed shy when it came to meeting new people, but when she was with her friends, she could be out-going and adventurous as anyone else could be. Her friends and family members were on top of her list of important things in her life...and always would be.
