Tzurkir: Missing, presumed angry

Yeah. You know how I was going to reinstall Windows?

My computer decided to be awkward about it.

Long story short, I now have a USB harddrive with the little data I was able to salvage in the horrifying catastrophe, and a hunk of twisted, molten metal steaming under my desk, and growling at me at night.

Less fancily put: My computer's dead. Possibly undead, I daren't look.

So, I'll not be able to do much at all until sometime next week when I get a new motherboard (£80. Sob.) and reinstall EVERYTHING (fortunately for my sanity I managed to salvage all the WoW files so I'll only have to actually install 3.1). Since it'll take about a day to just do Windows and get the internet up and running, and probably another to get the service packs and updates installed...

... Yeah, you *MIGHT* see me by the end of next week. Possibly.

(I'm using my Dad's laptop right now, you see.)

I don't know how to put this to you, Tzurkir, but...

lol how can your computer be awkward about a windows reinstall?

Be sure that your current hardware fits the new motherboard you're planning to buy. Because new and old hardware often doesn't fit well together.

Aye Rhaine, my father's a software engineer and could probably build a computer blind-folded, he passed a fair bit of that to me. =P

As for why my computer sucks?

"The shoemaker's family often goes unshod."

And it was awkward because... Well, we're not sure. We've narrowed the problem down to either a dodgy power supply or a dodgy motherboard, but it's more likely the motherboard since a bad power supply would mean the thing wouldn't switch on at all.
