I'm not up on which circuit D-11 is for..
If it's to open up the modulation then replacing it won't lower your dead key at all. Have a look at cb tricks, it'll tell you which is the power adj. Which 29 is it? LTD, Plus, GTL, ST... |

Most "so called" techs will either lift or cut D11. When cut or lifted, it's pretty much a wide open deadkey, which is retarded if you ask me, but hey, who am I.
When D11 is cut/lifted, VR4 becomes useless. |

the D11 is in the modulation ciruit. its the limiter. if you cut that it bypasses the VR4, the vr for modulation. i think thats half right?? and plus i want to bring the thing mostlyback to stock, for sumthin to do i guess lol, eli 29 LTD: 1. OVERMOD: Check D11 2. PLL dead, no TX or RX: Shorted C112 3. No TX/RX with Channel LED lit on RX and then goes out when keyed: Bad /shorted C119. is that what you wanted me to look at? |

haha I've lifted them on radios that the diode is the only modulation tweak.
If the diode is the same on a 25 classic Philippine i'll check to see if my parts radio has that diode in it. Snail mail it? |

Squirrel, IMHO, you really need to invest in a good mobile radio, instead of all these old dead Cobra's & other radios your getting. After getting a good, new radio, you will see that you saved yourself some money by doing so, instead of repairing your old ones.
My recomendations: Galaxy! : : |

It's a cute radio..
It should do alright, Atleast it has a ANL switch to knock out the noise. Worth the $12. I'd give $12. because it has clean looks to it. Now open the modulation a little on it so it'll get out more than 3 blocks. PS. No clipping lol |
