Feel free to comment if the mood strikes. smile.gifI hope you enjoy reading this as much as I do running it. smile.gif

Also, those playing in the game are welcome to supplement with thier own updates, as my memory and notes are spotty sometimes.

Players:
Greg Torbeck as Quintin ‘Quin’ Formosa: A browncoat transport captain with a slight alcohol problem. Before the story begins, he’s been mutinied upon and left stranded with nothing but his gun and his clothes in an Alliance friendly town called Zion on Boros

Ryon Numrich as Edward ‘Eddie’ Clover: A registered Companion with a penchant for cigars and earth that was literature; specifically graphic novels. He has a contract with the luxury liner Lotus Blossom, which has just set down in the city of Boise on Boros for repairs when the story begins

Tim Faulkner as Jason ‘Jayse’ Garrett: A brash, chronic gambler that has a tendency to lose when there is a lot on the line. He has a tendency to ramble. Running from his wife and a deadly gangster who is out for revenge, Jayse finds himself broke and living on the streets of Zion

Andrea Sherry as Kea ‘Tack’ Torbic: A pickpocket drifter. She’s been ‘working’ the Lotus Blossom. (Without fare)

Here’s how it is:
Quin and Jayse have formed a bit of a friendship over the few weeks that Jayse has been in town. They’re both trying to raise money enough to get off the planet. Quin is working in a local mechanic shop for whatever meager salary the owner can pay him. Jayse has been trying to win money at cards. Neither have been very successful, as wages are low, Quin needs whiskey and Jayse, well Jayse is a gambler and a cheat.

Meanwhile, Eddie gets word that there is a extremely rare comic in the town of Zion. When the Blossom sets down, he heads out to negotiate the purchase of said relic. Tack catches wind of a relic in town and hears that Eddie will be going to buy it. She tails him in order to try and ‘relieve’ him of it.

ACT I:

Session 1:

Quin is just getting done with his work for the day and heads to the 'Shakespere Pub', a local watering hole and the home of the towns theater group. He orders a Whiskey in the nearly empty tavern and sits in quiet contemplation.

At the same time, Jase is playing cards next door at the 'Kissing Wench', a tavern as rowdy and crowded as the other is quiet and empty. He gets caught with an ace up his sleeve and the other guy hits him, knocking out a tooth. This starts a small brawl and Jase ends up knocking the other player out. (Or shooting him. It's been a while and I don't remember the detail here.) He's a bit intoxicated and as such, he gives the bartender his tooth as payment for the mess. Quin hears the commotion and heads outside to investigate.

Meanwhile, Eddie gets off the train in Zion, unaware that he is being tailed by Tack. As he is walking by the Kissing wench, Jase, who is bleeding pretty bad from the mouth, stumbles out of the bar and runs into him, staining the companion's shirt with a good amount of blood. Jase apologies and tries to wipe the blood out of his shirt. Quin comes and tries to get Jase to leave Eddie alone. Eddie asks directions to a clothing shop and to the "Shady Tree Hotel" run by Ying Yanlin, which is the person he's come to see about the relic. They part ways and Eddie goes to buy a new shirt.

In dogtown, Jase learns that a luxury liner called the Lotus Blossom has put down in Boise for repairs. He suggests to Quin that they go and look for work on board to get off the planet. Quin agrees that it's worth a shot. They head to the hotel to try and catch up with him.

Eddie gets to the Hotel in a fresh shirt and tells the receptionist who he is and who he's here to see. She gets choked up by his allure and runs off to tell Yanlin. Eddie goes to wait at the hotel bar. Tack comes in soon behind and sits at the end of the bar. Eddie heads over to flirt with her.

Jase and Quin show up a bit later. Jase heads into the bathroom to get cleaned up, while Quin heads over and sits next to Eddie at the bar. They small talk a bit, and Quin apologizes again for his friend, but Eddie is more interested in the girl for them to have a conversation of substance. Eddie is told that Yanlin won't be able to see him today, and is offered a room on the house. Tack heads over to the waiting area, sits on a couch, and pretends to read a magazine. Jase and Quin leave, feeling a little disappointed. Jase suggests that they try to stowaway, but Quin refuses. After a bit of arguing, the name of the boad comes out. That changes everything for Quin. The captian is an old friend of Quins and he figures he could probably get work on his own merits. They decide to head to Boise in the morning.

In the morning. Eddie enters Yanlin's office. Yanlin admits that he has lured Eddie under false pretenses. The truth is that one of Eddie's clients, a woman named Ashley Jacobs, has stolen a unique piece of technology from the triad and want Eddie to get it back. He'll pay 5000 credits for it's safe return. If he refuses, however, his sister Jessica, who has been capture by the Tong, will die. Given no choice, Eddie agrees to find Ashley and get the piece for the Triad.

TO MANETTA: Why's that?

Session 2:

Quin wakes up with the sun and goes to get Jase out of bed. Jase is startled awake and pops off three round through the canvas of his lean-to before he realizes that he's not in any danger. Lucily, Quin doesn't get hit. They both head over to the Shakespere for breakfast.

Tack gets wakened by Yanlin, who is not happy that she squatted in the lobby of his hotel all night. As payment, he demands that she help Eddie on his quest and make sure he stays on track. She agrees, knowing that Triads have a way of keeping track of people.

After Eddie's meeting, he heads out into town to see if he can find a pilot here that can take him to the last place Ashley was spotted, Beaumonde. Tack meets him in the lobby and tells him that he's been assigned to help. Again, not having any choice, he allows her along, not to upset because she's good looking in her own way. Looking for someone to get him on his way, he tries the other two taverns (the Kissing wench being still loud and rowdy) with no luck before heading into the Shakespere pub. There he finds Quin and Jase once again and asks them. They're both pilots and Quin tells Eddie that he's in the market for a ship. They strike a deal. Eddie will help with the purchase of a ship, and Quin and Jase can keep it after they get ahold of the item.

They all get on the Mag-train together before noon local, and head to Boise.

On the train, Jase gets approched by Ricardo, who represents a local Godfather named Rami Guiller, who has heard about Jase and Quins wish to get off world and are willing to help them obtain a ship in exchange for favors. He tells them they've got a lead on an amphibious ship called the Sunset Steed that is currently being used as a fishing boat on Newhall. It's seaworthy but not currently spaceworthy. Jase thinks it's a great idea and brings it up to Quin, who refuses to be under anyones heel. Eddie thinks that a ship is a ship and agrees with Jase.

When they get off in Boise, Quin decideds to leave them, as he doesn't like the plan of getting a ship from a gangster. He goes to talk to his friend on the Blossom to see if he can work for her. The rest all decide to split up to do the things they have to do before they have to meet Ricardo about the Steed. Eddie heads to the Lotus Blossom to terminate his contract, Tack goes a'pickpocketing, and Jase heads to the bathroom where he is promptly clubbed in the knee by a bounty hunter named Shank. He is knocked out at taken to an abandoned warehouse in the industrial side of town.

I'd love to have you play, Manetta. Maybe you can join us for my next campaign.

I'm just kidding Brandon - that break was completely out of your hands and had everything to do with a hiccup in the group. I'm REALLY looking forward to playing again (and finishing my stupid-ass crawl!)

Session 3:

CONTAINS SOME GRAPHIC VIOLENCE.

Quin sees his friend Taylor Dugan, who offers him a job in the engine room of the Blossom. He thanks her, and heads to a local bar for a sip.

Eddie shows up in Tayor's office soon after, annouces his intentions and they part ways. Taylor tells him that he's always welcome on her ship. He collects his stuff from his room on board, gets a hotel room for the night, puts his stuff there, and heads to the rendezvous, which happens to be the same bar that Quin is in. He gets to flirting with a pair of fraternal twins.

Quin decides to use the bar cortex terminal and gets a message from Taylor. She tells him to head to the ship right away. There is something he has to see. He gets there and Taylor just points out the window. Sitting on the adjacent pad is a sight that Quin had been pinning for. His ship, Mercury, the deck stolen right out from under him, has come back. Quin quickly runs back to the bar.

Tack gets a good haul and heads to the rendezvous a good deal late. When she gets there, she asks about where Jase is. Eddie hadn't even been paying attention to the time and decides they should probably figure out where he's gotten to. He's late for his meeting with Ricardo. Just then, Quin returns with the news. He has a ship, but it must be recaptured. If Eddie helps him get her back, he'll consider that his part of the deal. Eddie agrees, but they're going to need Jase to pull it off. The set out to find him.

Meanwhile, Jase wakes. His knees are killing him, his eye is pretty swollen, it's totally dark, and his head is killing him. He realizes that he's hanging upside-down by the ankles, and his wrists are tied so his arms are straight out and he's naked. Suddenly a light blinds him and his arms start to slowly get stretched toward the walls. A figure comes into view from the light. Jase judges that his head is about 4 feet off the ground, given that his eyes are chest high for the man that has just entered. Wordless, the man walks over to the wall, and stops the winches. He then heads over to Jase and gives him a huge shock on his back.

The group heads to the last place they'd seen Jase; the mag-rail platform. They get no help from the workers there, but look around anyway. One of them checks the bathroom, where there is sign of a struggle, some blood and a window open to the alley. They check the alley and they find a magnetic grapple on the ground (which they leave) and drag marks that lead down the alley.

Fatigued from shock and the stretching of his limbs, Jase is very relieved when the torture subsides for a moment. A female figure appears in the doorway. He groans as he recognizes Michelle Qi, a crime lord that believes Jase indirectly killed her husband. He's been running from her for months. They have a brief conversation that doesn't end well. He screams as flesh is cut off his back. His open mouth is then filled with his own cooked skin and then taped shut. His shoulders feel as if they're about to dislocated as the winches turn. She tells him to remember what he's done as he dies, and she leaves the room. The interrigator turns the winches on low and follows her out. The light goes out.

Some time later, the door opens again. There is a bald man standing there, fair complexion with a blonde goatee. He asks Jase where he can find Qi. Jase says that he doesn't know. The man turns to leave, but Jase convinces the man to cut him down, as he can be of some use in locating her. The man complies, none to gently and they find some clothes for him to wear, and his gunbelt. The man introduces himself as Snakebite and they head for the door.

The group got some information from vagrants in the alley. Some of it useful and some of it disgusting and crazy. They end up finding the door where the drag marks lead. As they're about to pick it open, the door flies open, revealing Snakebite and Jase, looking terrible.

They get Jase to a medic. Eddie, knowing Snakebite's rep, hires him for one kill in the upcoming fight, hoping that it's not needed. They plan to take Mercury.
