I'm intrigued to see how this plays out. With Bioware and Pandemic getting snapped up by EA, I suppose something like this was inevitable.
Now the question remains - will EA gut Bioware like they did Maxis, and will Activision gut Blizzard, destroying all hopes of a successful starcraft sequel?

Actually I think Vivendi, which owns Blizzard, bought Activision. It sounds more like a merger unlike the EA/BioWare situation. But I could be wrong about that. I believe their intention was to merger up to maintain a very large stake in the video games industry.

You know, you're right - my bad. THat's why I thought it was strange they'd call it Activision Blizzard - Blizzard (vivendi) did the buying.

I hope we don't actually start seeing games branded Activision Blizzard or however they decide to go with it, I'd rather they stay separate name entities. I also think we'll see more and more of this sort of deal happening in the future as games get more expensive to create and market. We're already seeing third party exclusive games going away as the game companies need to reach a wider audience to make their investment back.

You know what this means of course....
MECHS ON ZERGLINGS!!!!!!
Its about time really we got some hot Wildcat on Protoss Carrier action in our lives.
AND an all consuming online Mechwarrior MMORPG!
Oh think of the possibilities of that!
The need for sunlight could become entirely superfluous. B)

World of Battletech is something I would definitely pay for!
