So the Yankees have a two game series against the Seattle Mariners. The Yankees are currently ahead of the Mariners by 2 games in the AL wildcard. Say the Yamkees win both game then they will be 4 games up. But if they spilt the two games then they will be up by 3 game in the wildcard race. After this two game series with seattle they have a series with Kansas City Rolyals, thats another series they gotta take control of. And hopefully while the Yankees are winning game the Red Sox lose a couple. Bottom Line is that the Yankees have to take advantage of these weak team they are playing
