What does the word faerie mean to you? When you think of a faerie, what do you think of? Do you think of a miniature maiden with pretty butterfly wings? Maybe a lady dressed all in frills with a magic wand and a kind smile? Or maybe you think of a sneaky pixie playing tricks on foolish mortals? Do faeries grant the wishes of humans, or are they more concerned with their own society? Do faeries have a society? How is it structured? If you met a faerie, what would you do? Would you beg him or her to tell you of their wondrous world, stare in awe and amazement, or run screaming from the strange creature before you? These questions aren’t really important, since you’ll probably never meet a faerie. They might be nice to consider though, you know, just in case…

Anyways, enough about you, back to faeries and their realm. To answer one of the above questions, the fae beings do indeed have a society. No large cities or towns; the fae world is a twisting labyrinth of forest so thick the sky is not visible. They do have a society though. One ruled by a proud, but benevolent king and a stubborn, but gracious, queen…or they did, anyways. The king and queen always squabbled and were prone to short break-ups in which the fae community would be temporarily divided (both rulers were much loved, but most of their subjects did prefer one to the other). However, their last little spat hasn’t managed to end yet. The king directs his loyal guard and other supporters from the palace they once shared while the queen scarcely manages to maintain contact with her followers, since she chose to hide in the mortal realm. It probably wouldn’t matter if she did have better contact with them though, just like it wouldn’t matter if the king suddenly changed his mind about the direction he’s leading his people. For the majority of the faerie realm, the issue has become bigger than the two of them. It has become war.

What is this issue that has managed to split the magical plane? Humans, oddly enough. The mortals have abused their world to the point where it could soon be beyond repair. The faeries have a separate existence, but the two are connected, something especially true in the corners of Earth the humans have left wild. The problems manufactured in the mortal realm could well spill over into the fantasy world, despite the beings there never having contributed. It was the king’s wish to close all gates between the dimensions until the humans either fixed their planet or died off – he wouldn’t have his people suffering for the mistakes of the mortals. The queen, however, was fond of the mortal realm and it’s inhabitants. She saw the humans as misguided and in need of the faeries assistance to solve the problems they faced as a species. Most faeries were also of one of these philosophies, or had views leaning towards one. And so the fae war began and has yet to end.

Oh, and the king never did fully close those gates. Despite their differences he’d never lock his wife out of their kingdom (Faeries live for what humans would consider a VERY long time, but they don’t live forever and if they spend too much time in the mortal realm their aging slowly starts to speed up. She might die before the gates were opened again.). He’s left them open a crack, a crack that can only be made use of when the full moon hangs in the sky.

(( Important info I couldn’t fit into the intro:

What IS a faerie? – For the most part I’m going to leave that up to the individual rper. You can give your characters traditional faerie wings if you want to, or make them look angelic/demonic. Give them cat ears if you like, a fox tail maybe…hell, want a centaur? Make them a centaur! Purple skin anyone? Snake hair? Be creative, not just with appearance, but with magical ability and such. That doesn’t mean go ahead and make a character knowledgeable/talented/powerful in every or most areas imaginable, but…Oh, you’re a smart bunch. I don’t have to explain Mary Sues here, do I?

There are a couple ablilites that I’m just going to say most every faerie character has (not that you can’t create a character that doesn’t, but know that that would be looked on as an oddity by the fae realm). They are as follows – the ability to shrink themselves down to slightly smaller than a Barbie doll and one alternate form (ie. An animal, plant, fire, water, just invisible, a big beast thing, whatever else you can think of).

Human’s take heed! – Human characters winding up in the faerie realm might not be able to leave and might not stay human. Of course, it’s up to their rper, but this is what could happen. One – if a human is in the faerie realm when the sun rises (which WILL happen not right away but not too too far into the rp) then they can’t leave for a month. This also applies to faeries in the mortal realm at that time. Two – No magic powers for humans. Sorry if you wanted to do that, but if humans could be magical to the difference between them and the faeries wouldn’t be nearly as noticeable. This puts them at quite the disadvantage if they find themselves in a fight with a fae since they will probably be very vulnerable to spells and such…Three – If a human eats anything from the fae realm then they don’t get to leave EVER, even if it’s still the same night they entered. Four – A human living in the fae realm will, if their heart desires it, gradually become a faerie themselves (known as a Changeling since they were once human) and, once the change is complete, will be able to leave again if they like…however, they will also gradually loose their memories of their human lives, so they may not care anymore. They’ll still always have the knowledge that they were once human, but it’ll be like how everyone knows they used to be a baby.

WAR! What is it good for? – The ‘Queen’s Side’ doesn’t have any official group, though some groups probably claim they’re it. Really there are just different factions and independents, some that work well with others and some that don’t. There are also different factions and independent faeries that support the king’s general view but are not a part of his official guard either because they were turned down or because they disagree with some of his policies. One policy the Royal Guard follows (that’s been adopted by some other groups on both sides, but is also resented by some groups on both sides) is the capture policy. His majesty sees the senseless killing of one’s own kind as something human that no self respecting faerie should engage in if it can be helped. His knights all follow a strict code that involves giving the enemy multiple opportunities to surrender and capturing rather than killing them whenever possible. Also in regards to the war; it isn’t one with huge battle fields. A large battle might involve 10 faeries. For the most part it consists of one on one – three on three fights.
Rules – The usual no-brainer stuff. Don’t control other peoples characters, at least three GOOD sentences per post (Bob didn’t know what to say. He sighed. Then he ate a cookie. = Not good enough), consult the other rpers before randomly deciding it’s morning;...you probably know all this already. There are three rules unique to this rp though:

1. Post AT LEAST once a week. If you go a week without posting and don’t post a message explaining why (ie. You’re going on vacation for two weeks) then the rp will continue as if your characters never existed, which will probably throw everyone else off pretty badly. I think this rule is necessary though to stop the rp from going dead. Quite honestly – I need it to keep ME from being lazy.
2. You must have at least two characters, preferably three.
3. At least one of them must be a faerie on one side of the war. Your other character(s) can fit in however you want. They can be human or a faerie on the same/opposite/no side. One character has to be on a side though or else it’s pretty pointless for there to be a war going on in this rp.

Please include this information in your character descriptions;

Name:
Race: (including what kind of faerie if they’re a faerie)
Age (relative to humans or just their age if they are human):
Gender:
Basic appearance: (Eye colour, hair, clothing, wings, ect.)
Personality/background in brief: (nothing too detailed, just enough to get an idea of what kind of person they are. The rest should come out in the game)
Weapon(s): (if they have any. Include their fighting style if you like)
Reputation in the Faerie world: (if they have one. This isn’t to tell others how their characters should view yours, it’s to let people know if their characters MIGHT have heard of yours before meeting and maybe some things they might have heard said about them. For example, the King’s official army is nowhere near the size of a country’s army as we imagine it so it is unlikely two high ranking members would not know each other at least by reputation if not from working together.)
Side in the war: (including what faction they belong to, if any, and what their job for that faction is)
Special abilities:
Alternate form:

…and I know this probably goes without saying, but I’ve seen it happen too many times to not mention this – a character description form is in no way a short cut. It doesn’t mean you shouldn’t describe your characters appearance in your intro post or put any less effort into characterization.

I’ll post my characters in my next post and start the rp once a few people join…I hope my over-explaining hasn’t completely turned anyone off this role play.))

Name: Spectra
Race: Rainbow Faerie
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Eyes: Neon pink and without pupils
Hair: Short, hanging a bit below her ears. Mostly matches her eyes in colour and has a few black streaks.
Wings: Dragonfly-like and clear, with a pearly shine (like the way bubbles are both clear and multi-coloured). Quite speedy.
Skin: Lightly tanned
Clothing: Bright yellow tank top that leaves her stomach exposed with a black swirl design on it. On her arms, just above her elbows, extending down to mostly cover her hands are drooping lime green arm warmers. She wears shiny black leather shorts that reach her knees with very large light orange stitching up either side. Running through the belt loops of her jeans is an electric blue ribbon which is tied in a bow behind her. Her runners are both black, though one has red laces and the other purple.
Side in war: Queens. She doesn’t belong to a particular faction (she doesn’t support either the ‘we must enlighten the humans’ or the ‘we must enslave the humans’ ideals and many groups have interpreted the queen as meaning one of those things), but she does freelance work for a few. That work consists of venturing into the mortal realm when the moon is full and luring a human or two into the faerie world. She either convinces them to abandon their former lives, tricks them into eating something, or just stalls until the sun rises. Then she begins trying to indoctrinate them however her customer has asked and trying to make them want to be a faerie. The changeling rarely finds out that she’s been paid for them and usually thinks that they’ve joined whatever group they do of their own accord.
Weapon: A C.D. She’s bonded her magic to it and can control it’s movements with her mind, often using it as a flying blade (this isn’t under special because I imagine any faerie could attach their magic to an item if they learnt how). When it’s not being used it attaches to the back of her shirt, right between her wings. She does not always shrink her C.D with her and often rides on it while miniaturized.
Special: Her C.D records everything she hears and she can play back pieces of conversations (and music she likes, mostly techno and dance music…it’ll make sense when you get to her background). Though the recording has to be of something she’s heard, not made up, she often edits what she plays back though in order to twist people’s words.
Alternate form: A snake with rainbow scales, though she almost never uses it.
Brief personality/background: She’s a very social creature and, before the gates were partially closed, spent most of her time in the mortal realm at raves and dance clubs (places it wouldn’t be unheard of for someone to be wearing part of a costume, i.e faerie wings). That doesn’t mean she’s one to have a lot of friends though. A lot of people who think they’re her friends, yes, but actual friends? No. She lies easily and enjoys it almost to the point of compulsion. She can also be very spiteful. However, that shouldn’t be taken to mean she’s a mostly cruel person or goes out of her way to be mean. Yes, she does like causing trouble, but for the most part she likes the people around her to be in good moods. The frustration or petty sorrows of others amuse her temporarily, but she gets bored quickly. Actually, she gets bored quickly with a lot of things and is almost always searching for something new to satisfy herself.
Reputation: She’s semi-well known to those actively fighting/campaigning for ‘The Queen’ or some interpretation of what she stands for, and to some (though probably not many) of the hard-core on the opposite side (though not at all with casual supporters on either side). This is solely because of her work. Generally (not universally) she is either thought to be good at what she does and worth doing business with or seen as an opportunist taking advantage of the war for her own gain and not a true servant of her majesty. Enemies that know of her probably care if she were a ‘true’ supporter of a poser since she’s an enemy recruiter either way. The only way a human would even recognize her is if they frequented the same raves or clubs.

Name: Elly
Race: Changeling Faerie
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Eyes: Black, no pupils.
Hair: Short and medium blue, it curls under around her face.
Wings: Small and butterfly-like, good for leisurely, short distance fluttering but bad for speed and long distances. Colour-wise they’re light blue around the edges with black centers.
Skin: Pale
Clothing: A long-sleeved black dress with a high, frilled, collar as well as frills around the bottoms of the sleeves. At the back a thick black bow is attached. The skirt portion of the dress poofs out quite a bit due to the many layers of white lace under it. It’s a short dress, only going half-way to her knees. The rest of her legs are covered in black and light blue striped leggings. Her shoes are simple and black with silver buckles and she wears white gloves. In addition to her clothing, she also wears a bit of defensive gear. Her elbows, knees, and shoulders are adorned with rounded pads of a silvery metal while her torso is protected by a girdle of the same material. On her head she wears a light blue kitty-ear hair band (not that it’s in any way defensive gear…it’s just there)
Side in war: Kings. She is a fairly high ranking member of the Royal Guard, though she’s never been given command over others. It would be hard finding anyone willing to take orders from her, considering her age and the fact that she was not born a faerie (something looked down on by much of the king’s side). Mostly her job is to find out supporters of the Queen and capture them (or kill, if it comes to that, but she hates when it does…actually, she’s never had to do more than incapacitate someone, though she hopes she’s the only one keeping track).
Weapon: A giant metal hammer/ mallet thing she calls Thor. The handle is long and staff-like while the hammer portion is roughly the size of a classic metal trash can. The mallet part starts about a head above her own. Besides smacking people with it she can cause quick earthquakes by pounding it against the ground. Thor will miniaturize with her if she’s touching it when she shrinks.
Special: None. It’s harder for changelings to develop special magic and she really hasn’t tried. She’s more focused on physical and mental strength.
Alternate form: She can become invisible, though she looses it if she moves too fast or gets hurt. (Meaning she can sneak up on you, but will become visible while actually attacking)
Brief personality/background: She, as all changelings who have completely turned, remembers only fragmented bits of her human life though she has the knowledge she was once human. She has, however, let go of any emotional connection to the mortal world. Her loyalty is to her king and the beings she now sees as her kin. Actually, she sees her lineage as a disgrace she must work hard to overcome (and she’s far from the only one with this opinion). She’s very young for a knight, especially one rivalling commanders in rank, and puts all her strength, skill and heart into proving herself worthy of the title. She tries to act stony and indifferent to all but her mission, but it is no more than that – an act. It isn’t always very convincing most of the time either; she’s really a very sweet girl. She can put on a cold façade when dealing with her enemies, but it melts easily when she feels safe (hard as she might try to keep that guard up).
Reputation: No one not on the King’s side would know she is a changeling (they’d either be too embarrassed about it to let it slip to their enemies or fear it would be seen as a weakness). Hard as she tries to put it behind her it is her former humanity that defines her to most of her colleges. Either she’s overcome an obstacle or she’s a deluded little once-human undeserving of her rank. Enemies might have heard of a younger than usual knight with a hammer taller than herself capturing some of their allies, but they wouldn’t know her by name. Humans wouldn’t know her at all, unless they knew her as a human which is unlikely.

Name: Jaeger
Race: Human
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Eyes: Dark Brown
Hair: Dark blond and hanging a bit on his neck/over his eyes. (Short, but he’s in need of a haircut to keep it that way).
Skin: Caucasian, not particularly pale or tan.
Clothing: Worn, faded, black jeans over old dark brown hiking boots. His very plain navy blue shirt hangs over the top of his pants and is covered partially with a weathered-looking black denim jacket with the words ‘Never forget’ in white, graffiti-looking letters on the back.. He wears a Celtic-looking iron hoop pendent on a metal chain around his neck and black gloves with the fingers cut off. He almost always carries a brown leather drawstring bag over one shoulder.
Side in war: None (as of yet) since he doesn’t even know about the war.
Weapon: An iron chain (about as long as he is tall) and a couple horse shoes. These are carried in his bag and will be explained in his background section.
Brief personality/background: Since an encounter with one when he was 13 Jaeger has believed in faeries. He hasn’t met one since and really knows nothing about them besides what he’s learnt from Celtic myths and legends (which provide mostly half-truths). One such piece of information is that faeries can be warded against, even harmed, by iron. Well, the harmed part would only be true for a very week faerie and only while in the mortal realm. The ward part would provide him some protection (maybe 30-40% less damage) but, once again, only in the mortal realm. His pendant and horse shoes are his wards and the chain (and sometimes horse shoes) are his weapons. (He’ll probably still use them as physical weapons once he finds out they don’t really have much of a special effect and are completely useless in Fae territory)….Oh, and as you might have guessed from his equipping himself against faeries, that encounter left him none-too happy with the magical beings who he believes to have kidnapped his little sister. Though he left it alone for quite awhile after the incident, within the last few years he’s been doing a lot of research and has figured out that the wall separating the human realm from the faerie realm is probably weakest on the full moon. Determined and persistent (…stubborn) with a dry sense of humour and a distaste for fantasy and escapism, he really wouldn’t be the type to read fairy tales if he didn’t feel he had to (though he has developed a secret fondness for them).

Name: Casimir
Race: Dream Faerie
Age: Appears 7 most of the time, is actually very old (even by faerie standards).
Gender: Male
Eyes: Pale blue, no pupils
Hair: Short, straight, and looks cared for. Light green.
Wings: Small and white, shaped more like a dragon fly’s than a butterfly’s, but all four sections are of equal size. They aren’t attached, rather they float behind him. They disappear if he’s unconscious and will turn to smoke if someone tries to touch them.
Skin: Caucasian, fair skinned.
Clothing: White shorts to his knees and a white blazer over a pale green dress shirt and white tie. The emblem of the King’s Guard is over a pocket on the blazer’s left side…pretty much looks like a little boy’s school uniform you might see in anime.((such a lazy description…))
Side in war: His own. He served faithfully in the king’s guard for many years before the war and is the only High Baron who was promoted to his position before the royal couple’s falling out. He was once very loyal to his majesty – he never liked the queen – however he has found his views on the current conflict far more radical than the Guard supports. He doesn’t hate humans anymore than one typically hates squirrels (or other harmless woodland creatures), but they are expendable to him and he views those who wish to stand by them as idiots who are just as expendable. As for the king, he has come to view the man as weak for not taking more radical action. Casimir has aspirations to take his throne.
Weapon: Dust/Rapier. Casimir’s dust is actually his magic condensed into small particles and he will usually create it by blowing on his hand as if it were already there. Inhaling the dust is like doing L.S.D, only the trip is always good. It makes the victim happy, makes the world seem more fascinating, causes pleasant/exciting visions…and leaves one incapable of doing battle. It has to be inhaled pretty quickly after it’s creation or it will dissolve into nothing. Casamir also carries a rapier which he is quite skilled with, though it is a frail weapon.
Brief personality/background: Calm, polite, thoughtful – the perfect little gentleman. It’s a mask he constructed while he was still a knight and realized that others found his total indifference to almost everything to be creepy. It was a hurtful revelation at the time – so what if the deaths of a few comrades didn’t bother him? He really did care about the faerie realm. Service to the realm and his King was about all that mattered to him, along with honour and fairness…Devotion to three of those things has since faded and is only maintained as an act. He still likes to think he cares about the realm. Empathy is nearly impossible for him. He tends to view others as one of two varieties of rodent – rats (useless pests) or rabbits (cute and endearing). Either way he never really feels anything too deep.
Reputation: Well, he’s one of only three High Baron’s of the King’s Royal Guard. He’s pretty well known, or his mask is anyways.
Alternate Form: His usual little boy form IS his alternate form and he’s practiced enough to maintain it even while he’s asleep. Severe injury or using too much magic can force him into his true form, which is a 40 year old version of that same boy.

Hey, Stormy, I'm really sorry for the delay, I promise I'll have it up by today! I just hope it hasn't been moved already!

Edit:
Name: Abri(fam)

Race: Dotum Faerie; one faerie as a part of an organization that calls themselves the Dotum Organization after the name of the faerie that apparently died for the sake of a human, or by a human’s hands. These are typically mortal haters, and seek to rid the connection between themselves and the harmful humans.

Age: 16 Relative to humans

Gender: Male

Basic appearance: The D.O (Dotum Organization) usually wear masks of their pick. Abri wears a mask of the top part of a crow’s head (not real, of course), and usually wears it on the top of his head, unless he is hiding it. He traditionally wears all black. Usually, it’s something resembling a black hoodie (for modern sakes), but sometimes it’s a robe if he is scolded by a particular elder. He wears loose black jeans that are rolled up and sewn at uneven lengths of his legs. He has pointed ears and inky black hair. (Genetic, not dyed, like most in the D.O) His eyes are icy blue, which is why he is constantly using magic to change their colors. His wings look like the crow wings to match his mask (those are dyed, however from blue to black).

Personality/background in brief: He is in the D.O due to his father’s dying wishes, but he feels compelled to help out the queen’s followers as much as possible, because he doesn’t want to be on the King’s side. He’s scared to leave the D.O, because he is unsure what fate awaits him if he does that. He’s a very kind, and merciful person, and thinks everyone has a lot of self worth, even if he doesn’t show it. He tries to act pompous when he can, but actually feels quite cowardly.

He grew up quite rich, with good schooling, and training in the magic field. His father was on the queen’s side, but his mother was on the King’s side of the war, and at his mother’s death (she was a changeling, she was ill, so her death was drawn out, but death came as it will), Abri’s father subscribed him into the organization, so that he wouldn’t be prosecuted even if he wasn’t sure that was the case. His father still lives, but is currently in hiding or in the mortal realm.

Weapon(s): Though all of the D.O’s weapons appear as scythes, they, when used in battle, change depending on the faerie who weilds it, and the individuality of that faerie. Abri’s just falls to the ground, and forms a cobra, which attacks at his will. He prefers to shout the commands to his snake, but if worse comes to worse, he uses his eyes (which he always grew up thinking we weird, so he doesn’t use them) to control the snake, and instill more magic into it’s being.

Reputation in the Faerie world: The Dotum Organization is not notoriously known, yet, because they haven’t done much in the war yet, nor correctly strategized sabotage. Their identities are unknown, as well, besides immediate family.

Side in the war: Forced to be on King’s, though desires to be on Queen’s.
Special abilities: He can summon a small bell, that if he rings three times paralyzes the mind of the opponent temporarily.
Alternate form: He can turn into a general vampire-appearing creature. Really, all that happens is he turns more primitive and vicious when this happens… which is very rarely.

Name: Subera

Race: Animal-Faerie being

Age: 22

Gender: Female

Basic appearance: Brown, thin fur all over her body, very thick on her head (taken to be more human-like), where it’s spiked into tiny spikes just for a ten second effect or first impression before being fought, or fighting in general. Long ears like a rabbit, though they are more flexible, and usually taken in the shape of the upper part of question marks; hooked sort of shape. She has bright yellow eyes tinged with hazel, which she doesn’t cover to show her opponents her animalistic behavior, though, she has very elegant eyes and eyelashes. She has a big black birth mark on her lower back, which she claims is shaped as the crown the queen’s crown. She usually has her brown tail curled around her body like a belt, but sometimes she hold it around her neck.

Subera tends to wear a long green shirt that goes passed her middle thighs, with a big hook in the back, right where her birth mark could be shown. She doesn’t care much for clothes, but feel it is part of the dignity that makes her more superior to other creatures of her land. Dark green sweatpants are usually the second part of her outfit—she doesn’t like fancy things, much.

Personality/background in brief: Subera was told that she was brought from the human world into the Faerie lands, and eventually became who she is, now by evolution, and slight enhancement from some faeries who were sympathetic of her pathetic case. (Though, this doesn’t make much sense to her) She was raised in a small house with a family, and outcasted after the person who cared for her died, because he was a very elderly faerie. She was seen as a threat here, and so they kicked her out, and were scared of her—so Subera thinks. Because of this, she has been wanting to find out what mortal animal she derived from, or if that the story is even true, but is openly on the Queen’s side of the war, because of the little spur of dislike (which used to be hatred, until she met some others) for the faeries.

Weapon(s): It’s usually just claw fights for minor pains that she’s trying to rid herself of, but she does carry a sword given to her by one of the Queen’s subordinates.

Reputation in the Faerie world: She is not well known my name, but by appearance, everyone knows that she is relatively close to the queen, or at least in political terms.

Side in the war: Queen’s

Special abilities: Her eyes have a slight hypnotizing ring about them, and her claws, if she wishes, release venom. Of course this is limited to a certain extent.

Alternate form: A rabid, vicious, version of herself.

Name: Dante Fasce (Fashay)

Race: Noble Faerie; a close cousin of the Queen's
Age: 21
Gender: Male

Basic appearance: A very female-looking male. He embraces this, though doesn't give up all of his masculinity, for it makes him feel superior with the beauty of a woman. He has blonde hair, with flaming red tips. He wears eyeliner, a tad bit exaggerated. He wears purple lipstick, but that's all the make up. However, he does wear studs in his ears. He has wings that are rounded (unlike how angel wings are portrayed in art, but more like how faerie wings are displayed, unlike Abri)

His clothes consist of a black vest with a short purple shirt underneath, and knee-length purple shorts.

Personality/background in brief: Dante likes to feel superior, and better than everyone else, though he knows he isn't. (Does that make much sense?) He also likes cocky attitudes, and sarcasm, because he is convinced they represent confidence. He is kind, however, and acts differently to how he feels, sometimes. He thinks everyone is judged, and needs to get to know who they're judging before they can decide if they like that person or not.

He grew up rather well-off. Normal childhood, nice schooling. Originally joined the Queen's side for a thrill of a no-duty life, and then found that his cousin's ideals were very similar to his own. (The Fasce family was on the King's side. It seemed he was more conservative and responsible with his actions than their cousin would be.)

Weapon(s): He's rather fond of explosives and flash bombs, as well as tear gas from the mortal world, though he often saves those for times where he's in a sticky situation and uses a short sword.

Reputation in the Faerie world: Dante is not really all that well known. He is heard of by his last name, because of his relations with the Queen's family, but he didn't do anything particularly extraordinary to be known. Occasionally he is remembered as the "gender-confused freak" by people.

Side in the war: Queen's (wow, all three of them are on the queen's side, huh? That sucks...)
Special abilities: His camera has been made specifically for him, allowing him to do small attacks like phase people, stun them, surprise them, and such. The more he takes pictures, the more energy he drains from somebody into his camera. It's a rather hard thing to break.

Alternate form: A seductive woman

I'll finish my intro and post it within the next couple days, give anyone else a little longer to join (though I'm doubting that's going to happen). If it ends up being just us then that's fine by me. Still, it'd be nice to have at least three of us.))

((Well, I'm starting this rp now. If anyone who hasn't already decides they want to join then they may, so long as they read everything they missed and post their character descriptions))

Lights of every colour flashed and flared in time with the melodic pounding of some ballad’s techno re-mix while the crowded bodies of would-be dancers struggled to keep up. The air smelt of sweat and alcohol, though no one stopped to notice. Nor did they notice the full moon hanging above the scene of the party, what during the daytime served as a parking lot. The skyscrapers that rose from the ground around their make-shift dance floor also might well have not existed. Same with the very speakers supplying the fast paced music. Inside that bubble of lights and sound it was a world separate from all others. Even if their senses remained un-dulled by various substances, they weren’t paying attention to them.

This was the case with one misplaced faerie, if she can be called misplaced. The 20-looking girl really seemed no more out of place at this party than she would have in her own realm. Her neon pink hair was nothing extraordinary here – there were lots of humans with their hair dyed bright colours. Her wings could well be believed decorations – many partiers were wearing horned head bands, halos or other bits of costumes, fake wings included. Her colourful clothing - from her shiny and long (to her knees), though tight fitting, black leather shorts with the bright orange stitching up the sides, to her flashy, midriff revealing, yellow tank-top with the black swirl on the front and what appeared to be a c.d attached to the back – looked almost typical in this setting. Her accessories, mainly the lime green pieces of silk fastened around her arms just above her elbows and electric blue ribbon-belt that was tied in a semi-large, though thin, bow behind her, weren’t anything remarkable here either. Not that they were common, but really…who cared? No one. Spectra was just another dancer at a rave, getting high on techno and atmosphere (not that there weren’t people there high on other things to)…or would have liked to be, anyways. There was a prodding voice in the back of her head that told her she needed to fill at least one of her ten or so orders this month, but it could be ignored. For now.

Barely two blocks away from the outdoor party a bus slid along the mostly empty road; eleven thirty was getting a little late for most people to be out in their cars. The bus was mostly empty to, save for the driver, a dirty old man who had fallen asleep at some point and a young man of 21 who was wide awake. The youth wore a jacket and pants of faded black denim along with a plain navy t-shirt. His dark brown eyes were stony and held a gleam of determination that the bits of dirty blond hanging over them could do nothing to dim. Jaeger was a boy on a mission and nothing was going to stop him, not tonight. Not knit-picky parents and their nagging about his curfew, not awkward bus routs, and certainly not the otherworldly freaks some referred to as faeries. True, even after all his years of planning Jaeger was barely an inch closer to even having an idea of what he was up against, but that really didn’t matter. He’d waited long enough. When the bus came to it’s noisy halt across from the fairly large park at the heart of the city the blond tossed his brown leather bag over his shoulder and stomped down the stairs in a manner that screamed of purpose.

This park was the same place he’d has his first and only encounter with the beings he thought of as enemies. It had been a full moon then to. He didn’t know exactly what was waiting for him though – couldn’t have hypothesized a whole other world faeries and fae creatures. He didn’t know that on this night you could cross over by simply getting lost in the miniature forest at the park’s center.

It was for that reason that Elly was waiting, at the base of a large tree with big purple leaves. Both her and her enormous weapon were invisible for the moment – the areas surrounding the gates were generally the territory of the queen’s supporters and she didn’t want to get into a fight any sooner than she had to. Her job tonight, as with most of his majesty’s official guard, was to patrol the gate she was assigned to. Make sure no mortal’s ended up stuck in the fae realm and to confront any faeries she suspected were trying to cross over. So far so good, though she knew a handful of queen’s supporters were probably already on the other side before she arrived. Otherwise she probably would have had a battle already.

Abri cleared his throat, and let his finger slick back his dark hair. He let it casually fall down to his back, before sighing, and reluctantly putting it back up again in a ribbon. He felt constricted in this way. He picked up the crow's mask callously off of the ground, peering at it with deep disgust. Nobody grimaced at his mask like he did in secret, he was supposed to "wear it with pride," as people older than he would say.

"Disgusting piece of trash," he muttered before putting it on, and running a finger through his ponytail uncomfortably. He turned to the door, straightened his robe, and walked out through the exit. His grimace deepened as sourly cold air infiltrated his nostrils. He rolled his now purple eyes, and allowed the solemn face to sink down, only to emerge with a passive expression.

"What took you so long?" asked a man with a black panther mask. He had his robes open untidily, and his dark, almost powdery looking hair was strewn across his face and roughly on the back of his neck. He was trying to give off a laid back look, or so Abri interpreted, trying to look superior, was he?

"For goodness sake, smarten yourself up a bit," Abri responded coolly, striding past him, stealing any superiority that the man might have... well had.

"...bastard..."

Abri decided to ignore this remark. It really would be immature to sink down to his level continuously. Besides... the only reason he'd done it was to make himself feel better. He was jealous how free the man could feel doing such deplorable crimes or even bad deeds that they did. Scoffing, he joined the Dotum Organization gathered in the courtyard of some old abandoned place.

"About time, Abrifam... being late is not tolerated."

"Well, yes sir, of course I know that." He tried hard not to roll his eyes, but blatantly fixed his collar trying to still give off a cocky expression. "I was still in the middle of watching one of the innocent people who you deemed untrustworthy."

The man frowned. "Continue to talk, freak. Your mother cannot save you much of a position for long."

Abrifam felt his body unwillingly stiffen. "Yes, sir. I was just merely trying to lighten the mood." The leader scoffed, his thick, dark puma mask bobbing with his own head.

"No matter, Abri, no matter... here's what our next move will be..."

----

"Mmmhhmmm..." Subera slid the end of her tail along her face, in this case trying to soothe herself as she waited impatiently. She knew it would be later than this... hell, it always was later than this. Her animalistic yellow-ish eyes swiveled to the magically enhanced clock... she didn't know how it worked exactly, but she knew that it was on time. How many more seconds would she have to wait? Minutes? Hours? One thing was for sure, after the full moon was conquered yet again by the shining sunlight, no being... faerie nor human, nor animal would cross the barrier into the Fae world. So they better be there on time...

She didn't know what that crazy-ass queen had in mind. It was always one thing or the other... or so she thought. Even so, it captured her attention in more ways than one. She was curious. And for curiousity to be satisfied, she needed patience.

Which was becoming scarce.... when would those idiots be here, so she could begin to plan ahead to go to the mortal realm?!

(Sorry it took so long, Stormy!)

The forested area of the urban park rose in front of Jaeger, a shadowed area at the edge of the brightly lit baseball field. Long over such childish fears as the dark, the young man paused only briefly before entering the woods. A shiver of anticipation ran through him as he did so; he was sure tonight would be more worth his while than the last two full moons he'd spent wandering the park.

No, the hunch did not have anything to do with how so many things in fairy-tales came in threes.

Allowing his eyes time to adjust as much as they could to the lack of light (which wasn’t all that much, but enough to tell if he was about to walk into a tree) Jaeger began his search, heading deeper into the wood than he’d dared gone before. After all, it had been right near the edge where the incident had occurred. Still, he’d searched the edges of the area quite thoroughly before, and that was why tonight he found himself walking ever closer to a border he did not know existed.

-----------

No one was coming…had every defiant faerie in the area made it across before she’d gotten there? Elly wasn’t someone who enjoyed fighting, but she was getting bored just waiting. Sighing quietly, she wished she could at least walk around a little instead of standing in this one spot, but movement risked making noise.

------------

“Don’t you ever get bored around here?” Spectra asked a boy she’d been dancing with earlier. He seemed confused…maybe he’d been expecting something other than conversation when she pulled him away from the party? Heh, his delusion was almost cute. Laughing slightly to herself, the faerie continued with a friendly grin. “I mean, you seem like someone who thrives on excitement and there isn’t a party like this every night…”

The teenage boy wasn’t following; he was having trouble concentrating on anything at the moment. He’d been among those drunk on more than atmosphere…

Realizing the boy wasn’t listening, Spectra roller her eyes and grabbed him by the hand. Speaking in a gruff tone, friendliness gone, she gave a command. “Listen, just come with me. We can do the whole temptation thing when you’re sober.” She was just about to drag the youth off into the night and into the fae realm – another grunt worker for some militia or other – when…

“Mark! Hey, dude, what’s…Oh, I see, who’s your girlfriend.” Another boy showed up, apparently he was just arriving at the party. Well, it was never a good idea to take two at a time so…so much for that. Sighing in annoyance, Spectra forced herself to leave the party completely. She didn’t bother saying goodbye to the boy or his friend; they were a waste of time now. She’d have to hope she met someone in the few blocks she had to walk to the park. If not it was no big deal, she didn’t have a deadline or anything, but the work did keep stacking up.

"What?" his teeth felt particularly hard against eachother, though the inquiring word was barely said in a whisper. His companion sighed, making Abri squint in disbelief. They stopped a way away from the abandoned court yard, mask hanging in Abri's hand rather unwillingly. It was as if he would rather have dropped it, but his fingers wouldn't let ago due to fear. The second he dropped it, he didn't know what he'd do...

He clutched it tighter, as the man beside him spoke from under the mask of a sickly vicious raccoon. Abri swallowed a lump in his throat every time he saw it. However, it helped bring him back to his senses, as the man spoke.

"It doesn't sound so absurd, does it?" Abri was hardly listening, despite the fact he was concentrating extremely hard on listening. This task would be dangerous... would he be able to complete it? It'd be impossible! "Well, does it?"

"Yes!" he croaked, exasperated, in response.

"Don't speak such nonsense, Abrifam, you always do. You know very well that things rarely come through that door." That lie was evident. It was obvious to Abrifam, and the man standing beside him sighed again, knowing it was evident.

"Does he... honestly want me to kill anything that comes through that barrier? What if it's the queen herself?" he asked. The man seemed to have no answer to this, when he hesitated after several seconds.

"I suppose he wants you to die trying..." he smiled weakly when he assumed he knew what the teen was going to ask next. "Why you? Because, dear boy... you had to act all arrogant infront of him and his organization. The man's got pride you know... you, he's willing to sacrifice... not to mention your eyes..."

Abri broke their gaze as his comrade trailed off. The wind sliced through his inky black strands of hair, adding to the bitter and rather wearisome mood of the night. The moon was bright tonight on both sides. And he could feel in his chest the tightening; his conscience was warning him against this--it wouldn't allow it. All he could do was hope that nobody came through that barrier tonight.

"Don't worry so much... the queen is known to be idiotically merciful... perhaps when she shows you mercy, you will take that chance to attack, so we can end this God forsaken war..." his eyes narrowed considerably, "don't freeze up on us, Abri. If you hesitate, we won't hesitate to dismiss you." He cleared his throat. "By any means neccessary."

Abrifam opened his mouth, a witty comment about to made, but when he tried to speak, an unsure whimper was the only sound that had escaped.
-------

"LATE."

"But... they are always late, Subera..." the tired voice of some faerie who Subera could really care less about... no offense.

"Who asked you? Who ARE you? Are you a significant person? If not, why do you speak to me? Hm? I don't hear an answer coming from your lips!" Subera snapped, banging the worn table with her fists. She didn't want an answer, and she didn't plan on getting one. The man just rolled his eyes... obviously he was used to this behavior, despite the fact that she'd never seen his face.

"Seriously, what could be taking so long?"

"Possibly traffic?" came a sarcastic response from a very feminine looking man with blonde hair, tipped with the tint of flaming red. He looked quite full of himself. Possibly a metrosexual. Yes, indeed he must be... that didn't excuse the fact that he was being quite rude. Her eyes flashed, but she restrained from yelling... too much.

"Are you mocking me, sir?" she snarled.

"No, of course not, dear lady, I would never!" he said this with arrogance dripping, and decidedly lacing itself around his every word.

"Is there some point you would like to make?" fury was etched into her vocal chords... much to the satisfaction of this apparent know-it-all.

"No, Subera. Heh." Did he just smirk at her? Subera closed her eyes. These people she didn't feel like dealing with. While he had angered her... it was all tinged with impatience. It wouldn't be her place to take out her anger on this... inexperienced young man.

"Who are you, anyway, may I ask?" Subera asked, just for future reference. He seemed like a trouble maker... possibly a spy... or maybe she was being paranoid again. It happened often. Another glance at the clock suggested the lack of concern in the question. They were very late. Yes... well, not the latest they'd ever been, but it still worried her. She tried to soothe herself with her tail, spiked fur rising on her head in agitation.

"Oh, me? You are curious, Subera?" her hooked-shaped ears twitched, but she did not make any other form of response. "Well, my name is Dante."

"Lovely..."

"I am the queen's first class photographer."

Dare she ask?

(Sorry if this is a bit beside the point... I found out what my third character will be... yayness! Um... so yeah, when I finish typing his profile I'll just edit it up there.)

He was too far in. Jaeger didnt' know how he knew that, but he did. Even though it was too dark to see in any great detail, he had the distinct feeling that he was somewhere he shouldn't be. The air around him just felt difforent somehow, like when one gets lost in a neighbourhood that is not their own. The quiet suburban lawns feel like forbidden teritory and the serene homes seem to shout accusations of tresspassing. He just knew he should not be where he was...or was this feeling just a sign that he was closer to his goal? Well, he couldn't turn back if that was a possibility. Pausing for a moment to compose himself, Jaeger ventured forward with renewed intensity...

...and fully crossed the border between realms.

Also heading towards the border, though from a few more city blocks away, was a certain miffed faerie with shiny pants. Spectra couldn't find anyone to tempt into the fae realm, at least not anyone capable of becoming a soldier for her magesty. She passed and old hobo a couple minutes before but...well, her clients would be less than pleased with him. She still had a couple hours to waste, maybe she should just go back to the party?

There was distant pounding coming from somewhere that he couldn't place... it pounded in his ears in rythmn that seemed to scare Abri out of his skin. Oh... yeah... his heartbeat.

Damn his need to be recognized as a 'trouble maker'! That had not been his intention then, and certainly not now. It had already been decided in his head that he would NOT be the one suspicious of backing out of the Dotum Organization. It was too scary what would happen to him or possibly others if that happened. Just the thought made him nauseous.

Abri bit his lip, constantly worrying about what he was going to do. It was so frustrating... and he was still an amateur, not to mention. They'd sent a youngster to do the work? Is that what they had decided on? He was getting frustrated again... massaging his temples, his eyes flickered from purple to his natural icy blue, to a hesitant dark, olive green. His ears perked up when he heard the eerie wind whispering over the trees in the fae land.

He squinted his eyes, his dark hair flowing past his face. The dark olive tinted eyes slowly eased his way back to their normal icy hue, so he could properly scan the area. He cleared his throat, and he thought that he was probably the only one who could hear it over the wind, but he never knew such things. He stared into the direction of the shadows beyond the trees that he dare not trespass.... not until he was sure something he could handle would come out, anyway.

-----

"You're bullshitting me. You are bullshitting me."

"I bullshit you not, Subera..." an irritated under-tone, "I do not believe we'll have any new... uhh... well, I don't believe that anyone will be crossing the border into our realm."

Subera's eyes seemed to twitch from under her eyelids, until she opened them, and released a full glare at the nobody, who was victim to her terrible gaze. "Well? Are you sure?"

"I can't be," came a scoff, "I'm not of a high enough rank--"

"Then what are you talking to me for? Good God, somebody please get me someone of importance." Her impatience was evident in her animalistic eyes, claws tickling the table in fury, tail jerking at every new sound her hooked ears caught.

"Subera... forgive me, but I am the one who probably knows the most of--"

"Just shut up, please. Has anyone from here crossed the barrier into the mortal realm?" There was a pause that Subera was very displeased with.

"We're... not sure. There are some places that we aren't really sure we know of... or have registered." It was evident this man was suddenly very uncomfortable. She sent him a look that asked a question in itself. "My point is... we really don't know. Possibly some rogues, but none that we know of."

"Shit..." she bit her tongue, jaw twitching in anger.

"Getting too restless might be a bad thing, Miss," came Dante's voice. Subera turned to look at him, eyes not even attempting to cover up the obvious irritation with this man.

"Dante, was it? Yes..." Subera stood up, and strode over to him. He didn't look in the least bit fearful, which surprised her... if only a tad. "Well, Sir Dante... what did I tell you? Hm?" her tail found it's way around his neck, and began caressing his face.

"Several things, madam, many of which I didn't remember due to the fact I was pretty sure all of them were insulting games?"

"Yes, well, most of them were," she mumured. "However, I did mean something, yes... when I said, 'shut the fuck up,' I really fucking meant it. Do you understand?"

Dante's smug expression didn't even flicker, which pissed her off to say the least. Though, he didn't say anything in response, so Subera had found some sort of benefit. She released the male's neck from the grasp of her tail, and walked over to the table she was sitting at with a few others. She hesitated a few moments before ungracefully banging it with her fist twice. "You, Dante!"

"Mmm?"

"Let's go, you're coming with me--I'm sure you know something more than you're letting on... I can smell it."

(Sorry, sorry, sorry, Stormy! ><; It's late, I know. I tried to make it longer this time to make up for tardiness, lol! Though this one was still fun to write... I'm not even sure if you like long posts. XD By the way, I just made Dante's profile, as well.)

It was a strange feeling, the crossing over. It wasn't instant, there was a moment where Jaeger just knew he was in the middle of something, before he was just 'aware' that he was...somewhere else. Nothing looked different, however, so it wasn't that hard to write off the strange sensation as nerves. Still, during his research, he'd read about fairy rings quite a bit - circles of mushrooms that marked the gates to the faerie realm. He didn't believe in the faerie realm though - it was a truly absurd idea when one thought about it. The from the guy wearing a 'magic' chain to ward of 'faeries' and carrying a bag full of iron to fight them. The dirty-blond thought bitterly, really feeling quite ridiculous. Despite the amount of time he devoted to reading fairy tales believing he'd had an encounter with inhuman beings - 'faeries', if you must use the word - when he was younger, Jaeger really didn't believe in magic or anything else 'faerie' related. He believed there was something out there that people had once been aware of, weren't anymore, and that science could not explain because - and only because - it hadn't yet tried. Whatever it was though, it was definitely impossible it had it's own world.

Besides; he hadn't seen any mushrooms and he had been looking.

Stopping for a moment, Jaeger sighed. He must be at the center by now. As big as the park was, the wood was only about a quarter of it. Should he look around here more or keep on in a strait line? Glancing around his immediate area, something caught his eye. In the distance - though not too distant. The length of a bus, perhaps. - there was a figure he was fairly sure was not a tree. A figure with black wings...

No freaking way.

Meanwhile, about a block away (had there been blocks in the fae wood) a young changeling girl still stood waiting for some sign of deviancy. She'd been told not to venture too far into the territory of the Queen's various militia, but really, she knew not much was going to happen if she stayed where she was. At the most she'd end up directing supporters of his majesty away from the area while the enemy did as they pleased. How could she let that happen? It was the duty of the royal guard (well, the King's Guard as they had more recently been dubbed) to protect this realm and she could not do that if she continued to respect the borders claimed by illegitimate radicals! Filled with a sense of duty, Elly began walking into the territory of 'her majesty' just slowly enough to remain unseen.

Back in the mortal realm, Spectra angrily kicked at a dissuaded pop can. She wasn't going to find anyone suitable tonight...damn it anyways. Oh well, next full moon she'd just have to be less picky. If faced with the same situation as tonight, she'd just find a way to take the hobo, the drunk kid, and his friend. Still fuming a bit, she stalked off towards the park.

He would feel foolish, if he'd shouted, "Who's there?" so carelessly into the wind. He was supposed to be on watch... besides, he had no trouble admitting to the fact that he was an amateur--he was. He wasn't going to call out if something big, scary, and strong was going to come out and eat him. He didn't care how childish it sounded. It's called common sense. The whole of the Dotum Organization was lacking it.

His eyes pierced through the woods, trying to see through any magical capabilities. He could sense none. This brought him to two conclusions. There was either a human who had crossed the barrier, or he was being paranoid, and in fact, no one had crossed the border.

He should've done properly, and gone to investigate, but... he never was one to do the wrong things properly. He sat, rooted to the spot, the hair on the back of his neck standing up, as he was filled with intimidation. It could always be something that he hadn't heard of... something that could hide their magical capabilites?

Abri's hand cowered when he gripped the Crow's mask firmly. He hoped it would stop the slight shaking that would show his weakness to the 'enemy,' if an enemy it was. He was a fearful child, practically... against his better judgement, he reluctantly stood up, and strode over to the trees enclosing a space where he assumed the creature was. He was going out on a limb here.

"Hello?" If anything big, hairy, or Queen-like popped out, he'd just run... that was a good plan, right?

------

"I don't see why we're going this waaay!" Sang Dante, obviously quite full of himself, much to the fae creature's displeasure. She sent him a warning glance, which was more like a death wish, and snapped at him consistently.

"Is there somewhere else you would prefer to go?!" she screamed, stopping in her tracks, causing Dante to stop. He ran a finger through his hair, and soon pushed a golden lock behind his ear.

"Oh... yes... however, this way's fine if you really want to go this way."

"Oh? Is that so?" Subera asked, quite weary and irate, because this had been going on for the last ten minutes. "It's funny, because every time I say I really want to go this way, you end up telling me how we shouldn't be!"

"I'm implying we shouldn't be going this way without being rude," he muttered, casually, closing his eyes with a sigh, as if it were the most simple thing in the world.

"Rude? I thought you were lacking etiquette--"

"To you only, Miss, because you seem to enjoy it--" a stony glare was cast at the feminine young man, which he either disregarded or missed, "--either way, we'll end up going my way, once you find out nobody's coming out your way, and by then, the faeries who might have been coming through the gate will probably be back at the gathering--"

"For goodness sake, alright, let's go." Subera's patience was tried. Her last nerve was on the verge of cracking... but she tried not to think about that. How was it, that she was able to keep cool at times dealing with enemies, and so spiteful when it came to dealing with her own co-workers?

-----

He resisted the urge to hum... it would probably make her a bit too mad. He had been teasing her, after all, so it wasn't as worth it to pick a fight when they could possibly run into one. She was just... too vulnerable to these sorts of attacks, it was so funny.

Another flip of his blonde hair, that was just so damned lucious! Jeez, he had some glistening hair, and teeth, and his complexion was perfect... oh, wow, he was perfect in itself.

"Anyway..." he started, allowing a smirk to form on his purple lips. He had to have some sort of satisfaction in seeing her growl. "The reason I'm so sure, is because I'm in a higher league with the queen, while..."

He did that merely to see the look in her eyes when she turned to him, amazed at him, a lowly photographer, questioning her authority!

"...nevermind, Miss Subera, I know you are of importance..." he chuckled to add to the effect, "but, do pardon me when I say I have more confidential tasks then you do? Why, we must be of the same rank, possibly. You are the publicly favored, and I am the 'spy,' to say for lack of a better word, yes?"

"No," Subera responded quite plainly, "I don't care much for publicity, but I can get you fired."

"I beg to differ--" he stopped abruptly, and he felt the chest of the animal-like creature pressing into his back, before stepping back slightly.

"What?" she asked bitterly.

"Someone's... someone's there."

As the form moved closer it became clear to Jaeger that it was humanoid, at least. It was very dark though, and the figure was still obstructed by various forms of plant life...no, he was being paranoid. Humanoid? Please, it was human. A bulky human, bulky enough that his mind (which he'd been forced to fill with garbage about 'faeries') had mistaken that bulk for wings. Still...that didn't mean he shouldn't be worried. Someone that well built wandering around the park at night...

His suspicions lessened when the other spoke. The 'Hello' sounded far too timid to belong to some night-stalking axe murderer and he didn't think the beings he had once encountered would sound so...human. He lessened the tight grip he had had on the strap of his shoulder bag - he'd been ready to whip it off and pull out his chains if need be - and replied. "Hey, sorry to startle you. Guess that's just what happens when you wander around so late."

His voice wasn't threatening or harsh, but it wasn't an invitation to a long conversation either. More of a 'let's both mind our own business' kind of tone. He hoped the second sentence didn't sound too much like an admission that he too had been afraid.

-----------

"H-how did you know?" The whites of her eyes appeared before anything else. Her irises might have come first, did they not blend into the blackness of the night. From there on the slight form of a girl in her early teens appeared - small, dainty and outfitted in a frilly black dress, striped stockings, and a blue kitty-ear headband that nearly matched the hair cupping her face in colour. The girl wore a worried expression on her face - she was mentally berating herself not only for being caught but for stuttering - and did not appear at all threatening. Her frail blue and black wings were even fluttering in nervousness!

Well, that frilly dress was covered in part by silver armour, and she was carrying a tall hammer that looked like it weighed more than double what she did - but besides that.

The nervous display only lasted a few seconds, before the girl shook her head and curtsied politely -one hand on her hammer, the end of which was resting on the ground. "I'm very sorry to trouble you, sir and miss." She stood strait again and smiled a pleasant but forced smile. "I assure you I wasn't eavesdropping - I only just got here..."

Her expression turned serious as she remembered that she was not a little girl but a knight in service of her king - a knight with a duty. "I am Elly, High Knight of his majesty’s guard." She offered no proof, though she could summon up the guard's crest if she had to. It wasn't something she liked to do, however. Using magic, even such basic magic, was not easy for her. When Elly had become a faerie she had gained great physical strength, but her magical skill had always been dull. She'd thought her invisibility was fairly good...but...

"I regret to inform you that this area is off limits, especially on this particular night. It's mostly filled with rebel militia and is thus very dangerous." She spoke like a traffic officer explaining to someone why they couldn't speed - when the officer suspected the person they'd pulled over was also in a stolen car. "Official procedure requires that I escort you back to the local base where you provide the names of references who will vouch that you are not rebels yourselves."

The polite, but false, smile returned. "I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience. I hope you'll understand."

(I'm so sorry Miko, I'll understand if you've lost interest in this rp, though I hope you haven't...

There are five basic ranks in the king's official guard - Squire, Knight, High Knight, Baron and High Baron. Squires are trainees; knights are the basic soldiers who serve under the command of Barons. There were only three high barons, who kept track of the actions of barons and high knights and report directly to his majesty. Being a high knight means that Elly is of the same rank as a Baron, but has been given no squad to command. She works mostly alone, but under the command of a high baron.

Just some boring info for if you haven't lost interest.)

Of course he didn't want to run away, his pride told him not to, but then again, his pride and his common sense were nearly two different things. He was very tempted to run... despite the fact it would shatter his life, career, and sanity... because he'd be running from the Dotum Organization for as long as he lived, if he lived.

"Yes, it seems so... but this is around where I live, and I take a stroll in the park, and I find a..." he went out on a limb, already lying, "...man, walking around at such a late hour, and I can't help but wonder, as well, what you're doing out here..." Fear was the only thing that kept Abrifam in check... Fear of being persecuted, that is. He didn't intend to be so obvious with his objectives either, but he was in a rather dull mood, already mad with his 'boss' and 'comrades'.... hardly. It's not like a human could out-do him in anything. Very much less likely a fight.

It was more of a tendency of Abri's to agree to negotiation, with a, "Ha, you're right, I should be getting off to bed at this time, my mind was drifting..." however, his sourness, he was sure, could be shown brightly through the crow's mask, and he was aware of his eyes as a bright, enticing green. He hoped the colors hadn't changed too much... he'd forgotten if they were blue before...

"We didn't assume you were eavesdropping, but were you?" Subera said flatly, much to Dante's utter displeasure. Surely, being a lady, she knew how to talk like one? Knowing of this furry mass of impoliteness, and speaking to her were nearly one and the same. Very rude, she was, and he knew that could get them into a ditch.

Dante had to push down the urge to quirk an eyebrow in blatant interest, and kept on an impassive look. Out of the corner of his eye, he was midly surprised that Subera wore the same expression. Neither spoke for a few minutes, but then Dante decided that silence would arouse unwanted suspicion.

"We knew they were off limits--"

"Who are you, with your shitty 'King's girl' outfit on, ordering us about like we're his minions? We're not inhumane barbarians like some people I can think of on the spot!" she was fuming... all thin beams of light labeled hope, swallowed by the darkness in a millisecond. Dante guffawed at her moronically, then regained his composure, and smoothed back his hair, and attempted to talk his way out of things.

"I'm sorry, she has an uncommon urge to say things she doesn't mean," he nearly whispered, smirking as if it was fact. "No, it's really no inconvenience--"

"Inconvenience?! Are you mad? Have you lost your dignity? Or perhaps this was a trap, set up by you, you backstabbling little..." she trailed off infuriated, and suddenly turned towards the newcomer. "As for your information, I show my loyalty to the queen! And no one else!"

It was obvious, Dante thought, a painful expression on his face, to see where this was going to go.

Jaeger's eyes narrowed and his nose wrinkled slightly. Were they not both wandering the park late at night? Where did this guy get off acting like he was the only suspicious one there? "Well, maybe I live around here to. You should mind you own business." Any courtesy his voice might have held before had disappeared.

Feeling the rising tension between himself and the other, the human once again prepared to open his bag. 'Faerie' or not, this guy could be trouble. Not liking that he could not see his current annoyance, Jaeger moved himself forwards through the remaining branches between them to get a better look. Huh? He's just a kid...with wings? So, this was one of his 'enemy's' after all. As committed as he had been to his goal, part of him had never really expected to find anything. He was shocked and...happy? No, certainly not. "You're one of them? You're...real?"

Realist that he was, Jaeger shook off the awe quickly. All other emotions in his dark brown eyes turned to distain as he reached into his shoulder-bag and grabed the end of his chain. "I've been looking for your kind."

----------------------

Ordering? Oh, I hope it didn't sound like that...though it would be good if it did, I suppose. Were the thoughts running through her head as Elly watched the two before her. The furred woman was making it clear that they were, indeed, what Elly's side would call rebels. That's what I thought. I should be glad I'll get to do my job tonight...

Maintaining the same polite, but somehow melancholy smile the high knight readied her weapon. This consisted of moving it partially behind herself where it could be more easily swung. She spoke with the voice of someone performing a duty solely out of loyalty rather than someone who actually wanted to fight. "I appreciate your honesty. Shall we begin?"
