The guys that made batman begins are working on warcraft and I have read that halo is also going to be made a movie. I have a feeling warcraft movie will be good but halo won't be.

You should clarify that it is the Producers from Batman Begins. The Producers of a movie are only responsible for a small portion of it's power. The director has a much bigger influence and I think that Christopher Nolan was almost completely responsible for Batman Begins, so unless he's tied to it as well I wouldn't compare what you'll get from Warcraft to Batman.

Well, they are just trying to follow the money makers. For a long time Westerns were big hits. Then musicals and dance movies, then war movies...
With the current generation look at the major blockbusters... Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, X-Men, Spider-Man, Star Wars... All fantasy/action genres. The only problem with more comic titles is that comics are limited (in general) to men 25-40 in today's world. To get more younger people and women added into the audience, games are a good target. More people game than read comics, and lately more women have been playing games (especially the online MMORPG) so it makes a great option.
With comics there are so many different storielines that the fans are used to lots of different things happening, and as long as the movie is true to the characters powers and general theme, they are willing to accept new plot lines. With video games, most are fairly linear so people want to see exactly what they saw in the game on screen, and when things are changed they howl with frustration. That is one of the major problems with making movies from games... the game needs to be open ended enough that you don't have to stick to the exact action of the game. And you have to not make it look massively cheesy *coughdoomcough*. Hopefully Peter Jackson can do a good job with Halo, and if they can get a good director for Warcraft then it will set a better precedent than the current game-made-movie history.

Well with Blizzard's track record, I am positive their movie will be as good as their games. Remember that this is the company that won't release their products unless it meets their high standards.

Based on the track record you would have thought Star Wars I would have been a great film too.
Unfortunately Blizzard will have little to do with the film other than granting their permission to use Warcraft trademark. The Producer and Director will have much more control than Blizzard on the content or quality of the movie.

I seriously doubt that. Blizzard isn't one of those companies that will just give up control. I am sure whatever company they use, they will have equal rights or no deal. And since WoW is so popular I am sure no movie company would risk losing blizzard.

In my opinion Halo is a movie tha could really turn out great.....but most of the time these producers and directors dont try hard enough to give a very good story and go straight to the visual affects and pretty much have the actors shoot everthing that moves........may be another doom 3 movie
WoW would be great if you could get some people who made the LOTR movies....to give it that epic look.....well I have yet to see a good game turn into an awesome movie.......though Tron is an exception

Well, the LOTR director (Peter Jackson) is doing Halo which is why it has potential.
I would still like to see Christopher Nolan take WoW. His films are awesomeness incarnate.

Blizzard and Microsoft know that most games gone movies have not been very good, at all. They *know* this. They also know if they put some actual hard work into these movies they may turn out good.

In all honesty, the star wars movies sucked. Dont get me wrong, I loved them all, but they were horrible films. Also, the new trilogy was the the first one that GL directed, he hired other people to do the first three.
I also saw a lot of problems in the LOTR Trilogy being brought to film, Petey didnt quite live up to my expectations, and they also cut a lot of the story out (time? BAH!), including my favorite part. Although then again, it can be hard to please someone who has read the trilogy 10++ times with a mere movie.
But, I have high hopes for the Warcraft movie, and for me, Halo promises to be another DOOM 3, because all that game really is is shooting everything that moves and fragging their bodies (Yes, even the marines).

Star wars movies sucked? Maybe the new three but the older ones are very excellent in acting, graphics, story and hell everything was great.

WC movie should be good though.
Personally I thought the acting was second to, well... last(You dont get worse than Power Rangers). I loved the movies, but I have seen very little believable acting, alot of it is facial expressions (Which I thought Carry Fisher did a good job with, and Ford somewhat), but most of it is sound, even with surround sound, the fact that Im not there, hearing it, just makes it that much more unbelievable. Also, compare the most realistic acting you have ever seen in a movie where some one gets startled, to a home video where some gets a little scared... not the same.

Why are people so harsh on sci-fi actors? It IS the hardest acting to do. I guess it all depends on your view of good acting. Star wars is Ford's second best performance and not by much.
