Bah, I finally finished Assassin's Creed (yeah, I gave up with it a while ago and only started playing it again from the beginning in the last month). Now what can I play? sad.gif

Arkham Asylum? I'm informed that it is fantastic. smile.gif

Hm. Maybe. That isn't released until the 18th, though.

I notice a lot of buzz surrounding it, and the few reviews that are out gave it between 8-9 out of 10s. Best to exercise caution and download its demo which came out a week ago. Haven't tried it myself as I wasn't interested in it.

As for me, I finally finished The Last Remnant. What a slog. One too many sidequests, and it isn't helped by the lengthy loading times in between levels and cutscenes. Currently playing the demo of Mini Ninjas, Prey and Empire: Total War.

Thankfully, it's possible to skip the cutscenes, though it's not that obvious how you go about doing it - and it doesn't help that nearly all the cutscenes are before the tough battles. rolleyes.gif
Of course, they're a lot harder if you play the hard mode you unlock by beating the game.

True. Since I use a USB controller, I press 'button 10' to pause and 'button 9' to skip it. Found this out by accident while playing.

As for long load times, I used some no-intro hack to remove the intro and I didn't know it also removed the loading screen animation, hence it makes loading faster. The frequent loading between the different areas is still there, but at least it makes it less aggravating.

Either way, I'm done with this game. Overall, it's a good game, but once is more than enough for me. I'd rather go replay any Call of Duty game than this one. winking0072.gif

I haven't had an opportunity to play any games in the past several months except the occasional Rock Band / Guitar Hero (on the upside, I'm able to play about 1/2 the RB songs on Expert and about 2/3 the GH songs on Hard now).

The last one I actually had time to play was Wolverine, but I only got about half way through before I was pulled away from gaming again. Before that I started playing Civ 4 and was able to beat the game as the Romans on the 2nd hardest setting pretty easily but didn't have time to branch out to other As much as I would love to give Arkham Asylum a try, I just don't see myself having the time. sad.gif

Bah, why do all the good games coming out soon have to have enticing and expensive collector's editions? nonono2.gif

The ones I'm looking at are Dragon Age 2, Assassin's Creed 2 and NFS Shift (though that I'll get a normal version of sometime). I already paid £50 for Win 7 for late next month. sleep.gif

Oh well, back to playing Oblivion for now. I never really got into it and the whole enemies respawning in areas I already cleared thing bugged me.

Me neither, plus it got boring for me after a few days of playing it. It isn't helped by it's average story and voice acting, uninteresting characters and running from city to city for main/side quests gets irritating after a while.

After that, I just went back to playing Call of Duty 2. I find fighting Jerry in both Africa and Europe more satisfying than trudging through the plains of Cyrodill. tongue.gif
