Went out to watch James Cameron's Avatar on wednesday night. Pretty good albeit predictable. Not to give away anything about the movie, but just think of it as a sci-fi version of Pocahontas. Liked the visuals, though. Much better than the game version of this movie, if you ask me. winking0072.gif

th_FLEE.gif Gaaaah I want to see that movie so badly....but I haven't yet. sad.gif was suppose to go last weekend but didn't...not goin this weekend. bigeyes.gif hopefully next weekend.

I recently caught The Fountain on HBO. OMG that movie is so interesting and trippy. I didn't see it all start to finish gonna watch it all the way through eventually I really only missed the beginning. But it's an astounding movie as far as I'm concerned. scared0015.gif laugh.gif

Watched Terminator: Salvation on TV. Marginally better than Terminator 3, but it can be a bore at times. Decent, but not great if you ask me.

As I just wrote in Tsu's thread, I saw Inception most recently, but I have seen lots of movies this summer. Eclipse (awesome), Toy Story 3 (very good), Grown Ups (better than I was expecting!!), Despicable Me (not as good as I was expecting, but okay), Sorcerer's Apprentice (okay, but it got to the point that I was so ready for it to end!!). That doesn't seem like many movies, now that I've typed them out, but that is a lot for me. biggrin.gif

You didn't know? I absolutely loved (500) Days of Summer, and I liked him in 3rd Rock, too.

The last thing I watched was This Is England. I found it fairly moving, but probably nowhere near as powerful as it's supposed to be. I did, however, take great amusement from the "Maggie is a twat" grafitti that was frequently featured. biggrin.gif

Watched Australia on TV last night. Decent movie, but feels like a drag to watch it given how long it is. One movie only worth watching once, if you can stomach the length.

~revives thread?~

The last movie I saw (in theatre that was newish) Was Fast Five. So initially I was like...wtf another fast and furious movie? I mean 4 was okay...but huh?

But surprisingly it was kinda awesome. Very actiony and far-fetched but fun non-the-less. If nothing else it's worth watching the Rock and Vin Diesal duke it out. laugh.gif

Other than that I can't think of much else I've seen.....bigeyes.gif I barely have time to do much else but stare at a computer screen....

Just watched Battle: Los Angeles on DVD and I enjoyed it, even though it got panned by the reviews. Not bad for a military-themed alien invasion movie. tongue.gif

After that, it was Shutter Island. It was interesting at the beginning, but ended up being murky towards the end. Didn't enjoy it after that and thought it was a complete waste of time.

I watched Frozen last week. It's about some kids who get trapped on a chairlift halfway up a ski mountain.

First there's the question of 'should they drop to the ground' and when they manage that it's Wolves Vs. Humanity.

The humans don't do so well.

I saw Captain America which was well predictable but supposedly kept to it's original comic book story line pretty well. However, my complaint goes to the compositing, even a non-animation major could comment on it's sketchy backgrounds where everyone was like wow that was totally filmed on green screen and slapped in front of a picture. Good job~! NOT. *grumbles*

I also saw Snow Flower and the Secret Fan based on the book of the same name written by Lisa See. Which was pretty good. Dragged a little here and there. It has a limited release if you haven't heard of it. I actually didn't hate the add ons that weren't in the book.

Frozen sounds horrifying!!! th_FLEE.gif

I didn't even know that Snow Flower and the Secret Fan had been made into a movie. I liked the book a lot.

I am wanting to see The Help, but don't know when I'll have a chance!

Watched Skyline last night. Pretty disappointing movie. Not to spoil the movie but it started off well, and it did a good job in maintaining your interest up till the end where it just flopped. What a waste of time. dry.gif

If you want me to compare this to Battle: LA, I prefer the latter. At least it is more satisfying. tongue.gif
