I wonder if anyone have ever played the Longest Journey before and it's sequel, Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. Well, I didn't really get to fully play the game as my sister's the one who played both of them from start to finish.

Anyway, both are good, to me, though I don't really like the puzzles in the first as the objective wasn't very clear as to what you need to do in order to progress in the game. Also, the game back then was a point and click type game, making it a little bit hard to see in some parts of the map.

As for it's sequel, Dreamfall, the puzzles were much too simplistic even though the puzzles are more logic based. I just wish that the developer (FunCom) would have improved upon the puzzles in The Longest Journey rather than simplifying it. Being logical is nice but not too simple. Another thing is how terrible the controls are in the PC version of Dreamfall. I mean, the mouse controls are inverted until it really feels like playing some broken 3rd person action game. Anyway, the great storyline and interesting characters is what really makes the game interesting to play as you really want to know what happens next. Same for the Longest Journey on this one too. :)

Indeed I did...I completed Dreamfall after Dad bought it for me...I also bought a version of the Longest Journey that would work with Win XP, though as you say it is more complex than the sequel and I haven't finished it yet...

Not to mention that the ending for Dreamfall ends in a way that it wants a sequel. Doesn't feel like the story is complete yet. Lets hope if there is a sequel, they (FunCom) had better fix the controls for the PC version.

I don't know....they killed one main char, stuck another in a coma...and what did they do the other one? Lock him up?
I suppose they could introduce new characters in the same setting or bust him out of prison, though....

Hmm. That is a good question. They (FunCom) could still use the same characters but the options are kind of limited. The only possible way to countinue with the existing characters is the Disciple, the guy who was arrested. And yes, the only two options which is feasible is maybe he can bust out of prison or wrestle with the guards along the way to prison and run as far away as possible. The one in a coma (Zoe) does seem very less likely to be playable. Well, its best to wait and see how FunCom's going to continue the story. :)
