A Permanent Site

OK, as many of you know. The old MassPBMB boards are now down for good. The owner was unable to continue Mass and Planet boards due to money issues.

So now our temporary site has become all we have... for the moment.

I am working on a brand new phpbb board. I bought the domain name, and the host services for two years so we will be ad free and able to grow. I know that everyone dislikes moving around, but we will have security and will have the ability to backup the database ourselves, along with them making weekly backups as well.

This site will remain up and running until we get the new place up and running, then Ill be copying the content from here to there.

Also we will be advertising more d20 modern, and sci fi gaming for those that like RPGs like Star Wars and serenity, and Iron kingdoms. Along with our favorite DnD games.

If you have any ideas for forums you would like to see on the site please post them. After all the site is for the users and you guys know what you want to talk about.

PS... if your a graphic artist or know any....feel free to post some Kingdom of Mass Banners for our site. We might chose yours as our site logo.

As a pretty hard-core phpBB admin, I *strongly* recommend either waiting until v3 is out (so very soon, I can taste it) or not skinning/modding anything on v2.

v3 will have many, many enhancements to security and usability. There will be a converter, so you can start with a v2 board. Unfortunately, converters almost never convert skins or mods.

As much as it might pain us all to not have a custom look, go vanilla until v3. You'll be glad you did.

I suggested that they wait for version 3. Rar. They can go with a graphic and get the official phpBb version 3 upgrade when it comes out then. Subforums will be out with it.

I have already uploaded Chronicles and Spacepilot. Apparent there are not skins for the subforum mod at this time or havent found.


What sort of theme do you want for the banner?

Im not sure yet. Guess that depends on the themes as well. I think a fantasy ooking city backdrop. Course I like the old world Russian archet. Colors I like tans (parchment) reds and golds. Fancy lettering.

Total... Mostly, there are some minor thingies that nobody will miss as those features are not coming due to the limits on bandwidth aka no picture hosting.

The forums are still newly set up and we are still adding and changing things around. plus there maybe mods and stuff added. So I wouldnt go moving games yet. But chatty dragon and other chat threads are up and running.

pretty cool J, i think it looks neat, a little bright for the darker color tho, although it does set it off so that you can tell.....I retract my previous statement it looks great lol
