Alright, I am going to go over the character creation thing here, and then keep track of everyone's progress.
First off, your options:
1. Do it yourself and submit a copy to me: If you have the PO Skills and powers book, and are familiar with the generation process within, you can just do it yourself. If you do not have the book and want to do it this way, let me know, and I can help.
2. Contact me, and I will walk you through it: If you have YIM, ICQ, or AIM, send me a PM and I can talk you through the creation process. If all else fails, we could just use some sort of chat program like yahoo chat, or even Shade's chat here.
3. Create a standard 2e character: If you really don't want to deal with the specifics, you can just make a core 2e character and send it to me. I will then translate it into the rules and give you some options to fill in the blanks left over. It probably won't give you as much in the way of customization, but I certainly don't want to overwhelm anyone.
----------
Progress:
Rex Tyrannus: Character almost finished - awaiting final draft - (Seeker gnome thief)
blacklight: Working on a Seeker Gnome Fighter/Thief
studyflow: Not started
Knight4612: Rolled up - Making a Paladin of Balachaea

This would also be a good place to go over character concepts with each other, so everyone has a general idea of what the others are making, so that if for example:
Player A wants to make a standard Dwarf (who hates orcs.)
Player B wants to make a half orc or orc.
The two can figure out some sort of reason why they could get along, or come up with some sort of compromise.

Hi Knight. Glad to have you in the subforum.
I sent you a set of rolls via PM. I am guessing you have, as several others have, missed my posts about my rather strict rolling requirements..
Generally speaking, I just do them myself. I have simply seen the honor system fail too many times in the past.
I have found that it really just punishes the honest players more often than not, as it is extremely difficult to tell with any degree of certainty whether someone is cheating in an online environment.
So, rather than try to sort it out, I simply cut the problem off at the source. It also has the added bonus that the players rarely have to worry about the specifics of some of my house rules and such, but can still benefit from them without the headaches.
It also gives me an opportunity to incorporate hidden modifiers if need be.
All in all, most of what a player in a D&D game does is make decisions and roleplay. So, that is what I am going to focus on with this game. As for rolling in a forum environment, I doubt it really adds much to anyone to click the roll button themselves rather than having someone else do it, so I don't think it really causes any problems.
Still, if someone is for some reason, a really big rolling junkie, we could probably work something out via invisible castle.

I thought the rolling was only for in-game stuff, I wasn't sure if it applied to character creation too. That's fine with me, I'll use your rolls for my stats.
On another note, I thought I saw somewhere what everyone was creating. Instead of a fighter, I was thinking about making a cleric.

There is a list at the top of this thread of what everyone has thus far.
As for characters, the only one who has chosen anything concrete as of yet is Rex, who has made a gnomish thief.
I will most likely have to make a NPC to round out the party somewhat, as it looks like we will be going along with only 3 to start with at least.
So, I will fill in any gaps as needed until we can get a couple more players in.
=====
As for clerics, I do have some house rules for them you should be aware of. You can find everything you need on my forum, but the most significant one you should know about would be that I require priests to learn spells much like wizards do. I have a whole system for this involving holy items.
I did this because:
A: I have always considered the standard cleric somewhat overpowered. Similarly, I have based my own priest kits on a similar amount of power and rather than nerfing everything specifically, I just created another restriction for all priest characters.
B: I allow a great many spells from optional books like the tome of magic. Every time you increase spells like this, it gives power to priests, as they have immediate access to it, whereas wizards have to find everything specifically. This also goes with the above, as I have tried to balance things out somewhat.

blacklight is currently working on a Seeker Gnome Fighter/Thief.
This puts everyone in good shape thus far, as everyone has now at least got a character concept being put together except studyflow, whom I have heard nothing from.
Unfortunately, we will probably be starting without studyflow, as I am beginning to doubt I will hear from him again.
Anyhow, all that really remains now is for everyone to turn in character sheets.
So, the sooner all of that is done, the sooner we can get started with the game.
