He is able to use whatever he has available to solve the problem currently at hand this sometimes is only brain, brown, and a trusty sludge hammer. Steel is highly motivated to get the job done no matter what.
Description:

Powers: originally John built his steel armor to mimic those of Superman. The armor is bulletproof; the exoskeleton gives him super human strength. Boot jets enable him to fly. His great hammer gave the power-punch he needed to be the stand in superman. His hammer is remote controlled so it can change direction after it was thrown. It also is equipped with inertial dampeners that allow it to gain momentum the farther it is thrown. The armor is comprised of a high tensile steel alloy which protects him from radiation. The solar shells imbedded in his armor keep it fully charged. Inside the armor is breathable fire-retardant fabric. His helmet gives him full life support. The air-cooled cannons in his gauntlets are used to fire projectiles and concussive sonic grenades. The armor can enable him to survive any hostile environments including deep space, underwater, high atmospheric pressure, and extreme temperature.
Weaknesses: Steel’s armor is so high tech that t is susceptible to viruses such as the one used by Brainiac 13 that took over the armor prototypes and made them fun amuck through the city.
History: John Henry Irons used to be a normal engineer. This all changed the day he met Superman. He used to work for the ruthless weapons factory AmerTek. He left the company and desperately wanted to make up for the deaths his designs caused. He was working on the rooftops of the city when he accidentally fell of. He was saved by the man of steel who grabbed him out of mid air. This meeting changed his life. When Superman was killed in a battle with Doomsday John got his chance to fight crime in the name of his savior. He donned his steel armor and became one of the men of steel often known as Team Superman (a cadre of S-shield wearing heroes including himself). He still leads the team and they have aided Superman in his battles against General Zod and the armies of Pokolistan. When Superman returned he was happy to call Steel his partner. He gave John one of his capes which John added to his costume. One of Steels mission is to destroy every last BG-60, the deadly assault rifle that he designed while working for AmerTek. John help Superman rebuild his fortress of solitude and has the entire thing linked to his workshop. Superman himself recommended Steel for league membership realizing that his knowledge of science and engineering would prove very valuable. He has redesigned the entire Watchtower’s security system in the time that he was with them. Steel was killed while releasing Doomsday from the Watchtower to fight Imperiex. Darkside was able to restore Steel’s body by putting him in the Entropy Aegis armor. This was made from a hollowed out Imperiex probe. Steel is still alive but no one knows the cost. This new armor is far superior to his old suits but its Apokoliptic upgrades make it more of a curse than a blessing.
Sample RP: John Henry Irons was as always busy working in his lab. This time he was working on a new weapon to add to his steel armor. Since his armor mimicked most of Superman’s powers he wanted to have something that would act as his “laser vision”. He had been doing experiments with lasers for some time now but had not yet found one that tickled his fancy.
“Sorry Uncle John” his teenage niece and assistant Natasha, also the female Steel said with dismay looming in her voice. “That last laser lost effectiveness after the tenth try. It’s the best trial yet though.” She added on a more hopeful note. John just sighed, he hated not accomplishing his goals, it left him with an almost empty feeling inside. He decided to take a spin out with his armor to try to clear his head. He bib farewell to Natasha who was all too happy for the break and flew out over the city. He scanned the city for some time and spotted Bizarro lurking in an alleyway. He didn’t know what he was up to, and frankly, he didn’t care. Bizarro was an unstable lunatic ready to collapse at any moment and was never safe on his own. Steel swooped down and smashed his hammer into Bizzaro’s head. The anti-Superman was only stunned for a second and swung at Steel sending him flying across the street and straight into a bus. Steel immediately got up and stepped directly into a shower of fire coming from Bizarro’s mouth. Steel’s armor made him immune to fire and he was unperturbed. He did however think Bizarro’s open mouth to be a fine target and fired his new laser straight into it. The big creature writhed it agony. Steel took the opportunity to his full advantage and swung forward with his hammer. WHAM, WHAM, WHAM. Three powerful strokes he dealt, right to the cranium and the clone went down. John smiled as he admired his handy work
“Superman would be proud.” He thought.
Trivia: which other heroes were part of the team that took over for Superman after he was killed and which one was the imposter?
