Supergirl's day off :Open:, the country girl way...

[SuperGirl]

Kara didn't know what possessed her to buy that pick-up truck, but she did. She supposed it was her need to fit in and give the aura of a normal person living at her house, not the girl of steel, residing. As soon as she had gotten it, she went and found the biggest, and wettest mud hole she could find, and tried out the four wheel drive. Kara smiled at the memory, it was almost as fun as flying.

Now, she stood in front of the GMC 4x4 with a bucket of soap and the garden hose, clad in a pair of cutoff jean shorts, and a pink "Team Realtree" mid-drif t-shirt. The pick-up was so muddy, she couldn't even tell what color it was. Kara took the hose and started spraying it down to wash the mud off before soaping her down. Slowly the black paint began to show through all the mud.

She laid down the hose and looked around, seeing no one was in sight, stared at the bucket of soapy water. Concentrating, she let a small beam of heat escape her azure eyes into the bucket. Kara reached down, perfect, just warm enough. Grabbing the sponge, she began soaping down the rather tall pick-up.

A noise startled Kara, with soapy sponge in hand, she turned around to see what it was.

[Sinestro]

Sinestro was now flying over Metropolis. He didn't know the exact location of where he was, but he knew the city. Still hurt from the previous battle, he was taking it kinda slow. He had his ring trying to treat the pain, and it was working, just enough. He noticed a plane flying over the city. It reminded him of Hal.
"Jordan...." he growled. A beam flashed from his ring and blew up the plane, which then started to plummet to the ground. Sinestro smirked in his ability to destroy things so easily.

[SuperGirl]

Kara saw a yellow beam of light shoot towards a plane and crash into it. The plane started to nosedive toward the ground. "It's going to crash into these houses." she said out loud. Kara ran at super speed into the house and changed into her Supergirl costume in a flash and ran out the door in a blur. She shot towards the heavens, toward the falling plane. Flying up towards the nose, she put her hands up to catch it. Still falling, she concentrated hard, willing the plane to stop. Kara had never tried to stop a falling plane before, Clark was always around to tell her to stay back.

She felt the plane slow, and she guided it to a vacant lot and set it down. She smiled and waved to the pilots through the front window. They had some very relieved looks on their faces. Kara flew off to find the source of the problem, she had her guesses but wanted to be sure....

[Sinestro]

Destroying the plane had made Sinestro happy. It made him think of the death of Hal Jordan. The death of Jordan's father, Hal's greatest fear. Great Times Sinestro thought to himself.
"Incoming object in area. Danger! Danger!" the yellow ring announced. Sinestro looked around and noticed a blue and red object flying towards him. "I knew it! Super....."
Sinestro looked at the person. It was not Superman. It was...."Super....girl?"

[SuperGirl]

The girl of steel came to a halt. Looking at the man in what appeared to be a yellow version of a Green Lantern suit. That could only mean one person....Sinestro. The same guy they made fun of in Duck Dodgers cartoons. John had told her about him, and she knew she should probably call for back up....but figured she could handle him....

[Sinestro]

He stared the girl down, making sure this wasn't an illusion. The ring started speaking to him again. "Supergirl. Kryptonian, related to Superman. Highly powerful."
Sinestro squinted at her. "I have no reason to fight you. The only thing I am in search of his Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern. Tell me where he is and I may decide to spare your life."

[SuperGirl]

Supergirl raised a perfectly arched eyebrow at him and laughed. "You know I'm not going to tell you." She said to him, Even if I knew where he was. she added to herself. "Whatever problem you have doesn't mean you have to take it out on innocent people." Oh my god, that sounded just like Clark. She thought to herself.

[Sinestro]

Sinestro knew she probably didn't know the answer. But he knew that the watchtower where the JLU was located would be able to tell him. "Fine. Seeing as you have no idea where he is, I will simply find him another way." Sinestro began to fly upwards towards the watchtower. He was still treating his wounds, which were now almost healed.

[SuperGirl]

"Thats probably not a good idea." She said as she flew after him. Kara knew this guy was up to no good, and flew up behind him to grab his arms behind his back. "You just tried to take out a whole plane, I'm not going to let you just fly into the Watchtower and cause trouble."

[Sinestro]

Sinestro felt the strong grip of the Kryptonian woman on his legs. He wasn't going to just let him go.
"This does not concern you. I suggest you stay out of my way before you get yourself into a heap of trouble!" Sinestro then fired a beam right at Supergirls face. The blast knocked her back a ways, but she recovered quickly. Sinestro was already speeding away. Supergirl speed after him. Sinestro turned and put Supergirl into a bubble of yellow energy. He slowly came down next to the bubble, watching her pound away at it. He stared into her angered eyes.
"Now tell me my dear," he said calmly. "What is your greatest fear?" As his eyes stared into hers, a parasitic demon made of yellow entered into the imagination of Supergirl. It was not infecting her, but merely showing her what she fears most. The thing that would drive her off the chain, and into a never ending pit. Her deepest, and darkest fear.
Sinestro watched as her mad face turned slowly into a face of fear and cowering. He let off the bubble, and continued to the Watchtower. Supergirl stayed in mid-air, on her knees, in pure fear.
"All hail Parallax!" Sinestro said under his voice. "All hail FEAR!"

[SuperGirl]

After having a few terrible visions of the people she cared about, dead, Kara snapped out of it and flew after the man. After getting in touch with the watchtower, (see communications), she flew after the man. "Stop right there, you think I'm just going to let you waltz in the watchtower!?"

[Sinestro]

Sinestro turned around to find that Supergirl was following him again. "You got out of that faster that I thought you would. Well, it looks like I might actually have to take you seriously, little girl."
Sinestro put up a barrier in front of himself before the Kryptonian could hit him. He then proceeded to imagine various instruments of pain from his ring. "This might hurt a little." he said smiling.

[Jayna]

(It was open and I'm hoping this is okay...)

During that time, Jayna sat in the watchtower's Monitor Womb where she was going on about things. The sound of SuperGirl's communication came in clearly and Jayna listened to it with the up most attention. Though as it clicked off, she began to worry.

"Sinestro...Sinestro..." She mumbled as she bit her nail on her thumb and began to try and figure what to do. "Shoot! I have no clue what I'm doing..." She pretty much understood that her own powers against Sinestro would most likely end up with her as a taxidermy animal so she quickly went to find others. But before she could get down to the hall, a hand grasped her on the shoulder.

"YEah!" She yelped as she smacked whoever it was with a book. The figure tumbled to the floor and into view. It was Zan, he just sat there rubbing the side of his head and looking at her with confusion. She looked at him with annoyance and growled, "Oh it's you!"

"Well no duh!" He replied, "Who did you think it was? Why are you so jumpy? There's no one here except for us and a few heroes..."

"...And were about to have Sinestro show up and kill Hal!"

"...who?"

"Sinestro!"

"Who?"

"Sinestro!!! Guy with yellow ring of death!!!!"

"Oh!.....who's Hal?"

Jayna slapped her forehead and grabbed her brother's arm. "You are an idiot...Even so, You are going to help me hold him off for a bit! We have to help Supergirl with this!"

[SuperGirl]

"Hey, who you calling a little girl!" She said to him as she stared him down, her blue eyes now glowing red. She noticed he had encased himself in a protective force field so her heat vision would do her no good. Besides...she was letting her temper get the better of her right now. She needed to think this through before acting, besides, he couldn't possibly harm her much.

[Sinestro]

Sinestro noticed that Supergirl wasn't going to give up. "Looks like your going to take this fight seriously. Well, it seems I must too."
With unthinkable speed, Sinestro changed his game plan. He took down the various weapons he had imagined, and started to use a technique his rival used from time to time. Boxing gloves.
"I've fought Jordan enough times to find out that this strategy works fine against fighters such as yourself." He quickly darted towards Supergirl, right fist cocked back, ready to strike. He swung a punch, but the Kryptonian caught the fist easily. Just what he expected. He used his thought to make the fist made out of his yellow ring swing around to strike her in the back of the head. "You'll have to fight smarter if you want to beat me!" Sinestro laughed.
"WARNING! WARNING! POWER RING AT 5% POWER! RECHARGE NEEDED IMMEDIATELY!" Sinestro's face turned from an evil grin, to a concerned anger. Have to finish the fast!
