Silence..

We open in a gym, from the looks of it a very nicely setup gym. The interior is gleaming, bright, and all of the machines are in top notch condition. Dominic Chance is laying down at one of the bench presses, the bar held firmly in his two hands. Down, and back up. There is no sound, no clinking of the olympic style weight sets. No voices from the few others who seem to be enjoying as intense a workout as the hulking frame laying on the bench press. Chance's neck seems to buldge with each push of the chunk of weight that sits on either end of the bar gripped in his hands. With a final push, he moves the bar back slightly and places it on the bench. He sits up, his mouth opened in a silent scream. Sweat pours down from the cleanly shaven head, dripping off the tip of his nose onto the leather bench below. Now there is sound..a high pitched buzz. It starts at a level that is barely audible, and begins to rise. It continues to rise until it is drilling into your brain. Making you want to stick pens into your ears so you can no longer hear..

And then there is sound. Sound so loud that it is unbelievable that people could stand in its wake for so long. Let along lift massive amounts of weights, as the few who are in the room with Dominic Chance all seem to be doing. Breaking the silence, the song beats.. "Determined" by Mudvayne.

GO, SO FUCKING DETERMINED, YEAH.
YEAH GO, YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT. CONFIDENCE
GO, SO FUCKING DETERMINED, YEAH.
YEAH GO, SPIT OUT REASON, YEAH.

I'm tired of holding up the weight.
The weight of the motherfuckin' world.
All I want is to just get right.
HERE RIGHT NOW!
We struggle and fight just to get in the grave.
That's overflowing.
Clock's ticking on my fifteen minutes of fame.
Come on now....1 - 2 - 3..

GO, SO FUCKING DETERMINED, YEAH.
YEAH GO, YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT. CONFIDENCE
GO, SO FUCKING DETERMINED, YEAH.
YEAH GO, SPIT OUT ALL REASON, YEAH.

I'm flushing the trust of everyone, stabbing in the back and thinkin' they can break me.
Set my sight can't die until I'm done..
MIND ENDURANCE!
Never wanted any more than what I deserve
Better bring it..I'm taking it all.
Fuck an inch 'cause I'm bringin' a mile,
It's on now.. 1 - 2 - 3..

GO, SO FUCKING DETERMINED, YEAH.
YEAH GO, YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT. CONFIDENCE
GO, SO FUCKING DETERMINED, YEAH.
YEAH GO, SPIT OUT ALL REASON, YEAH.

This fire, is growing, it's burning, deep inside of me.
Focused, driven, certain, the way it's got to be

FIRE, GROWING, BURNING, DEEP INSIDE OF ME !!!
FOCUSED, DRIVEN, CERTAIN, THE WAY IT'S GOT TO BE !!!

CROOKED (No Trust)
LIAR (Conman)
DRUNK WITH (Power)
MENTOR (Taught me everything that I know)

SO WRONG,
WRONG
WRONG
WRONG

1 2 3 !!!

GO, SO FUCKING DETERMINED, YEAH.
YEAH GO, YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT. CONFIDENCE
GO, SO FUCKING DETERMINED, YEAH.
YEAH GO, SPIT OUT ALL REASON, YEAH.

GO, SO FUCKING DETERMINED, YEAH.
YEAH GO, YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT. CONFIDENCE
GO, SO FUCKING DETERMINED, YEAH.
YEAH GO, SPIT OUT ALL REASON, YEAH.

The music ends abruptly, and silence returns. Or maybe it just seems that way after the deafening thumping of the song. Because now the clanking metal can be heard. The grunts can be heard as the weight is pushed and pulled. More clearly, though, the deep breath of the man sitting on the weight bench can be heard. This is, after all, the reason why we are here..

"The old saying is that silence is golden..If that's the case, Inferno, they should just hand you the belt tomorrow night. Too bad, for you, it really isn't. Silence gets you no where these days. To be seen, you have to first be heard. You have to make your statement. My statement will be made, because I have every intention of going into that ring tomorrow and showing why Dominic Chance is called the Abomination. Why I am a freak of nature, not only for my size. But for my ability to delve out pain, and punishment. Because there is no concious here that makes me not cross that line. No pity or empathy that makes me not want to destroy the man standing in front of me. Silence was golden in the past, when it was best to stay out of sight and out of mind. Now, however, the more volume you can display the more money you can make. Inferno, can you feel it? Drawing closer? I certainly can..

I'm going to go into the ring tomorrow night, and make it perfectly clear why I will become the first ever IWC World Heavyweight Champion. Why I will become the standard that all future champions must be measured by. I am going to do it by completely, utterly destroying the hand picked chosen one in the very first show ever."

Dominic Chance lays back down flat, sliding under the bar and lifting his hands. He lets them rest on the bar, opting to not yet lift.

"To all of you in the IWC..Learn from Inferno's mistakes. At least try..and it will only be try, to stand up and face what you're going to get..."

The grip tightens, and with a loud grunt the weight is pushed up. He steadies the bar and lowers it down, exhaling sharpy as he pushes against it. With each rep, he spouts his final words.

"I am..Ahh
the middle finger..Ahhh
of God..Ahhhh
Laughing at..Ahhhhh
Everyone one..Gaahhhhhh
Of you......GAAAH"

The bar is placed back on the rack with a clanking thud. Dominic once again sits up, the sweat dripping down his face like a waterfall. A grin spreads across his lips as he gives a wink for the camera..The image of your first IWC Champion. Who doubts that?
