The Helaen Struggle

The world of Helaeis has changed quite a bit since the fall of Mervagus and Malakyrn. Since then, both the Pure Elves and Draconian Elves have acquired new High Priests, who continue the fighting between the two races. High Priest Decland has brought upon the Pure Elves a sort of Golden Age, trade, order, and general satisfaction greater than ever before. High Priest Anthalus has been going strong since Malakyrn’s death, Faerak a powerful and impregnable fortress. Other races are meeting with similar success.

Valkyries; a prouder and more majestic race there never was. Queen Freya has decided to associate her warrior maidens with both the Pure and Draconian Elves, not allowing her dislike of the two to effect her judgement. Dwarves; the friendly children of Gaia have taken a stance somewhat similar to the Valkyries, King Gresnah deciding to trade with both groups, Massecht and the surrounding area treated as neutral territory. Other groups don’t share these views of neutrality.

Humans; a passionate and fiery race, dislike both Pure and Draconian Elves. By King Brendan’s decree, all Humans are ordered to attack any elf on sight, their fighting keeping the king from his dreams of conquest and new lands. Mermen; a swift, yet mysterious race, which finds all others bothersome. While not as hostile as Brendan, Queen Undine warns her people to be wary of the Elves, and to distrust any outsider. In a world with no true alliance, a power struggle is imminent. The Helaen Struggle begins...
