Are Role-Playing-Games Good or Bad? Specificly table top or pen-n-paper RPGs in the tradition of D&D? If they're no good, why? If you like them or don't find anything wrong with them, why? Hash it all out here.

We didn't get to finish this conversation at Blake's house so I put it up here. Knew you like it. Plus I've got a zinger waiting in the works.

QUOTE (Melody @ Jun 15 2007, 01:19 PM)
Weeeell, I'm not precisely sure what exactly we're talking about, but I like RPGs...

1. I don't mean computer RPGs. They are to limited for this dicussion. I'm talking about games in which you can do just about anything you want that the GM will allow.

2. Specificlly I'm talking about fantasy games, mainly because of the added element of witchcraft in them and because they deal with thing that are supposed to be more blatantly evil and thus can act the part more.

3. Lots of people (read conservitave christians) have problems with games that fall into the above two categories.

Does that answer your question Melody?

Okay well let see...the whole "spelling out" spells is a bit much I think...IDK

I think the real debate that we were talking about, Mel, was weather or not when your playing a table RPG game, and you act like your casting the spell, are you participating in whichcraft?
