Sorry if there's another topic for this already! But it seemed to fit here.

Obviously there's a bunch of people here who write, so! What kinda stuff do ya'll write?

Personally, I write fantasy and pretty much all subgenres thereof--currently I'm working on one urban fantasy, one futuristic/post-apocalyptic fantasy, one fetch-quest fantasy and a couple that don't classify themselves so neatly. I tend to write really LONG stuff and I get distracted a lot, so I'm almost always working on more than one story. Also, I take myself too seriously, so a lot of my writing gets very dark even if the original idea was lighthearted.

Also, as a handful of ya'll know already, I beta-read, or edit for free. I've been doing that since I was about fourteen (I'm nearly 21), and IMO I'm pretty good at it, though sometimes slow, because college wants me to die of homework-overload. @_@ But if you're willing to wait and you want some detailed critique, let me know!

:D

I Like to write fantasy, but sometimes i write si fi stuff.
right now i'm working on 2 different fantasy books, and one thats a mix between sifi and fantasy(i don't know if you have ever played final fantsy games, but its kinda like that)
Generaly i prefer fantasy though.
but yeah school does pile up for me, so i never seem to be able to write as much as i want...

I like to write in all sorts of genres. Fantasy, sci-fi, contemporary fiction, historical fiction, and...whatever else there is. tongue.gif

For my NaNoWriMo I wrote a contemporary fiction/science fiction mix. cool.gif

Hmmm...I wish I had time to write stories...but I usually am stuck to essays about ancient Greek people (for school...). Probably my fav. to write is Historical Fiction (I love history!!!!), although I usually don't have much time to look up TONS of info about a certain period of time... sad.gif so as a result, I am have to write fantasy or something...I especially like to write alagories...but, having the curse of being a perfectionist (yes...It is a curse!) I never get more that five pages into a story before I find tons of things wrong and anoying about it or upoetic, so I usually drop it then...basically, all that to say I'm not much of a writer beyond essays about ancient Greek people... sad.gif unsure.gif happy.gif

My strength I think right now is in Fantasy. I like to do a bit of contempery writting. But I'm not very expereinced in that right now. I don't have a lot of time to write during the school year.. I've got the same stuff as Margurite does.

(oh yeah and Vareth this fits perfectly here!)

I like writing fiction in general...about people I can actually relate to, but I STINK!!!!!!!! It drives me insane, I get a good idea, get midway through, look back, and realize that it's a really terrible story (or it's too similar to something I've read.) Maybe one of these days I'll actually finish a story.

I like fantasy too, but I can never make up a bunch of things. I guess I'm a very reality person...kind of like Susan Pevensie.

I write a bunch of stuff. For NaNo, I wrote (and am still working on)... well... I'm not exactly sure how I would classify it. Vareth, you know a little bit about it. What would you say it was? I guess it's kinda historical fiction, set in Ancient Greece. (i love ancient greece with all the gods, goddesses and heroes) It's not entirely historically accurate, but hey, it was for NaNo and I didn't actually start writing until the 15th or so, so I was more concerned with actually getting the 50K written instead of being historically accurate. When I edit, I'm gonna go back and fix anything that's super wrong, but for now, *shrugs* eh, it was just for fun. It's not like I'm ever going to publish it or anything.

I might take you up on the editing offer, Vareth, although I know it's really bad. It was my first time writing a bunch of the stuff that's in there and I know it's bad, so I'm not entirely sure if I want anyone reading it. Then again, it might be a good idea so I know if I wrote that stuff all right.

Yeah, I know. She edited something else for me. At least, she read through it and gave me her feedback.
