Depending on how you found your way here, you may be wondering ‘What the hell is the Entertainment Alliance?’

Well here is my attempt at an answer.

Many of the members here are from another board, called the ‘Department of Mysteries’[DoM], which is a Harry Potter board. Those who don’t like Harry Potter, worry not. We don’t talk too much HP here. Mainly just in the HP section, under ‘JK Rowling’.

Before the DoM was created in June 2004, it was another board, on another host, Network 54. It was then called ‘Harry Potter Rumours/Discussion Board’.

In mid 2003, Keyca started a book club board on Net54. Around the same time, I started a movie review board on Net54. Some time later, I suggested that we should form an ‘Entertainment Alliance’[EA](A name I came up with at the time, that somehow stuck). I suggested that someone should make a TV board, and then all three boards, could be connected by links. In October 2003, the EA was formed, consisting of my Movie Review Board, Keyca’s Book Club, and Andi’s TV board. Andi has since mysteriously disappeared from the world of Internet Message Boards.

In June 2004, when the DoM was created on InvisionFree, I decided it was time to upgrade the EA to a better board system as well. I set up an EA board on EZBoard. Keyca didn’t really like the EZBoard, so he decided to keep the Book Club on Net 54.

In May 2005, Keyca started this board here, and I moved the other EA boards onto here also. And that is how the EA stands today. For the most part, Keyca runs the book club, and I run the EA Discussion Boards of movies, TV, Music, and Video Games.

There's a saying: people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Okay, how about... nobody should throw stones. Thats just crappy behavior. My policy is no stone throwing regardless of housing situation. There is one exception though: if your trapped in a glass house and you have a stone, then throw it. What are you an idiot? So really its only people in glass houses should throw stones, provided they are trapped in the glass house with the stones.... - Demetri Martin

I'll add on to your timeline, Ri:

June 4th, 2005: Chris (AKA Keyca ... Me) opens up a MySpace group called "The Entertainment Alliance". With http://groups.myspace.com/EntertainmentAlliance being the address, you can check it out for yourself. I made it to advertise to the whole huge MySpace community, to invite them all here to join in.
