LoZ or AoL?, Not just giants... Titans!

AoL pwned. Despite that the graphics and the fact thats its amazeingly hard, Its pretty cool! I loved the levels that you gained. If they made a wii like that, It would pwn. So, which one is better?

AoL was better, simply because it was more challenging than LoZ...

That, and:

AoL was the first game to feature an Iron Knuckle. Woo!

AoL was a lot harder, but I didn't like the side-scrolling-ness, as well as the game mechanics. They tried too hard to make it more like a regular RPG with the spell lists and all... Not to mention the game really didn't have much plot. "Zelda fell asleep, so I'm going to make a big deal out of it and travel all over Hyrule, all over the next continent looking for random glowing purple balls that will apparently wake her up"...

On the good side, this is the only Zelda game where Link gets anything... Everyone knows what happens after the curtains fall down while Link and Zelda are standing right next to a bed. . . . . . =]

LoZ wasn't all that great, though. Regardless of whether or not is was the original, it's still not that amazing next to the 'epicosity' of AoL. The only reason that people were so enthralled with the original was the Lithium Battery, which made it possible for people to save rather than using the tedious password system.

And you're saying no one liked the game? Apparently lots of people liked it, or Link wouldn't have become one of Nintendo's Big Three mascot characters... DK, Mario, and Link.

I liked the dungeon layouts better in number 1, though. And AoL didn't have a second quest like many of the other Zelda's (LoZ, OoT, TWW). And side-scrolling... GAH!.

It was also impossible to save unless you died three times. People like me who like to give ourselves a challenge by beating Zelda's with no deaths have a little trouble there. Leaving a SNES on for more than three days is a bad idea.

I melted a few cartridges myself like that...

For me it would have to be LoZ. Much harder in my opinion actually. I completed the side scrolling AoL very quickly, but spent ages trying to find the various dungeons in LoZ. Also the fact that the game didn't give you much direction added a level of adventuring that really made the game that bit more fun. Better then any of the Zelda games that came out after it in my opinion. Closely followed by AlttP.

I own AoL, and haven't beat it, and I've played a little bit of LoZ and haven't beat it. I'd say I like LoZ better though. The game that started it all.
