The blunderbuss fires like a template. Measure a straight line from the blunderbussiers as wide as the unit that is 12 inches long. Everything in this "fire zone" is hit on a 4+. Keep in mind that they may not fire if friendly units are in this "fire zone".

Everything inside the death zone is hit on a D6 roll of 4+ (roll for each model)

The models that are hit take a S3+1 for each rank of the blunderbussiers, to a maximum of 5.

Consider it a template weapon.

Yup. The rules are quite confusing the first times you read them, but it's a really unique and characterful weapon smile.gif

And it's really powerful when you cover entire units as well happy.gif

Strength 5 shooting at cavalry, then as a charge reaction? YES PLEASE! Of course, they are awesome for low toughness, low armour troops as well. Meatshields are useless against them also. They get shredded and the unit behind will probably still get hit anyway! W00t!

The best is to be able to hit a unit behind woods due to one or two visible models, and then hitting everything in the woods and behind it.

Charge reactions for the blunderbluss isnt the best if the unit is outside your 12" range. Tehn only the first row gets hit.

Every rank of at least four models that YOUR unit has, after the inital will add one strength to your shoot. This is up to a maximum of strength five.
