The New Pups

It had been nearly a week since Palla had given birth to the most wonderful little beings he could ever imagine being his offspring. Palla was curled up in the corner of the den as the pups nursed and snuggled to get warm. Pillars moved the large brute over to them, orbs looking at his young. Larka was curled up next to her brother. A smile came across his maw as he licked her gently. He then licked Palla making sure to not make her up. He watched as the pups flinched and stirred in their sleep. The adoreable little bundles would soon be big and ready to explore the world. Huttser wished that they would open their eyes soon so that they would know their father.

The ebony colored brute yawned and outstretched his front paws and stretched. He shook his fur clean and lay down next to the pups. He enjoyed watching them sleep, watching their little chests rise and fall with every breath they took. Just knowing that if he watched them, they would for sure be safe was a good reason to stay there and watch. Chasms switched bewteen the too pups. If anything happened to the both of you I don't know what I would do. he thought and smiled, nuzzling Larka and then Kosov.

Even though darkness consumed her at the present time, an ivor' pup searching for her mother to suckle from. She finally found the source of food and wrapped her lips around it and began to suck at it. Warm milk poured into her mouth and she was contented with the constant flow of food into her. She soon released and nuzzled next to her mother, she knew it was her mother, she was sure how, but she did. Suddenly a wet warm met her back, it was the touch of her father, she knew that instictively as well. She squealed in mild joy as her father nosed her gently, she loved him so, even though she didn't yet know him.

She knew she was protected with her parents beside her, she searched for warmth provided by her mother. She senced her brother beside her he was special to her as well, he would be a good playmate to her one day. But she knew she was special, she wasn't sure how or why she knew, but she was, and sighed. She nestled herself there and fell into a sweet, uninterupted sleep.

The Next Day

Huttser awoke to the rise of the sun, the sunlight cascading into the entrance of the den. He fluttered his eyes open and opened his mouth wide into an enormous yawn. Standing up, he strecthed and shook out his coat. His stomach was growling awfully loud and so he decided that he would go out with some of the pack to find food. With Kipcha and Khaz with him, they took down two deer and dragged them both back to the den where they let Palla eat first since she was alpha male and also had puppies that needed her nutrients. After she had eaten, the rest of the pack dug in, Brassa and Bran being last.

You could hear soft whimpering behind Palla. Huttser walked behind ehr to see both of them pups whinning for warmth and milk. He laughed and walked up to them, nuzzling them both and laying down to help give them warmth, giving Palla a little break since the pups had already eaten in the morning. Both of the pups needed a bath this morning. Kosov was first. He licked him clean and moved onto Larka. With his paw, he scooted her to his muzzle and began licking ehr gently to clean her coat. When he was finished, he put her back next to Kosov. He lay there for awhile to start giving them warmth.
