Hi guys, as most will know we are hosting Winter War in aid of the British Legion Poppy Appeal.

It's going to be on 14th of November, day prior to armisice Sunday.

Tickets will be £15, ALL profit will go directly to the charity.

On the day we will also have a brand new box of SpaceHulk that we will be selling raffle tickets for.

The idea that we had regarding charity rerolls has been abandoned for various reasons but we are still looking to clear £500 for the charity through ticket sales and the raffle.

Pizza will be provided as normal by the Brig Chip Shop

For those that are interested, here's a link to the pack

WINTER WAR RULESPACK

There are 48 spaces, some of which have obviously been snatched up by DWARFers and I'm sure the rest will go quickly.

For those in other clubs, let your mates know. I will visit as many other forums as possible

Tickets will go on sale as of Monday 28th September.

Cheers guys, hope to see you all there.

Brian

Seems a solid rulespack there. Nice touch with the voting slip points.

I'm definiately gonna be there. I'll ask folk round the club if anyone else is looking to go.

Seems like a pretty good rules pack, as per last one. Where's flank attack though, my rulebook doesn't even go up to page 150 let alone 250 biggrin.gif

As a side-note its very commendable what you're doing for the Royal british Legion smile.gif

I assume you have the skull pass book then?

Haven't a clue what page it'll be on in that biggrin.gif

Flank Attack is basically the following.

Players roll for attacker/defender.

Defender then sets up his full army.

Attacker then gets to wait until his opponent has fully deployed and then choose which of his force (if any) flanks the enemy.

Attacker then sets up his whole army aparts from his flankers (again, if any). Flanking units arrive from reserve starting from Turn 2.

Defenders gets double VP's for any flanking units.

However, in all the times I've played this scenario I've never seen a single player who won the roll for attacker choose to setup a flanking force, which means the game just changes into a picthed battle but with one player getting the advantage of seeing his opponets entire deployment before he sets up.

Hi guys, A quick update.

Just to let you know that there has been some interested parties from groups that have not been to our events in the past.

Couple of tickets been paid for by guys at Livingston Battlegrounds, also some interest from The Gaming Kingdom, waiting to see how many are intending to come down.

Also some faces from within our own club, that haven't been before. Ross and David

Waiting for word back from ELG, DWGC and Stirling to see if they are entering any more players.

Between 25-30 tickets have been booked so far.

Brian

Jenna says that she's happy to be the stand in player but might have to borrow a few models to make up her army for the larger point levels.

Also, she hasn't played in a while so might be a bit unsure of rules.

Kar Meng may also be available but extra bodies or help on the day is always great.

Neil is going to do the computer work but we'll also need folk selling the raffle tickets, collecting the Pizza, sorting out returned slips, checking that armies are painted etc
