Devastator just makes me laugh every time I look at that pic. lol I mean I don't really have a problem with the design...But damn is he crazy looking. laugh.gif
Also, I really hated it when fans would just call the movie characters "ugly", but I can't fault anyone for calling this guy ugly...Cause he is in fact one ugly mother *trucker.

The Fallen just looks like high concentrated personified evil. Why doesn't that toy look like this? I want a toy of that!

Why is it that The Fallen looks like Blackarachnia and Future Dr Smith(Lost in Space Film) had a lovechild?

Devastor looks ok except for the glow face

So basically your question is why does the Fallen look like a big evil alien?
Maybe because he is!

I can agree with you on Dev though, the green glow face was probably the biggest thing that kind of put me off when I saw it.
But I can get over it.

Well what is "officially" a Cybertronian; a robot made out of boxes?
I know a lot of trans-fans prefer a more Japanese mecha look for Transformers, but what I really like about the movie character designs is that the transformers actually look like living shape shifting alien machines, rather then just typical generic looking robots that were built by 5 faced aliens.
I've always liked the idea behind them being a race of there own, more then just them being another sci-fi rip off of I-Robot.(The original book, not the Will Smith movie.)

I also like the contrast between their more "organic" machine look, especially with the ones, like Bumblebee, who actually take on an earthly-mode. the transformation just looks much more interesting, and feels more like these things are rebuilding themselfs to try and hide as something that is "alien" to their own design.
