Hmm... I guess Kyatii didn't know about Yulie...
Inukai thought as he kneeled down on the ground and began to doodle a bit with a twig. He felt the presence of Rakkar next to him. "Hey Rakkar." He muttered quiet enough so Yulie couldn't hear, but loud enough for Rakkar too. The later didn't matter since Rakkar could read his thoughts.
"Hey, Inukai. I see you were able to save your friend..."
"Kyatii"
"Yea, Kyatii. That was a good trick, softening the ground." There was a slight hint of jealousy in Rakkar's voice. Inukai caught it right away. "I just wish I could've saved you..."
"I don't, you know the rules. If you'd interfered, I could've lost a place in the pack."
"You could've lived with me."
"Inukai, you know I don't like high places." Rakkar laid down next to Inukai. Inukai began to stroke his head. Inukai sighed, half depressed as he relived the old memories of him and Rakkar, and half glad that they can still be friends.
"And, if you had saved me, you would never had gone to Syleph, and met your friends there. Rakkar was right, as usual. "Yeah..." Inukai said, remembering his days at Syleph.
"Now, this is going to sound really strange, but, I really have to thank you for giving me the confidence to fight my last fight. If I never did, I would still be an Erraga. Now, I don't have to obey anyone's rules!"
Inukai smiled. "Thanks, I needed that." Inukai said. He continued to stroke Rakkar's fur. I wonder what it would be like to have fur... Inukai often thought this while he was with Rakkar.
