Rikku is finishing a few arm curls. "32... 33... 34... 35!" He gasps out as he put the weight on a rack and batted at his brow with a rag. Sure, he could've easily done 70 curls with his power, but he had just recently recovered from a small muscle tear. He threw the rag in a basket part filled with other rags like that. He looked around his room. It was filled with an assortment of weights, ranging from 5 to 100lbs. A stationary bike and a weight lifting bench also adorned the center of the room. He goes into the kitchen and looks in the pantry for something to eat. Rikku puts together a quick cheese sandwich and sat at the counter as he chewed on the cheddar sandwich. "Hmm... I'm running low on food... When I'm done lifting, I should go to the market and restock. He finished his sandwich and walked to his weight lifting bench and added 50lbs to each side making a total of 395lbs with the bar. Rikku laid on the bench and took the bar in his grip. He was able to get the bar off of the hook and do about two presses before his arm completely gave out. He had only a second to force his chest and arms into overload and throw the weights off of him. It landed with a loud crash on the weight rack, causing those weights to roll off and hit into the walls. The crash could easily be heard across the halls. Causing complete chaos as Rikku tried to get them all up and re sorted in the backup shelf he made in case this thing happened. "Agh! That's what I get, for trying too much weight." He breathed out as he set the weights up again.

Juliani awoke from his nap with a start and a snort, yelping out something random due to a dream he was having, in response to the loud noise he heard a little down the hall. Getting up wearily to make sure that it wasn't simply his imagination, he yawned until he heard another bang from the same area. Rushing out, he jogged over to the room where he heard the racket coming from and knocked on the door, loud enough to be heard over the din. "Hey! You alright in there?" He didn't even know who this would be. Suppose it doesn't really matter now.

Rikku finished setting the weights up when he heard a knock at his door. I wonder why someone's knocking. He thought sarcasticly to himself. He reset the weights on the bench and walked to the door. Stretching he opened the door. He saw a tall skinny Kantre in front of him. The Kantre had two grooves trailing his horns. "Yea, I'm fine. I haven't seen you around before. Are you the new teacher they hired?"

Juliani breathed a sigh of relief; good thing that wasn't the building collapsing on their heads. "Yes, I am. M'name's Juliani Formeterro, the new Offensive Magic Field teacher. Good to meet you, Mister...?" He put his hand out for him to shake it. The Kantre before him seemed like he'd been working out at the time of the noise; he assumed the weights behind the teacher were what created the ruckus. Other than that, he didn't seem like one that worked out all his life, but most definitely pumped more iron than Juliani himself. He prefered to work out in different ways anyhow.

"Rikku, Rikku Kisanarre." Rikku shook Juliani's hand, being careful not to squeeze too tightly. "It's about time we got a new teacher for the older years. I too am an Offensive Magic teacher. Just, for the younger years." Rikku said, finishing the handshake. "Sorry about the noise. I suppose you'll get used to it sooner or later, living on the same floor as me." Rikku chuckled lightly and smiled. "I was just about to go down to town to restock on food, wanna join me?"

Juliani thought about it for a second, then shrugged and nodded. "Sure, why not? I've got nothing better to do anyways, seeing as we've got a lack of work around here at the moment. Plus, I'm sure you've got a better handling on the cheaper stores around here nowadays. I've been gone long enough for it to matter," he said, chuckling. "I suppose I'd better stock up on some stuff myself. I'm running low on some medications I need to take from time to time."

"OK, let me get some money, and we'll be off." Rikku went back into his room and grabbed a small bag of coins. He tied the bag to his belt and exited the room. "Well, let's go!" Rikku said. He began to walk down the hallway with Juliani. "So, what kind of medications do you need?"Rikku asked. They rounded a corner and began to descend the stairs.

Juliani matched Rikku's pace down the stairs, not wanting to slow him down. "Oh, just some stuff I've needed to take ever since my power wormed its way to the surface, some meds for my blood. I have thin blood, it seems, so they give me these things to aid it. Iron fortification, I think it is," he said. He'd almost forgetten the name, seeing as he'd not had to repeat it too much whenever he settled down. "That's the main one, at least. I've got another one that also helps my blood, but so that I produce it quicker. Also quite helpful for one such as myself," he said, opening the door at the bottom of the stairs for Rikku, waving a hand to encourage him through.

"Thanks." Rikku said as he passed through the door. "Iron fortification, eh?" Rikku thought for a moment. Hmm... Where can we get some of that for cheap... Rikku thought for a moment. I guess Yulgar's would be the best. He usually has that kinda stuff. Now, for food, that's easy, we'll just go down to Jack's stall. He usually gives me good prices. They rounded another corner and walked down the hall. Another staircase met them around the corner with a door at the end, leading to the 1st floor main hall. "Well, I think I know where we can get our stuff for a good price. A coupla' friends of mine, one, Yulgar, sells medicines and the like; and Jack sells food and supplies. If we're lucky, they'll both be in town."

Juliani smiled and shrugged. "Works for me. If they get us the cheaper prices, then I most definitely am not arguing," he said with a chuckle as he started down the next flight of stairs. "So, how long have you been working here?" he asked, assuming the previous conversation to be finished and decided to make some idle chatter. "I went to school here back when I was younger and I don't believe I ever saw you. Whether it was because you weren't here, or because I was paying attention to my teacher and not the younger student's, I don't know."

"Hmm... Let's see... Juliani Formeterro..." Rikku mentally went through all of the attendance sheets he's seen. He finds nothing about a Juliani anything. "Nope, can't say I recall you being in any of my classes. Doesn't mean we weren't here at the same time. You see, about 10 or so years back, I used to coach the older students, like you are now. One day though, I tore a chest muscle very badly and was in the hospital for almost a year. Needless to say, they found a replacement. When I returned, they reassigned me to the younger years. I found out that I enjoy teaching the younger years than the olders." This time Rikku opened the door in front of them and held it for Juliani.

Juliani nodded and muttered a 'Thank you' as he walked through the door. "Ah, I see. Come to think of it, if the brain cells are working correctly, I may have heard of your case. Who knows, maybe I just haven't had the luck to get you as a teacher, then," he said, chuckling. "Ah well, I've gotten to meet you now, so I suppose that makes up for things. But anyhow, you've probably taught them when they were younger, so I'm sure you know the crop better than I; what am I going to be stuck with, eh? I met a couple students earlier on today, and happened to meet a girl who can play with puppets, minus the strings, or so it seemed," he said, mentioning the girl he met in the market earlier.

"I suppose it does." Their stepping was silent on the carpet. They began their walk across the long first floor halls. "Hmm... Puppets... Yup, that's Marionette, Marionette Moargh. If you didn't guess, her power is animating puppets. Now, let me tell you she is talkative. Though at first she'll stutter, she'll talk you to the grave, given the chance. I'm amazed that Inukai, a Drezmo and one of her best friends, hasn't gone mad." Rikku chuckled at his joke. "Now, Inukai, that one's something different. You may find him quiet at first, but when, and if he warms up to you, he's a good kid. He's more than a little quiet about his past. His power is changing the properties of natural objects. He's a bit quieter than Marionette and often times sneaks out of his dorm rooms at night. I don't know what he does out there, but I've caught him outside more than a few times."

Juliani nodded as he listened to the knowledgable teacher speaking of his former students. "Well, we've got two good ones, at least. I'm guessing everyone else is your average student, in relation to trouble-making and the like, yes?" he said, looking to the ceiling as he pondered what the first days would be like. Hopefully he wouldn't be overrun by kids who would try to take advantage of his new status. He hated having to put down kids with strictness, but if necessary, he'd have to put the belt into motion.

"Yea, almost everyone else is just the average student. The other students shouldn't give you too much trouble. Between you and me, I warned the students that if they were bad to the new teacher, I would have to, discipline them. So to speak." Rikku laughed out loud. "I'm just joking. I wouldn't threaten my students like that. They are all good students though, so you shouldn't have too much trouble. If you need any in-class help, just ask Inukai or Marionette to help you out. They'd know the students better than any teacher would."
