The Elven Race
Inhabitants of the Eastern corner of Estellasia, in the forest there, are the Elven Folk. They are made up of nearly 500 men, women, and children. They are a peaceful people, most being adamantly against violence between mankind – and thus they usually stay out of wars and disputes. They keep to theirselves, and while they are Estellasian citizens, they are treated more like exiles by the Estellasians because they are so wildly different. It has been many years since Elves have lived alongside humans in Estellasia, and since then the Elves have been secluded to their own corner of the kingdom. For this reason most Estellasians do not think of them and the younger generations do not even believe they exist.

The Elves, while ultimately they do answer to the King or Queen of Estellasia when they are remembered, govern themselves entirely. They are ruled over by Elders, twelve of the Elven men appointed by the Elves themselves, and the highest authority is the High Elder. These Elders handle every situation together by discussing it in the Elders’ Council and taking a vote where the majority rules. Such has always been the way of the Elves, and they have lived peacefully among each other for as long as any can remember.

Elves are immortal – meaning, they cannot die by natural death – however, they can be killed by fatal wounds, but it has to be quite fatal indeed, fatal enough so that their quick-healing bodies do not have the time to catch up to the wound. Their immortality can also be taken away as punishment – which would be the hardest punishment one could receive from the High Elders. It is not a punishment that is given out very often. Crimes worthy of such a consequence include: murder of a fellow elf, adulterating a marriage {and the punishment would be for both the married party and the other involved}, abandonment of the Elven culture, and perhaps others as the Elders see fit.

Elves have an innate ability to use very limited magic. This magic includes that of controlling elements to a minor degree {such as watering a plant or something of that sort}, communicating with the earth and all natural life, empathizing with the earth and all natural life, communicating and empathizing with animals. They have a high respect for nature and everything in nature and thus they are very nurturing and loving toward the earth. They rarely eat meat, but when they do it is viewed as a gift from Mother Gaia, the goddess that they worship.

Appearance-wise, Elves may not seem much different at first glance, but upon further inspection, they are quite different. Their ears are pointed, though it is such a minor difference that many may not even notice. They are all quite thin and lean, and most of their body mass is lean muscle. They have a swift metabolism and lighter density, making them lighter and more agile. They often move without making noise and without stirring much of their surroundings. Their hair colors are usually a dark brown to a red color, earthy colors. Never will you see a blonde elf. Their eye colors range from all the usual colors. Their skin is usually very pale, no matter how much time is spent in the sun.

They have very sharp senses, keen eyesight and hearing. Many elves, because of their agility, make excellent archers, and some even make incredible warriors with the sword. Of course, as they are a peaceful nation, they do not use such abilities in aggressive manners. There are also Mythril mines near the city of Mythril, from which they receive the enchanted metal and fashion them into all sorts of things, such as weapons, jewelry, chainmail, garments, and really anything you could think of they have probably done it.

Elves are proud, gentle, kind, and intelligent. They are not easily provoked and they do not go out of their way to provoke. They truly are the most peaceful creatures in Enchanted.

The Sorcerers
There is magic in this world. In fact, the very Earth is humming with magic, as many of the plants are enchanted and have various magical properties, such as a certain orchid-like flower that is used in seducing victims. There are few who are able to employ magic as well. Every 100 years a sorcerer is born to each of the Kingdoms in Enchanted, unless there has been an odd fluke (which happens maybe every 500 years).

The sorcerers are the only one in the country who can perform magic. They must learn from many books. Some sorcerers never know that they have abilities until they have reached adulthood. There is an instructor, very old, in the hills of Estellasia who has devoted his life and the lives of his sons to instructing sorcerers, while they themselves are not Sorcerers. Some from other kingdoms are sent to him to learn.

These Sorcerers are forbidden to procreate, and have been from the beginning of time, because their powers were so great and the earliest people feared a tribe of magi rising up and overtaking the Kingdoms. Sorcerers are also able to gift temporary magic to those whom they wish, though this is a very rare instance for it is unknown what will happen to the person until they try.

By appearance, Sorcerers look like regular humans. There are sorcerers, such as the Enchantress, who alter their appearance to make them look more preserved or younger. They also tend to wear more lavish clothing, brighter colors, bangles, and other such things that may make them look more mystical than a regular humans.

Sorcerers do not require magic wands to perform their enchantments.
