[Grolkin] As the leader of the pack, Grolkin demand respect. Normally, the pack in run by two wolves who are mates, but sometimes, should a new wolf take over the position; the pack would be run by one wolf. The Grolkin normally know every bit of land they own, and help the lower ranks with their duties. Only once the Grolkin dies, abandons the pack, or retires on his own, no other wolf can take his position. If a wolf, defeats the Grolkin in battle, that wolf normally takes over the pack, either by killing the Grolkin or by getting the Grolkin to submit. To become a Grolkin without a battle, one is normally born with the inheritance right, which is gained through being born the Grolkin’s eldest pup. Grolkin are first to feed should a hunt be successful. Despite the description for all the Zer Ranks, the Grolkin is supposed to be “best” for each rank.
[Feertin] The Feertin normally aides the Grolkin with leading the pack, as they are second in charge, and are first to take over if the Grolkin dies and has had no pups. There are two wolves, and they are usually mates. The Feertin are the ones to go to should any wolf have a question, as they are normally more accessible than the actual Grolkin. Being second in command, they have all the same duties as the Grolkin, but are just a bit lesser. They cannot, however, promote or demote a wolf’s rank, unless given the direct permission by the Grolkin. Feertin always feast with the Grolkin at kills.
[Zekru] The Zekru is not a rank one can just obtain by birthrights or fighting for, as it is a special rank. Sometimes referred to as the “Great Rank”, the Zekru is a hero of the pack. A Zekru normally has to accomplish some great feat in order to obtain the rank, such as saving a Grolkin or Feertin from death or even the whole pack. If one becomes this glorious rank, they will have the right to feed with the Grolkin and Feertin, meaning they will have first choice meat. If a wolf is mates with a Zekru, they, sadly, do not get all the rights and remain their rank. Zekru always help battle plans, and are free to visit anywhere at anytime, even off pack land sites.
[Corek] A Corek is a peacekeeper, and they help settle disputes between pack members. They are mostly friendly and are great convincers. They should know the pack roster from memory and be pals with all the pack members. Normally, there are more two Corek, who are generally mates. In order to obtain the rank of Corek, a wolf must have the birth right, or be appointed by the last Corek. Corek have the right to fill their bellies after the Grolkin and Feertin. These wolves are very calm and never anger, they only become aggressive should a dispute get out of hand.
[Virkl] The Virkl is the lead hunter who helps the Grolkin in hunts. Normally, these wolves are extremely agile and strong. They always help the Grolkin chose which victim to kill and the Virkl plan out the kill pattern. They command their little “minions” who are the Sakul. Since their jobs are so important, they get to feast second with the Corek. There is only one wolf for this rank.
[Sakul] A Sakul is a wolf who is a part of the main hunting party and they carry out the Virkl’s orders, and hunting plan. They communicate well with their Virkl, and are allowed to eat third with the Zer Ranks.
[Zer Dyuvar] A Zer Dyuvar is the best all-around messenger. They are trusted the most by the Grolkin and are given the most important messages to be sent to other packs. The Zer Dyuvar trains all the other Dyuvar, and is normally accompanied by the Hyu Dyuvar when leaving the pack lands to deliver messages, since the Hyu Dyuvar will, most of the time, take the Zer Dyuvar’s spot when s/he dies. These wolves are always athletic, and have a lean build over a bulky one so they can be faster. There is never more than one wolf that holds a Zer title for every rank.
[Dyuvar] A normal Dyuvar is a Mek or Nek Dyuvar that has finished training and can be given messages by pack members to send to one wolf or another in the pack. Dyuvar only give out information gathered within the pack to their Grolkin, never to their Feertin. Sometimes, in very strange situations, one of these wolves can take over the position of Zer Dyuvar. Like all the other normal ranks, they eat after the Zer Ranks are finished; they always eat with the Hyu, Mek, and Nek Ranks as well.
[Hyu Dyuvar] These are the best apprentices and they mainly train harder than any other apprentice rank in order to obtain this rank. They are always first choice when a Zer Rank is being chosen. There is never more than one for this rank.
[Mek Dyuvar] These wolves are the older apprentices. There can be more than one.
[Nek Dyuvar] These wolves are the younger apprentices. There can be more than one.
[Zer Kitori] Being that there is only one Zer Kitori, they must be the sneakiest of all the wolves. They are spies who leave the pack lands often, with the company of the Hyu Kitori. They smell like outsiders, but can be identified by their names, since they always report to the Grolkin. The Zer Kitori trains the lower Kitori. Being the best, the Zer Kitori is trusted by the Grolkin to gather information from outsiders, and enemy packs, since they have split personas for that reason.
[Kitori] A Mek or Nek Kitori who has finished apprenticeship, and has survived long enough to become this rank is called Kitori, not having the prefix to their name anymore. Seeing as they are normal Kitori, they are trusted more than the Mek or Nek Kitori, and are allowed to leave pack territory to gather information from outsiders, unknown, since their scent is of a loner as well, they always report to the Feertin first.
[Hyu Kitori] These are the best apprentices and they mainly train harder than any other apprentice rank in order to obtain this rank. They are always first choice when a Zer Rank is being chosen.
[Mek Kitori] These wolves are the older apprentices. There can be more than one.
[Nek Kitori] These wolves are the younger apprentices. There can be more than one.
[Zer Dinz] The Zer Dinz is the best guard of the pack, and always knows the best defense. Zer Dinz are normally stationed on the outer areas of the pack lands, to patrol the border. Should a loner wonder onto pack land, the Zer Dinz is normally first to spot them. They train all the lower Dinz and are always accompanied by the Hyu Dinz when patrolling the border. Normally, they are built for endurance and are more defensive than offensive. Unlike the other Zer Ranks, there are two of the Zer Dinz, one to patrol the outer rim and a second to patrol the inner area with the normal Dinz.
[Dinz] A normal Dinz is a Mek or Nek Dinz that has finished training. They patrol the inner lands to protect the pack almost like a second defense. Dinz always keep close to the actual pack to be the last line of defense before they let the Feune have a go at the intruder.
[Hyu Dinz] These are the best apprentices and they mainly train harder than any other apprentice rank in order to obtain this rank. They are always first choice when a Zer Rank is being chosen.
[Mek Dinz] These wolves are the older apprentices. There can be more than one.
[Nek Dinz] These wolves are the younger apprentices. There can be more than one.
[Zer Feune] The Zer Feune bare many scars from battles, and they are the best warrior in the pack. They lead the Feune ranks and are mostly strong and swift. They have a great ability to detect strange noises, be it the heart beat of the enemy or the breathing of a sickly wolf; they are, in short, extremely alert and sensitive to their surroundings. Being the best warrior, the Zer Feune leads any battle with the Grolkin and Feertin. Zer Feune normally drag around the Hyu Feune and train them to no end, it would suck to be a Hyu Feune, but still a great honor. The Zer Feune is the most vicious member of Koontai Pack, and always whips his/her minions into shape with pain, and a lot of it.
[Feune] They are the main body of the fighters. They are the normal warriors, and are like the soldiers with more experience than the Mek and Nek Feune. Feune only fight when directed to, and are extremely disciplined. Should these wolves step out of line, the Grolkin, strangely, won’t be on your case, but you will be in for a world of pain from the Zer Feune.
[Hyu Feune] These are the best apprentices and they mainly train harder than any other apprentice rank in order to obtain this rank. They are always first choice when a Zer Rank is being chosen.
[Mek Feune] These wolves are the older apprentices. There can be more than one.
[Nek Feune] These wolves are the younger apprentices. There can be more than one.
[Zer Attikx] The Zer Attikx is the head medical provider. They are required to know all healing herbs, and herbs that are poisonous. They know nature best, as it is their way to heal patients. Should a Grolkin or any other higher up fall ill, the Zer Attikx will normally treat them, and have the Hyu Attikx assist. Zer Attikx know which herbs heal best and hurt most. Be sure not to make any Attikx mad, since, you know, they have your life in their hands, and know what can make you hurt for days on end. They are possibly the craziest wolves in the pack, but they can also save you.
[Attikx] These wolves are the medical providers who have just gotten out of training, make sure some freshy isn’t trying to save you, because sometimes these wolves actually mix up their herbs. A normal Attikx would normally take care of minor wounds, never extreme cases, because that just isn’t right… wolves just don’t have the insurance for it.
[Hyu Attikx] These are the best apprentices and they mainly train harder than any other apprentice rank in order to obtain this rank. They are always first choice when a Zer Rank is being chosen.
[Mek Attikx] These wolves are the older apprentices. There can be more than one.
[Nek Attikx] These wolves are the younger apprentices. There can be more than one.
[Zer Oul] The Zer Oul is the wolf who gives all the other wolves advice. The Zer Oul is like a main teacher for all the other wolves, but the Zer teaches the Grolkin’s oldest pup everything s/he should need, if the Grolkin him/herself cannot. They are almost like tutors. They are always extremely intelligible, and almost never get any information wrong.
[Oul] Being that they just got out of apprenticeship, these wolves can, and may make some mistakes, they will tutor new wolves about the pack and terminologies they use, since their ranks aren’t used everywhere else. In fact, that is the first thing Oul should know.
[Hyu Oul] These are the best apprentices and they mainly train harder than any other apprentice rank in order to obtain this rank. They are always first choice when a Zer Rank is being chosen.
[Mek Oul] These wolves are the older apprentices. There can be more than one.
[Nek Oul] These wolves are the younger apprentices. There can be more than one.
[Urekd] Puppy sitters that are trusted to take care of the pack’s pups, but not only do they know great offensive skill, but they are extremely kind as well. Urekd also take care of the Ans, since they are elderly wolves. They are given their rank by the Grolkin after gaining their utter trust, should the trust be broken, they are either exiled or are immediately tossed into the Makos rank.
[Nisorus] The subordinates of the pack. Newly accepted wolves are always given this rank until they can become an apprentice to a rank or have gained the Grolkin’s trust. After a pup becomes one year of age, they are given this rank, but still hold any inheritance right they have been born with.
[Lij Feo] The oldest female pup.
[Feo] A female pup.
[Qun Feo] The youngest female pup.
[Lij Meo] The oldest male pup.
[Meo] A male pup.
[Qun Meo] The youngest male pup.
[Ans] A wolf that has been retired from a higher rank, and are generally old or unable to carry on their rank’s job anymore. Still, though, they are allowed to eat fifth.
[Makos] The rank Makos is not a rank any wolf would like to be. Once a wolf becomes a Makos, there is no virtual way to get out, unless one did something to earn the trust of all the wolves back, though that is hard, as all the wolves would ignore you and literally kick dirt in your face. These wolves are left with mostly bones and a few scraps of meat.
[Illidium] An Illidium is not a rank at all, but it is the Koontai word for loner or outsider, a wolf that does not belong to their pack.
