Above stretched the sky, to the right, the rainforest, and to the left, a mix between crumbling city and jungle. Sunlight shined on the many shades of emerald, moss and ochre. She put her face back, enjoying the feeling of the heat on her features. She liked the city and the forest, so stayed in the outskirts most of the time, where she had taken up residence. Idly she twirled the light dagger in her right hand, bringing her gaze down to look at it, then looked further to look at the streets, the odd person milling about, two floors below. Her leg swung back and forth, in time with the dagger in her hand.

She was bored, frankly, couldn't think of anything better to do that what she was doing. Well, it provided some entertainment at least. Finally she stood up, and headed over to the door at the side of the roof, leading down into the deserted building of which she was standing on. She didn't really know where she was headed, but some inner sense unconsciously pointed her towards the river, as she emerged onto the street.

He was leaning against a wall that was all that remained of a building. All he could think about was the memories that kept playing through his head. Every time he came into the rainforest the memories always flooded back no matter how many mental barriers he put in place. Wandering here as a child seeing people who still had families, fighting to survive, all horrible memories from the past that were best left forgotten and yet whenever he saw a place like this his memories came flooding back, well the ones he could remember anyway.

It started to rain a few hours later with him still standing there not moving and yet if his eyes could have been seen than all anyone would have said would have been that they contained an unimaginable sorrow and that sadness lurked behind both eyes. With the parts of his memory returning in a flood he never noticed that someone was coming closer to the river on almost silent feet.
