As dusk fell, a man made his way to the roof of an apartment building. Nikolai stretched as he wandered around on the rooftop, always mindful of safety precautions. He flexed his hands, testing his grip. Usually he ran this course at least once a week...or at least a course. If he did the same one too often, he'd get stuck in a rut. That wouldn't be any good.

So the amateur traceur and professional spy continued to stretch, unwilling to injure himself for the sake of keeping fit. Once he was reasonably certain that he was limber enough, he grinned and dashed off towards the edge of the building. Like a cat, he jumped, and landed in a roll on the other side. Luckily this part of the Haalu metropolis had narrow alleys.

Okay, that wasn't bad, but he could do better. He ran to the other end of this building, grabbing one of the elevated, exposed pipes and swinging across the thin alleyway onto the next building.

Yes, he could do better. But he loved to work on his parkour skills...

Skillful but Sly, Noeko entered the narrow tracked allyways as she followed the fresh scents of another of the Savannah's kind, As she neared the end of her tracks she could see the shadows of the figure jump from building to building like a cat, yet she could tell the sleak figure of this being was not of the cat type. Like the Black Mamba She took her place as, Noeko was quick, smart and vicious all cramped up in a small body good for hiding and keeping out of trouble while it lasts. She glarred at him as she hid in the shadows, watching him as he showed off his little tricks.

But it wasn't tricks that kept you alive in the Savannah's, you needed to be skilled and highly equipt, as you had to always keep out a helpful watch. Not everyone can be trusted here, these parts are vicious and dangerous and if your not careful especially on a night like this you may not see another day!

"I see you haven't met many of the rivals around these parts then!"

She gave him a dark grin as she forwarded out from the shadows, Her voice grimly spoke for ibtself as she cornered him on the roof top.

Nikolai didn't jump when the girl stepped out of the shadows and spoke to him, though it was difficult. Still, he supposed that he should have expected something of the sort. Haalu wasn't safe - there was no place that really was. Running into a ruffian would add an interesting flair to the day.

"I haven't," he said pleasantly enough, his Schwyz army knife thudding from his sleeve into the palm of his hand. "Have you?"

The question was simple enough, though an implied threat lurked behind his words. If she thought she was going to kill him or rob him, she would have to contend with the son of the Bear, and the son of the Bear did not like being toyed with.

He stood just a just a few feet away from what appeared to be the start of a fight. Moving quickly he disarmed both of them without being seen. Taking a moment to gather all of their weapons into two pouches he made sure to keep ether of their weapons separate.

“You know that it is very difficult to fight someone when you are both unarmed,” he said as he stepped from the shadows with a pistol in one hand and a sword in the other. “Then again you probably haven’t noticed that I just disarmed you.” He took a moment to grin at their shocked faces before hastily returning his sword to its sheath and throwing the two pouches at the feet of the owners of the weapons contained in them.
“It really isn’t my style to harm an unarmed opponent so here are your weapons back,” he said while redrawing his sword, “I just really didn’t think that you two should fight considering the fact that you both are really slow on the uptake that there is someone unexpected in the area.” As if out of nowhere he flipped around and pulled a dagger out with his sword hand and expertly flipped it so that it neatly landed in the center of the back of a man who had been trying to quietly sneak away. “I hate it when they try and run,” he said with a serious look on his face, “anyway that is another target down. Now, back to you two, I really would suggest that you both leave with your things now.”

She smilled as he looked at her, threats flew from his blazing eyes towards her, what sort of a fight was he expecting. Noeko gave him distasteful, wide, grin as she returned his favour for words. "Yes, infact i seem to be bumping into them everywhere i go, funny how that works." Her smile turned from a hastly amusing smile to an evil grin that overtook her face as yet another rival burst into the clearing.

He stood there, showing off his little tricks and trying to scare her off, something she found never really attractive in a guy. She mearly laughed as he chucked her weapons infront of her, yet she had no interest in picking them up. They lied there unharmed as she eye'd the guy who showed himself off quite well. She was sickened that the guy stuck a knife to another inocent soul's back. She laughed as she returned words with the obnoxious guy. " I don't believe that its the weapons that we carry that help us win, but the skills we have when we don't use them. "

She stopped then laughed at him, making a fool of himself infront of her, what kind of a point was he trying to prove this time, she was getting over this tiring guy as she replied to him once more, "Ha, you really think your going to scare me off that easily, you may want to think that over again there mate!" She watched his face drop slowely as she made them know that she was not in the mood to go anywhere.

"You may not of noticed but these tracks are where i roam, and if its a fight you want then its going to be a fight your going to get but please do stop making a fool of yourself". Noeko sighed and relaxed herself now, picking her pile of weapons and dumping them on the side of the building so they would fall to the bottom of the allyways, she wanted to let them know that she was more that meets the eye. She waited for there reply as she rested on her right leg.

Nikolai hid a grin as the shadowy presence removed his water pistol from his belt, his multi-tool safe in his hand and completely concealed from anyone's notice. "You can go ahead and keep the squirter if you want," he said, a smile slowly growing on his face. "There's plenty more where that came from. No, no, don't fuss yourself on my account. I insist."

He shook his head, his choppy dark hair falling from in front of his face. "Leave? Now? Just when things are getting interesting?" he asked the pseudoninja. He was a younger man, about ten years Kolya's junior. He ought to be in school, probably.

To the girl, he inclined his head and said, "Oh dear, miss, no. I didn't come out here looking for a fight. I was merely on my rather acrobatic evening constitutional. You're welcome to join me, if you like. However, if it's a spot of sparring you prefer, far be it from me to deprive you."

“I must apologize for the way that I have acted up to this point and I probably should explain. I am an assassin from the rainforest and that man that you see dead was a target that I was hired o kill in the desert,” wind said when it became apparent that they had no intention of leaving. His right hand drawing on two wires he had placed when removing their weapons as he wondered idly if he would have to use them.
“I do believe that some reparations are in order for the ways that I have spoken and treated you so how about I treat you both to whatever meal is current,” he said as he began reaching into all sorts of odd pockets to produce: five extremely compact chairs, a small compact table, several plates and glasses, several various bottles of wine, a large hunk of smoked ham wrapped in clear plastic, several bags of assorted vegetables.
To top off the strange things that he took from his pockets he pulled out old kerosene lantern and several candles. Taking a moment to light a candle he didn’t notice anything strange until a moment too late as it blue up in his gauntleted left hand.

Noeko watched in amusement as they both apologized of there actions, life is to short to have to apologize all the time, and her mind rules are there to be broken, thats why they were there. What kind of a world would it be if she wasn't here, she thought to herself. Noeko may be heartbroken but she will never be the easy target she used to be, After what had happened she usually took to the shadows and it had been long since she had come across others like her.

She quietly laughed as one of them started pulling out all sorts of miscelanious objects out of his pocket. She merely just laughed at the sight of it. Who in there right minds of an assassin would be as ready as daylight to fight her then back and try and repay her with a det that she did not see needed repaying. Noeko was short and Quiet at times but she is more than you could ever expect.

"I do not take from strangers and that has been a legacy of mine, i have no interest in what is yours, only what lies ahead"

She watched the other male as she quietly moved into the shadows in an attempt to leave in the darkness without them noticing but something was forcing her back not literally but figuratively like she was meant to be there. No, No, No, not again, not now, it can't be happening again. She quietly wispered to herself.

She felt her hands tremble and shake in fear as she broke out in tears, this didn't happen often and she usually always hid her emotions but this time it hurt, it hurt real bad. Noeko held her hand tightly as she tried to hide the scars. She felt the pain ripple under her skin as she looked for a dark allyway that led out of this gloomy landscape before her.

"I appreciate the offer, but I'm afraid that I too must decline," Nikolai said. "I make it a point not to accept meals from strange men who just killed someone in front of me and have declared themselves assassins." He was slightly irked by the mystery man's sheer unprofessionalism - any assassin worth his salt knew to take the target first, not toy with random passersby. Pratchett's Guild would have flunked him for sure.

He then watched in bemusement as a candle-that-was-not-a-candle suddenly exploded in the assassin's hand. "Oh, dear," he murmured.

Then the girl's edging away caught his attention. He eyed her as she seemed to be suffering an attack of some kind, whether anxiety or just a headache. A rooftop was really a poor place to suffer such an ailment. "Here, are you all right?" he asked her, not unkindly, ready to defend himself if it was all an act.

It was too bloody hot.

There were other thoughts occupying the orangutan's mind, but this was the first and most important one.

So. Bloody. Hot.

Jiang Xueyin made her way up the building with surprising speed before dropping lightly onto someone's porch and morphing back. It had almost never been this hot back at home, to say nothing of her dorm room in college. Here, fur was something of a disadvantage. But if it helped her get up buildings quickly, she was willing to grin and bear it.

The last few feet were simple enough, even in her human form. She scrambled up to the roof, swinging one leg over the side before pausing and blinking. She'd thought she'd heard an explosion, but she hadn't thought there'd be a regular party up here - complete with chairs and wine, no less.

Well, whatever it was, she wanted no part of it. She was here for research, not socializing. Snorting quietly, Xueyin swung her leg back down. She'd find another rooftop, thank you very much.
