Spur of the moment -- and because it was cheap and I have a bit of money right now -- I'm currently at Geek Kon 3 in Madison. I imagine that if any Shejidanni were here, through some miracle, they'd have reacted to my badge name of XHERALT by now...

It's been kind of boring, This is NOT a con for me to attend ever again, I'm sure of it now. It's nice enough in its own right, but I'm a bad fit for it. I'm too much older than the vast majority of attendees, I don't connect well with them (worse than I connect with my peers, which is often quite dismally), and I'm not *enough* of an anime fan (which is the con's primary focus). I wish them luck for the future though, Wisconsin needs more cons!

Did you attend this one before, Xheralt? The name is somewhat familiar. With a name like that I would have anticipated a heavy technology & gaming focus, not anime. Too bad it wasn't more fun for you. teapot.gif

You have to go back two pages (at this writing) in Meetpoint to arrive at this thread. You liked their discussion board, Sk8tr, which now I realize I never went to look at...

Total purchases were the CD of one of the musical guests, Fermata, a Star Trek: Voyager insignia badge (from one of the few non-anime merchants), and four bottles of imported Ramune soda pop (which use a glass marble to seal the bottle)

The Ramune bottle looks very, very cool! I've never heard of it. Seattle has a fabulous huge Asian store -- Uwajimaya -- I'll bet they stock it & I can pick up a bottle there.

My kids had that drink at a Japanese restaraunt in Vancouver in the spring, so it should be available in Washington as well.

The Ramune bottle is very very cool, but the drink itself is pretty oversweet and yucky.

Thanks for the warning, Bet! I may just get a chance to try it myself as I'll be in Seattle tomorrow for 5 days & plan to hit the Asian market where I'm certain it will be sold.

Xh-ji, have you tried it yet?

Definitely try it. The bottle alone is worth it.

I've tried two of the flavors. I regrettably left the other two I'd bought at the hotel in the rush to check out. Yeah, they're on the sweet side, but not unbearably so.

EDIT: Found them! I'd tucked them into a pocket of my suitcase and forgotten them.
